thanks maunang for the good wishes! got a reply from infy...they said they would accomodate me in any batch between sept 2004 to jan 2005....but they were non-commital on the exact month....coz "offers for a particular batch are determined based on business requirements". well i guess i gotta wait n wait once again....
but...i could also join icici till then n see how this job goes....n then drop it later n join infy when i get the opportunity....lets see...gotta decide....
till then...jus pls keep updating me on how things r goin there....all ur experiences n all...it wud really help me make a final decision...
also waitin for others to chip in with some advice....

wanna ask one thing about infy off campus recruitment. After how many days after the test n interview do they send final results and do they send mails to all candidates who had appeared for the test n cleared it that whether they got thru or not.

hey sunish,
if you are from CS background, u will get the result in 3 days, and will be asked to join within 10 days. if you r a non CS guy, u can expect the final result in 2 weeks, and will be joining in 2 weeks thereby.
they send mails to all the ppl who attend the interview..........Those who r not selected, will receive the mail in 3 weeks.

hey ajit..........congrats for making it into INFY. hey........ just go ahead and crack CAT 2004 dooood. coz, if u join INFY, u don't find time to prepare, atleast during the first year and u have to wait till 2006 to take CAT, coz the one year bond thingie has become damn serious. FYI u can put NITIE, FMS, IIFT,SPJAIN (for that matter, the top 10 schools
) above INFY. ALL THE BEST .CALLING ALL PAGALGUY's FROM INFY HYDERABAD

hey guyz chillout....u dont need to be great at programmer when u joining as a Fresher.
wid my experience in the IT industru i can tell u for sure is that every company provides a training ranging from 1 month to 3 months in some cases even more depending on the area and the previous knowledge of the joine.
the IT companies recruit a large number of people from non-IT backgrounds every year coz there are not enuf qualified IT and Comps engineer.
so jus chillout join the company whichever offers u a gud prospect live the rest for later..incase if u do sum prep it wud only help ur prospects...

as far as joining is concerned infy has the reputation(albeit bad) along wid wipro to keep ppl waiting for weeks to months(at times) before making them join.
wid the way the industry is going im sure ull be joining soon.
but be carefull and lookout for better oppurtunities incase they falter on their promise(thts a far possibility).

n rest around 10 haven't
well if u have got the offer letter then as i told u infy has a reputation of delaying joining...i know people who were asked to join 3-4 months after getting offer letter.

but jus dont sit and waste time lookut for other oppurtunities......u never know wats there in store fr u

i second that............. the generic training will be really hectic, and folks, just chill out till u'r DOJ. learn RDBMS and C programming, coz u'll have to live on those, unless u r lucky (like moi
) to get Enterprise Solutions as u'r main stream.as far as the offer letter is concerned, just don't worry about it. 😃
have a gr8 time folks, coz u'll miss all u'r gr8 times on joining here.

are nahin yaar freshers par koi refferal money nahin milta hai. this is just because somebody's words looked as if he needed a job. so tried to help but us bande ka resume to nahin aaya aur kai delhi waalon ne resume bheja.
