Seniors.. please suggest some basic finance and accounts books for beginners???? It will be highly beneficial before joining Finance..
Most of them provide the role of Business Analyst with a compensation of around 8-12l depending on experience of the candidate.. There are huge no. of profiles and mostly will outdo the no. of students opting 4 such kind of profiles..
Hope this helps..
thanks for the info saswat! i was under the impression that IT firms recruit students in hundreds and offer 4-5 lakhs as compensation.

and what about the summers.. what kind of profiles are on offer during summers?

Do IT comp. while offering Business Analyst give preference to people with IT experience? I am asking this because I am coming from banking sector.(42 months)
Also do they give preference to acads? ...b'cas......BAD ACADS

Not Acads.. but definitely ur profile.. If the company recruits in bulk, then ur previous work-ex is not that relevant but if a company looks for say 2-3 candidates then it does become important..

I fail to understand this phenomenon that most of the withdrawls are from Finance. The withdrawls even from IB are more than those from FT.
few possible reasons that come to my mind are:
1)ppl who converted FT are very much satisfied from what they have got and among them very few could convert better calls (IIMs,MDI,SPJ,.....)
2) Buffer calls in FT are less as compared to those given in Fin., IB.So naturally probability and samples of withdrawl from other specializations will be more. This also implies that upgradation to FT could be possible....
3) FT people are kind of most dedicated ones who are least bothered to post their withdrawls...
These are just my opinions...
Hi seniors,
It would be really helpful if you could suggest a few learnings in Finance that we could all go through before joining the course. Basically most of us are from non-Financial background. So, please throw some light on this.
Thanks & Regards,

As far as grounding and building the foundation is concerned, do not worry. IMT is starting a pre-foundation course from 1st June. You will have a lot to study and there you can definitely build your ground.
If you want a foundation prior to pre-foundation, then you luxury yourself with class 11th & 12th account books. Those will definitely build solid platform.
cheers

guys, as we have come to know by now that core fin profiles are hardly available in IMT and there are some concerns reg placements too.. kindly check the official thread of IMT. a 2nd year guy, still unplaced, has written a mail to the mgmt reg an issue. not criticising the college here.. we get what we deserve.. just preparing you guys mentally by spreading awareness.. :-P
