Its better u start preparing asap try to give GMAT in Oct as most of colleges will b havin their deadlines in November.
For starting Prep for GMAT start with OG 11/12. Or better give a test to know abe the exam where u stand n what u need to preppare. Test is available @ mba.com for free.

I have recently joined this forum with a question in mind, I am looking towards doing my higher education as a Management guy alongwith my work.
I am currently a HR guy, but my MBA was a correspondence one, and as a result do not get valued much in the corporate world, have 4+ years of exp. Could anyone please let me know, if there are any courses in Bangalore offered by the IIM's for working professionals and would be valued on par with a regular MBA.

Doing an MBA is all your personal choice.. depends on ur interests.. and where you want to land with a well established career.... definitely an MBA can add up a lot to your profile... if u want to go for a career shift.. or wish to work in a management role.. rather than manufacturing.. or automobiles... no one can suggest you whether to go for it or not... decide on your own.. best I can say.. your WE sounds pretty good to get into a good decent MBA anywhere in the world..!!:-P

Preparing for GMAT, 2 options. rather join some coaching insti or self study... equally good... GMAT unlike CAT or IITs don't require extensive coaching for the subjects... more thn that it's all about researching properly.... not just GMAT but the whole application procees... u can easily get good decent material on the net.. discuss with those who are already preparing... or the ones who have already scored...

Start researching and getting info about different colleges which can provide the things you want.... make a list of priority ... why u want to do MBA.. and thn match with wat a particular college has to offer.. you can always start with rankings on the net... one of them being "financial times rankings".. you can google it.... follow the ranking and study each college....!!
next.. decide when you are ready to take GMAT... start your preparations.. try to work on different sections seperately.. and figure out where you lag .... be in touch with the Pagal Guys... go through as many threads as possible.. take views.. and suggestions from the people out here... and when soon m sure.. you will be most comfortable and clear..!! :-P
