I have good %age in 10th and 12th (avbove 80% in both ) but my BE % is 58.2 ( simple average of all sems) Shud i try applying to Infy or is it worth not the bother?????????

As someone has already said, there are people here from different universities with percentages less than 60. A few of them had atleast 5 back logs. So your engineering percentage really doesnot matter. It'z just a matter of the damn puzzles and how u sail about in the interview. Just use the words "Learnability", "Competencies" et al, and u are in for sure. The recruitment is not done by Infosys and there is a third party which does this.

@lavender: we had to walk into thecampus empty handed ... have no idea bout CS students most probably they will provide the books ... u dont have to worry about nething in infy ... they ll take care of everything ...
@kavita: have patience see u have an example here(lavender) took the test on 9th got call just now ..... so u will have to wait...
@others: infy considers lot of things for selection for tests .... if ur engg is bad but 10th 12th n extra currs are good u can xpect a call... but not otherwise ... because i know people hu have not got calls even if they had 70% in Engg ....also only test is CONDUCTED by third party .... selection process is by infy people itself .... thye hire some b-skool students to conduct the tests ... n thats it ... selection i s solely done by infy people even the interview ...

HEY ABHISHEK i had given the test on the 27 th at sydenham and then attended a interview at nariman point on the 28 th . they told that the result will be out in 2 - 3 weeks and will be notified by email so chill may we both get through

usually it takes abt a week before u'll get a mail informing u of ur selection ...and yes there r very few rejections in the interview.... doesn't depend on how many questions u answerd or not... evrything depends on how u answer the questions... so chill .... cya in mysore soon

r u serious because i am not very good at solving and deducting answers by equations and stuff like that but god knows how i get the answers .by the way usually the answer papers are also messed up. will this affect my chances of getting through??? may be veterans like vijay can pour some help.
even i have heard that the number of rejects in the interviews is quite less..besides i have a couple of friends at infosys mysore...and they say that they have batches of almost 300 students coming in every fortnight..so i guess if u've cleared the aptitudes and appeared for the interviews, major chunk of the work is done..now it all depends on how u've presented ur self and more importantly.." how they found u.."
as for the interviews, i believe that they are to check on ur communication and team skills and ur persona as a whole..and not much of ur mathematical or problem solving aptitude..so i guess that if u get the correct answers and can prove ur method right..then it should be enough

the thing is that i'm getting a bit anxious about the results..its already been a week since the interview and there has not been a word from their end..
so man..kindly post the dates if u can.. so i can atleast draw up a rough estimate as to when to expect a word from their end..

Hi there, I appeared for the infy intervu on 18th of Oct and was intimated abt my selection on 3rd Nov.(My joining date was 21nov at mysore but I dint take up the offer since I am joining TCS) So there u are!You will have to wait for a while I guess..or mayb u can call up the HR guys at B'lore and enq abt ur status..By the way do u belong to the IT stream..The CS/IT ppl get their offer letters earlier cuz they dont have any training ..whereas if ur frm the it stream , it takes time for the batch plans to b finalised n hence the delay in the results.. Anyway hope u get selected ..ATB to u
hai abhishek, this is sundar i attended the puzzles test & interview @ the same day - 25/8/2005 they released the result that night itself around 11.00 pm we were waiting to recieve the result & i got the offer letter on 24/10/2005 nearly 60 days it took, i haven't recieved any confirmation mail , but on 1/12/2005 i recieved a mail from infosys that they requested to sign in a group called campusconnect.infosys.com that's it , i think i have given you the details don't worry man offer will reach you soon bye, with regards, -sundar

From that i understand that u got a good number of answers right. The rejection rate at the interview is very less, and AFAIK, i can say that atleast 90% of the people who come to the stage of interview make it 😃 . Just dont worry about it. Moreover, there is no time frame for getting the seelction/rejection mail. Even though they say that the results will be given in 2-3 weeks, it may take more time/less time. I can say this confidently because at the time when i joined, I had seen people getting the final selection call in 1 week and a few others getting after 4 weeks. So, conclusion ... Dont worry and stay positive.:)

hey underin !! Just relax..in case u forget to bring anything..everything is available in the campus. Just bring all your original documents. Am afraid but you won't be entitled for travel your joining. But after that company will take care of all your travelling expenditures and your allowances. You will be soon at a campus you would have only dreamt of. All the very best.
thanx m8 .. nd while i was juss checking on the previous posts .. i realised the 1 big mistake i might have made .. i havent got a passport & neither have i applied for one .. any repercussions ?? ..( while i jostle to atleast apply for one before leaving for mysore.. which goes without saying)
