gmatt - 710 (Q-51, V-34, AWA-6)
EC - decent.volleyball at statelevels in school.
formed a cricket team in blore for weekend matches.
Exp -4.5 years
3 years in a R&D; tech startup. have started filing process for 4 patents last year.
doing business development as well.
interview lasted for 10-15 mins. most of the questions were abt my company. very lil abt me.
had a weird exp though before the interview.
was scheduled for 3:20 but was called in at 5:00. even the gal who was scheduled to be interviewed after me was called in at 3:30 and she was escorted out by 3:35.
then i was made to wait for 1.5 hrs and i hadnt seen my panelists come out and take anyone in during that time. every panel had finished off by 4:30 that day but i was still waiting for my turn till 5:00. finally they called me in and talked abt the company i work in.
dont know what to make of it. felt as if i was rejected and forgotten even before the interview had taken place.
We are same guys here after 2013 thread ... lol i m already missing u guys.... was trying to tag friends hehe
I too am an aspirant and would seek your support and encouragement to achieve the dream...
Mad bhai,
This is what you call part time??? Even a full time volunteer will not do this much. If this is what you have done, you should include it in your application. In reality no one in the adcom asks you about the certificates and all during the interviews. They just check your confidence, honesty, commitment towards the society and more than any other thing "the level of leadership skills in you". If you can show them the last thing (what they love to call Extra Curricular) they will be happy and flexible enough to include you in the final list even without the certificates.
Dont worry my friend.go ahead with your application.
Mad,
I dont know at what level you are currently but you can anytime begin with Manhattan SC guide and the OG. Follow PG and Beat the gmat websites. Both of them have excellent stuff out there. Have a look over the material and let me know if that sounds good.and yes we are here to help each other so dont you worry mate.
Thanks Anuj for your nice words.
I am not sure were will I land but yes at this stage with I wish to target for some big leap.
Well that was quite good to hear if it evaluates out to be a part of good profile call for me.
Can you suggest me some good study stuff and ebooks links available for more preparation and standardized.
I am struggling to get the online study stuff from myself.
Please help!
MadCapz!

Ok puys
I am finally going to tell you all why I so badly wanted an admit this year. My MBA aspirations started in 2010 when I only wanted to be in IIM-B. Awestruck till date at their placement scenarios and study culture. Had applied last year, and got a ding. Bad move as it was the only school I had applied to. Been wanting to move back to India for some time now. Expanded my horizon and MBA from the Indian tier-1 colleges (IIM-A/B/C, ISB) seemed to fit in nicely with my scheme of things.
Then came the twist. A guy passed by and I fell for him (autumn leaves started floating around and SRK's violin tune kept playing in the background)To make things worse, he got an admit in R1, ISB Hyd co2013. The only way to end the India-SG distance was for me to get into ISB - same campus, same batch. Went all out for it (not losing focus for IIM applications too - got a ding from A without interview, have calls from B and C). Did everything possible under the sun to get an admit in ISB. Didn't work (4 months less workex fell heavy on my efforts :-()
And my worst fears came true. We fell apart just 2 hours after I received the ISB email (explains why i went MIA from the co2013 thread?). Really sad but GLAD to be out of a relationship that has its fate resting on distance and B-school admit terms. Had got my life stuck at a point from where I couldn't see anything beyond ISB and him. SO VERY GLAD to move on right now.
That was my story (of course, kept far away from the adcom's reach). Mustang28 and another puy, who shared their stories in the previous thread, made me smile in silence. You guys are not alone! Wanted to share this for a long time now, but was waiting for the results
Definitely glad to have embarked on this race. Earned me an admit (albeit deferred, but a valuable one) and some great friends here. Have a lot of thinking to do on this admit as of now, as WhiteWNNoise mentioned. Reserving the seat before venturing into other interviews might be a sensible thing to do. Not sure yet...
can anyone shed some light on IIM-Bangalore Vs ISB for a 5Yr exp guy??

Welcome aboard, Munish.........guys, this dude is a real badass.........he hasn't gotten into any premier school as of now by quirks of fate, but he has got TREMENDOUS tenacity (not to mention his awesome QA skills)...........
Prep well bro, and seal the deal............few know me better than you, and vice versa. So if I can crack ISB, you should breeze through..........
ATB dude
Looking at how this thread is progressing, I already like co2014
(And I'll be suspended from PG soon for all my random
posts throughout the day
) I received a call from an unknown number from India last evening. Screamed hello a lot of times, there was no response. I was wondering after I hung up, if it was the Adcom wanting to convert my deferred to an immediate π . And then i realized, I should stop day-dreaming
So is it like the 2-year course at IIM-B (a stupid question, but am prone to asking them)?? I'll say it's IIM-B then..........Reasons are:
1. A slightly better global brand
2. Your learning is more holistic
3. If you have like taken CAT and barged into IIM-B, you are kinda awesome, and you need to iron out whatever the rough edges you have. A two-year program gives you that.
4. Summer internship. Really helps you get a feel of the field, and if you manage to get a PPO from an elite org, it's cherry.
