Chill out dude , dont waste u'r time preparing for the training or job.. U will get plenty of time 2 prepare once u are in the training ... As for now, ash karo and have a good time.. Coz if u get stuck up in a bad project or bench (two worst cases) , U wont be able 2 enjoy !!!!!!!

Very rightly said. You'll have good 1.5 or 3.5 months of E&R; training based on what your background is. These would arguably be the best times ahead for you in Infosys. Trust me.
Also, beware of the first 2-3 days.. You'll need a lots of patience to just sit and listen through the lectures.
Enjoy your time now and work hard later when you join.

Me too selected in infy and got the confirmation mail on 5th jan.i belongs to delhi and of mechanical background.i got through all the post but still i have queries
1.plz plz suggest some pre-joining preparation as i am a mechanical engineer passed out in 2003 and dont rememeber even FOR loop.
2.generally what r the various fields given to NON-CS students.
3.and whats the job profile after training.i know it depends on the company but tell me some fields like someone had written Mainframe etc.
4.also tell me is there any use of mechanical softwares like PRO-E,IDEAS,CATIA in infy.should i do that.
any other suggestions by seniors are welcome.

u have 2 types of training........
1. Generic
2. Stream specific
Generic training is common for everyone who joins INFY.
u have C,RDBMS as the main courses being taught there.. :)
better u learn them bfore joining :)
no one knows in which stream u will be trained when it comes to stream specific training ..... so, better don't think abt that

the generic training will be for around 2 1/2 months :).....
the duration of stream specific training depends on the stream you will be put into....
if u r put into Enterprise Solutions, u will be trained for 2 months....
for Internet Stream and Open Systems Stream u will be trained for around 1 1/2 months.
regd mainframe technology, i have no idea coz i'm from ES Stream :)...
the probability that u will be put into Mainframes technology is very low :). Pray god that u will not be put into Mainframes

i want to know that after the 6 months of trainig is thier any hike in the package. If so the how much(prbably give the range) or will it continue till ur 1 year ends.

Well to answer u'r query abt hike in pay - u get a pay hike only after a year. i.e. if i join in JULY i get "confirmed" only next july .. So my hike starts from august ... And someone had a doubt regarding Mainframes.. There are still lots of mainframe projects around, and infy's training is supposedly on of the best .. So dont come in with any sort of bais against any technology.. For all u know, u maybe trained in Internet Stream and made to work on a mainframe project or vice versa.. So just enjoi u'r time and wait for the fun 2 begin ..................

i advise u NOT TO DO any course before joining INFY .. They will teach u everything themselves.. I hope i cannot be more clearer ....
