got the email from infy today that my joining date 19 th dec
really in a dilemma now as i have given cat 05 and was suppose to give nmat snap and xat and ha my mind set on joining a bschool .
but now infy comes along the way offers a lucra tive package me as fresher thers always a risk attemoting to get into a bschool without any back up.
but now i really do not know what to do because there is also a year bond so the dream of joining a bschool this year aint gonna happen!!!!!!
still it gives me a great oppurnity to join the infy family aboard

well..i too received the email from infy confirming my selection as software engineer at mysore..joining on de 19th of this month..
now one query that i have is that the letter mentions the reporting date as 19th december..so is it alrite that i reach there by the 18th afternoon or evening..will i be provided accomodation then itself..or do i have to reach there on the 19th morning only..
what say guys..any piece of advice u have for us people ..?
and hey..people from mumbai goin to mysore on de 19th..do post up ur plans..how are u planning to go...when are u planning to reach there..what all stuff u gotta carry..

Got the offer letter from Infosys yesterday. My joining date in on 26th Dec. at Mysore. I took the test on 27th Nov. and interview on the next day at Infosys Chennai Office.
About my Background: Mechanical Enginner - 2003 Passout, worked in HCL BPO for a year and took CAT. It was a pathetic performance. Some how my CAT preparation has paid the dividend. I really dont know how they going to transform this Mechanical Engineer into a Software Engineer.
So, anyone here from Chennai joining on the same date, please PM me.

i guess then its all settled..i'll leave bombay by the 0930 flight..and probably reach mysore by 1500hrs. on the 18th..and then report at 19th in de morning at 0800hrs..

i have some dilemma between working @ infy & getting to canada
i have applied for canada pr , will be getting in january so is there any transfer available to canada infosys after training (infy is there @ toronto,canada)
what i was said is that if i have 1 year experience @ some branded companies like infosys it will really help me getting job in over there, because getting there a good job is really very tough as a fresher
when will they allow us to transfer
is there any educational sponsorship

Mysore has very moderate climate, infact pleasant, no extremeties at all. U can carry a Business Suit if you like but in the 1.5 yrs I spent at Mys Infy, I've never seen a trainee or a software Engineer wear a suit (DM level and above wear suits in case of a client visit).
Infy Mys has a good library and u will find all the reference books that you need but remember, the champaks(Infy course material) are the ones that are gonna help you get past Infy training. The HR sends out a mail with a huge list of books, it is not necessary that you need to carry em but in case you already have those no harm in carrying them (but Im sure u wont refer to them much coz Infy Mys mein there are better things to do than study, get there and you will understand what I mean
)BTW most probably I will be in Mys this weekend and I am planning to go see the Infy campus sometime on saturday (havent seen it since I've quit).

Can some of the veterans post more information on mysore, infy, the training schedule, the work life??? Do we get time to breathe during the training period??Will it help if we go through any particular subjects before we get there?
How are the accomodation facilities?? Is accomodation provided for the entire training period? What kind of opportunities does a person get immediately after training? Are we directly put on projects?
I've heard this industry works in teams for projects. How does this work? Are there fixed teams or dot hey shuffle?
I hope the people joing on the 19th will shed more light !
