i've to join on 18th of april-mysore..
jst wanted to know what should i do to prepare myself..
i've heard they take regular quizzes and tests etc etc ..
though im a comp engg but my knowledge about prgrming can be matched by any high school student...
should i brush up my os,database,c++ etc etc
any golden rule to follow??

ps:and what if u perform miserably in tests???

Chill buddy .. Dont worry ... Thr training wont be sooo tough .. If u dont feel really confident abt basics, just concentrate in the classes.. You will definetely do a good job, no worries.. Also Mysore will be a great place to enjoi

Since i am from a comp sci background (having so-so working knowledge!!) and a BIG CAT ASPIRANT :2gunfire: so wat shd i do?? :nervous: Do some brush up of fundas or go for cat prep now?

All i can say is go ahead and prepare for CAT...I don;t think Infy needs any brushing up of fundaes when it asks freshers to join.

Just came upon this thread n was surprised to find so many queries being asked n being answered, all the thanks to Manpreet, its_my_life, nothinglessthan6calls n others...
Myself working in Infy pune for the last 1.5 yrs leaving it though in a month...
Almost all doubts i suppose have been answered , but i wld like to add sth:
Preparation before joining:As u might b aware, infy gives a training to new joinees. in case u r from CS background, it wld be 1.5 mnths otherwise for 3.5-4 mnths.Its true that there wld be frequent tests but its nothing to be afraid off. the training is pretty cool n U DON`T NEED TO PREPARE ANYTHING BFORE HAND EVEN IF U R NOT FROM CS BACKGROUND.take my word for it.just chill folks.anyways having a prior knowledge of things like RDBMS, C prog, Oracle wld help u in understanding things but its not essential ..u folks can pick it up during the training only
Training location:Most of you would be given a joining date in Mysore only. The reason being that mysore DC has been specifically made for the trainees. Going down the line in a few mnths all training is to be done in Mysore DC only.They have special arrangements for trainees there.The accomodation is being provided equivalent to a 3 star hotel.So its not surprising that most of u have got mysore as ur location
About date of joining:The dates of joining again depend on the current training batch.Usually a new batch is taken whenver the traing of the previous batch gets over. based on that, those of u who ven`t got the dates shld be getting about 1.5 mnths after the latest dates which ve been provided.

Cinema Halls, Markets, Banks (esp which ATMs), food, etc etc... thos who have already undergone their training at Mysore can be of grt help in this context...
So come forward INFY SENIORS !! & tell us something pleasant & interesting bout Training at Mysore. 😃 😃 . My joining is 8th Aug.
& Yes, 1 v Imp thing - Wats the sex ratio in Mysore...??

I joined Infosys in June last year.Training sometimes get very hectic. so u have to be good at time management to prepare for CAT.
(ii) They do provide weekdays off. 😃
(iii) In mysore, Only Time is there. If you can take some time out of ur schedule for cat preparation , then form a group and study. Otherwise,Time will help you in building a routine for cat preparation
(iv) Internet access is available to trainees after 5 PM .

Kud u tell me what kud I do with my 2 month vacations wrt Infy trainig since I cant just kill time and many of u believe that Infy trainig itself is self-sufficient?
I last touched c++ almost an year and half back and that too mildlyand coming from a non-IT branch, wud it make my training difficult?
Also anything about what u wished u had prepared for or studied in advance or adjusted to before joinig Infy, then please tell me..
Or just add an interesting list of " DID U Know" about Infy for us.
How do u pass time after job?

......... whether u are a comp sci or non CS grad, u will be trained with u'r a$$ being thoroughly whipped They expect only "Learnability" from u...
