IRMA aspirants

I have heard from some seniors there is no GD in IRMA
But seniors pls tell us the correct information.

Well friends
Also we should not neglect the GD part .For GD we need fluency in speaking . I can give very good points . But not confident of speaking without interrupting . But will try hard .

there is a GD+GT and an interview post the written exam...in GD fluency is never needed..just the assertiveness and the confidence..the interviewers favour thos who don't create a nuisance value and all persons are given a chance to pseak..so itz the content that matters and fluency wil add flavours to it...

Plz remember being confident does not mean u hav 2 b haughty and a show off.
U dont have 2 b some1 who wants to "sacrifice" himself for the rural poor.
IRMA breeds managers who are not money making machines....they giv priority to the human aspect and that does not mean u will not c money!! :)

try 2 think abt aspects tht affect life of ppl....try 2 hav "views" abt things and at the same time try 2 master the art of listening 2 wat othrs say...(it IS difficult)

Start believin tht this world has a lot of good ppl...

Thanx Ninja ..
You gave me the confidence to speak the truth .

Thanks a lot Ninja that was a really nice quote.Gives a lot of considence and also a good perspective to look for.

Indiatimes Learning..........Campus/IRMA
this will help u people to know abt the history of IRMA..

Hey Buddies,

I am attaching a document in which i with the support of my batch mates have listed out the topics of last year GD. Hope this helps u in your prepartion.
good god
i remember nothing from electronics
shd start dusting papers .. ??: ..
plz someone throw light on the difficulty level too ..

me too from electonics back grnd + 4 yrs work exp in software. interview went without any questions from engg, but i really had to work hard to convince them why i want to join irma. they asked usual questions like IIM A or IRMA ? whether IIMA is a better place like that.
like others have said answer from mind and not heart.
all the best for the results

Like I said, we will ask the rest of the PG.com members of our batch 2 pool in with their experiences abt the GD+GT+interview...I start off...Hope I remember most if not all...wil chip in later if sumthin more comes 2 my mind.
Here it goes...
GD: Topic: "Should there be reservation from the Industrial sectors in the parliament?" (wordings may vary)
Experience:
1.>I could speak ONLY twice. But managed to ensure that when I spoke nobody else opened their mouth. And ended of watvr I had 2 say b4 any1 started off again.
2.>The observers ensured that ALL people got a chance to speak. There were two ppl in our grp who never spoke. They were given the chance to speak at the end. If such a thing happens to u don't sulk..speak when u get the chance...put forth a SOLID point. Game is yours.
3.>One particular guy spoke a lot.He almost did NOT let others speak . He did not get through.
4.>Learn from other groups that excessive hand movement was DISCOURAGED. Just don't o it.

Group Task:
Decide upon a Ranking of 10 items (forgot wat they were)
Experience:
1.> Somebody has to compromise to come to the solution.
2.> It is very difficult to get till the end of the ranking. In fact, very few groups that I know of could complete the process. We did NOT.
3.>It is better to think of the common target of goin thru with the ranking as much as u can and 4grt abt issues like ur logic not being listened to. Try to convince ppl with solid points if u CAN NOT.... go ahead...its better to accept someone elses suggestion than 2 appear like "The Lone Man Standing"...

PLEASE NOTE: There is NOTHING right or wrong....its just abt how you can analyse. SO don't think that each of the GD+GT has some solution ready with IRMA....its just there and u hav 2 show how good or bad u r at understandin and analysisng issues.

Interview:
will get back with this on a separate post....will list all the questions that I can remember.
get back if u hav any particular concern...

Take care...

These are some of the Group Task topics whch our batchmates had faced.
1. Rank characteristics of a political leader
2. Essential qualities of a leader.
3. why the children of today are spoilt...ten reasons were given
4. qualities 10 of an executive
5. prioritizing 10 stated problems in a developing society first individually n then at group level
6. Ranking the problems of the government system like corruption, lack of motivation, lack of innovation, etc
7. How to reach 100% literacy in India.
As Ninja rightly pointed out there is nothing right or wrong but it is just how good u r as a member of a team. Hope u guys find it useful. c ya. Keep the good work going.

can anybody say wat ll be the cut off of xbim for rural management through irma as soon as poss

well about my GD and GT well i must say that i landed in an amazing group which was very supportive both in GD and GT everyone got a chance to speak and people were unusualy polite so much so that until and unless a person had expressed himself fully no one interferred.

my GD topic was "impact of Law enforcement agencies on people"(not the exact topic)
due to the coordination almost all aspects of the topic were brought out
everyone got a chance to speak in the discussion
one guy was being extra cooperative and intervened 2-3 times during the discussion just to allow others who were not speaking to b given a chance "Mr.empowerment" did not get thru

in GT too there was remarkable coordination in the group and even before the 20mins alloted for our GT got over we were able to rank the "10 factors neccesary for effective functioning of a democracy".

9 out of 10 members from my group got thru.:)

Hi

When will IRMA results be declared?

Thanks

Tanveer

Guys IIFT results are out. This exam was conducted on the same day the IRMA exam was conducted.Considering that they had far more people writing the exam..i think they did a pretty good job in coming out with results so early.Guess IRMA is due soon...any idea about it seniors and also what time of the year are the GDs and PIs held usually?
