i donno abt international applications but for indian candidates their interviews are slightly weird. they concentrate more on general awareness and previous acad subjects.

8 reject out of 10. What about the other 2 where you got the admits. didnt feel like going there ?

Some of us here are starting GMAT prep on 22nd feb. you can join in if you want.... πŸ˜ƒ
Hello Friends,

This is Arjun...

I have heard that GMAT format will be changing soon...and if it's June, then I will have 3 months...please suggest me few books guys...I have OG12 with me.....and also if u can give some tips from ur past experience...

Cheers!!!

Arjun, the best way to prep wud be to first download the GMAT test from The Official GMAT Website . Give the first one without any prep and the second one with full prep (just days before ur actual gmat). depending on the results of the first test, u would know ur weak areas. Manhattan SC is great. So you would want to keep that with you. You might want to get urself OG Verbal Review too for more practice. For CR, i think you should have a look at CR Bible. Many have posted different views that OG is enough for CR vs OG CR is totally different from the exam CR. CR Bible should prepare you for CR.

What else is left..... Oh yeah RC... Personally I think OG is more than sufficient for RC. Loads of passages and questions. Plus OG Verbal Review will also help.

For quant, OG is more than enough to battle out any sort of problems.

And for practice tests, get Manhattan tests. (buy any Manhattan GMAT book and get the tests along with it)

In that case, Aritro can have 25% and me 25% .... You might be thinking "why WhiteWNNoise....?" ... Cause I called dibs (now) right after Aritro was reminded of his ISB degree...

Hello puys

I am in too. I was rejected after interview in R2. Put all my eggs in one basket last time around and now in a very uneasy place. Glad to see the positive energy and motivation on this thread. Good luck every one.

Sharing the treasures? Gimme a part (just because I lived in the Co2013 thread for some months).

hhhmmmm.... ok !!!! but u will have to swear that you will be upto no good and that you will be an active member of 2014 and live better on this forum than the last one...

Then isb2012 gets 15%, Aritro gets 15% (cos he already has ISB bonus) and I get 20% (cos i called dibs first).

There settled....

Hi,

and, let make 2014 thread a huge success with lots of sharing

Copy pasted the question in bold on Mr. VK Menon's thread. Awaiting response.

Just Noticed in the Mr V K Menon thread that this query has not been answered. Queries posted after this has been responded. May be that adcom thinks it's too naive to answer a question whose obvious answer is yes.
Anddd here I come.... for the Co2014... I gt dinged this time and here's my profile:

Male-27Yrs, Marine Engineer, presently at the rank of 2nd Assistant engineer,
already have the necssary number of recommendations for the promotion to 1st Assistant Engr, only need to clear the exams which I did not appeared for as I was confident of getting into Co2013 :banghead:

GMAT-710 (Q-49, V-38, AWA-5.5)
EC: Pretty decent, no community work though, but represented college in various Cricket and Football tournaments) Organized a few culturals in college....

Interview Experience: It was a pretty cool interview (or so I thought) and the panelists seemed to be pretty convinced with the answers..... gave me a case study too with lots of cross questioning on every solution provided by me..... I guess the basic point where i messed it up is "Why MBA?". See my basic reason here is that I want to shift to a land based job and not wander around like pirates but for the obvious reasons I cant state that to the adcom.... but that would have also affected my future goals part.... anyways would come to know abt the actual points only after I get the feedback ....

Anyways, it's just a start of a long journey again..... but i'm sure with the fellow puys, the journey would be again as beautiful as will be the sweet destination and we sure will make it this time....

Hey Puys, What do u think, Do I need to retake GMAT??? Will it make any difference at all even if I'm able to increase by 20 odd points????

Hi Fellow puys,

I am in the Management Analytics domain with a bit of consulting involved, want to explore more about management consulting domain.Need help from puys about how should I go about it.To be specific I am in search of
1)Right and good sources to get an insight into these industries like any newsletter or magazine, forums.
2)ISB alum from this field who can guide me in understanding this domain and give their inputs.

This will really help me to understand where do I stand and how much I have to work to get in there. This ultimately will help me in building my case for ISB.
