Infosys Recruitment | PaGaLGuY

The answer lies in the question itself. If you are looking for money, join HUGHES. If you are looking for 'BRAND', join Infy. Well, anyway that is not my point. If you are joining any company keeping in mind your freetime-at-job-for-CAT-preparation, then i guess it would be better to sit at home and prepare. Dont put your job profile at a risk for preparing for CAT. You may not be in a position to substantiate what you had done working for 'that' company, and that may prove a point that you have no interest in what you do. And nothing can really be commented on which company will leave you with more time for your CAT preparation, as everything depends on so called 'Requirements' at work.

Vijay

Well thats the most weird answer
U telling me to sit at home??
I mean you`re telling me to ADD a GAP year to my Profile. Woaaaahhh!!!
Havent you heard of people doing MBA after work-ex .lateral placements.. (does that ring a bell.Bless you!!!) People have to justify GAP years and not Work-ex.!!

You may not be in a position to substantiate what you had done working for 'that' company, and that may prove a point that you have no interest in what you do.

No B-school tells you that you had no interest in ur work so u came to us
They dont ask you when you prepared for you CAT!!
What on earth were you thinking??
Well, thats the most weird answer ...
sit at home??? are you trying to tell me to ADD a gap year to my profile....
You telling me I`ll have to justify what I did in that company....

Sitting at home is nevertheless a convincing option, often people turns out less prepared after just sitting at home.
Kanika my advice on this issue is that u should join HUGHES software, after all hughes is also a good brand and this surely builds up ur CV.
The most imp. point taken to advice is that the office is in gurgaon which is near to ur home town as compared to the infy's deputation. While preparing for CAT u will face a lot of difficulties and would need the support ur family and in case of hughes u will be more accessible with ur family.
and overall its actually the work u have done matters not the co. brand, if ur job profile is better in hughes then i think u should not give it a second thought, better join Hughes.
Well thats the most weird answer

First things first. You got me absolutely wrong.:)
If u read it properly, you can understand the emphasis I had put on doing justice to your job as well as your preparation for CAT. And yeah, try to understand the analogy in which i said that.

P.S: I plan to take CAT06, can anyone gimme an idea which company wud leave me with more time to study...

Do u think that anyone give you a clear reply for this ? Imagine, you have joined Infy bcoz someone said that it leaves you with more time for your preparation. But someday you find the stark reality that you are left with no time to sleep. What will you do?
Have you ever thought about your preparation in case that happens?

People have to justify GAP years and not Work-ex.!!

Says who? If you still think that you are not required to substantiate or explain your WE, i would say get your facts right. And yes, as you said before, lateral placements depend completely upon your WE. There lies the answer.

No B-school tells you that you had no interest in ur work so u came to us

Is this not contradictory to what you had said before?

And yeah, please stop assuming that whatever i said is applicable to you.:)

Look dude..
All I can make out from our discussion is that there is some kinda communication gap..

But as far as your work-ex and gap year idealogy is concerned...
I have my facts right..(Do you think Im playing cards... it is abt my career)
And about the thing regarding the time..which i will get to study....In case, you have forgotten, PG is a forum..where ppl exchange views.. i just asked for an opinion...but in the end, i`ll decide which company to join..(I dont believe, Im explaining all this.)
I guess, we shud drop this discussion here.
anyway, thanx for your concern.

It's very true that there is heavy recruitment going in Enterprise Solutions Group(ERP) at Infosys. Can you brief us on your profile? As in which part of the Business you were involved in. Like Materials management, Production planning, Supply Chain et al. 😃

hello everyone..

i am currently working with infosys...first of all i would like to inform you people that there is a huge demand for the freshers in the current quater....some 3500 techies are still required uptil april...all those who have cleared the wriiten and given the interview also shud get their results within 3 weeks ( the maximun time)...mysore is the hub of training. The training is of four months for non cs it and for cs it there is a test when u join and if you clear the test then the training would be for 1.5 months else for 4 months....during the training period you hardly get time to prepare for CAT but once the training gets over it depends upon the project but if you are on bench then you can prepare the whole day!!!!!!!:) 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 ...The training at infosys is the best thing that can happen to any fresher....and ofcourse the brand name is huge.....there is a bond of 1 year but after 1 year one can easily switch and bargain with the salary at any other major company....(that is what the majority does....) and yes if you are posted at infy mysore......you will fall in love with the campus...its truly the best campus in the world !!!!!!!!

any other queries feel free to ask

Hi Ronen,

From your profile, i can understand that you fall into the PP Functional category with a flavour of Materials management. Infosys, AFAIK, is definitely looking out for Functional Consultants in PP and MM in SAP package implementation.

Hey inter !

I doubt if u can get any Information about SETlabs on the net, coz it is internal to the organisation.
From my knowledge, it is a department for R&D;, Innovation et al and integrating technology into the business of the client. It compells the client to invest in the technology and products created by different Practice groups. But the major area of work revolves around Innovation. This is all the info i could gather.

I cannot answer the other questions as i aint sure of them. 😃
