ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

Why do u guys think ISB dint allott consequtive numbers to all the (atleast) interview invitees?? For sure not without any logic no matter what they say.. How would it be convenient for them to have numbers (read so random) such as yy,yyy, yyyy or 2014/yy or 2014/yyyyy.. So there is something .. Thank God we have only 2 days left otherwise im sure this number change discusdion would have taken this thread past 500 mark πŸ˜ƒ

Sudhir, no matter what happens... you figure this thing out when you volunteer to help the adcom next year ... okay?

For those who have their number changed from yyyy to yy.Is there a change in the application status too like interviewed on xx date. Also except for two guys I dont think anyone's number changed yet to two digits. For me its a 4 digit number and status is shortlisted.

Guys I have been asking this to many people without any luck .. Any idea how many offers will be released in R1?? I feel at least 300-350 ( with 75-100 on wait list) .. Same with R2 .. In total R1+R2 will 650 odd confirm admits and around 150 in waitlist of which they will give 100 offers ..

I don't know any person who was interviewed in Delhi and their application number got changed post interview. Almost all the ppl from Delhi I know had their reference number changed from 14xxxx to 5yyy or 6yyy when they received the call. No changes after that. Seems like a location specific thing.

Guys..Do we need to submit proofs for achievements mentioned in the essays and job responsibilities/ achievements section also?
@sudhir3127 50% offers plus a waitlist i believe, they have to make sure that they get atleast 50% of the seats filled in round 1 if not more, i dont think any school fills up more seats in its last round

Would like to add my opinion here. I believe schools would, in all likelihood, fill up less than 50% seats in R1, considering the applicant pool is much larger in R2. So, I would safely assume that it will select around 300 in R1 and keep another 100 on waitlist.
After reviewing applications from R2, they might collate those R1 waitlisted and reorganize the list to have another 470 odd final admits from R2 results. And keep another 100 odd waitlisted.
To summarize:
Confirmed offers from R1: 300
Waitlists from R1: 100
Confirmed offers from R2: 450-470 (This would include the 100 R1 waitlisted candidates as well)
Waitlists from R2: 100
Okay, if my assumption is something to go by, then out of the 1200 odd applications, 800-900 must have been called for interview and 300 would be selected. A ratio of 4:3:1 from Round 1 only.
@debjeet Thanks bro .. But isn't interviewing 4:3 very high ? I thought this time the interview invites were pretty less compared to last year ..

well, looking at the no. of applicants (~1400) and the no. of seats that will get tentatively filled (say 300), the ratio is possible..

@sudhir3127 Hmmmm... quite possible. But I would like to point out that the sample population size here in pagalguy is very small to depict the overall picture correctly. There are many who are just following this thread and not participating in discussions.

The assumptions that I made are as follows:

The number of days interviews were held in each location:

Delhi: 4

Mohali: 5

Kolkata: 3

Hyderabad: 29

For Delhi:

Considering 2 panels were interviewing 10 students each every day: 10 X 2 X 4 = 80

For Mohali:

Considering 2 panels were interviewing 10 students each every day: 10 X 2 X 5 = 100

For Kolkata:

Considering 2 panels were interviewing 10 students each every day: 10 X 2 X 3 = 60

For Hyderabad:

Considering 3 panels were interviewing 8 students each every day: 8 X 3 X 29 = 696

Total candidates interviewed: 80 + 100 + 60 + 696 = 936 (Approximately)

Moreover, assuming a worse ratio is better for me to be mentally prepared for the very unfortunate scenario, just in case :(

I've totally no knowledge of last year's stats whatsoever. Reapplicants might be able to guide us better.

Hari - I'm almost confident that the R1 applicants won't be more than 1300 definitely. I submitted my app at around 11.45 on 15th September and my app no was below 1210.... Would you think more than 90 apps were submitted in the last 15 mins?

not expecting an admit offer , one day ISB would wish that I would have been their Alumni.

hi puys,

any calls for ppl from hyd(chn) ? my app number has changed from 5 digit to 2014/yyyy.. with just two days away for the final list to be announced for R1 acc to the website.. Are there any chances of an interview call after this?????

@debjeet In mohali, there was only one panel with 6 ppl to be interviewed on my interview day....when i asked the guys at the reception, they told that around 7 - 8 candidates are interviewed daily...

Beg to differ, but there were 85 candidates being interviewed by 9 panels only on the 10th of November. When I asked for details, I was told that about 40 were interviewed on the 8th, 60 on 9th, 84 on the 10th and again, about 40 on the last day, i.e. 11th Nov. So that makes it about 220 to 230 for Delhi alone.
@debjeet And in Hyderabad, there were 6-7 panels with a list of exactly 50 ppl to be interviewed on my interview day....! so nothing can be estimated at all....

Well, that strengthens the 4 : x : 1 conversion ratio all the more!

Hahahahaahaa.... Thanks for your inputs
Curious Curious ! Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back !!!
Then, were all the 1200 applicants interviewed for R1? πŸ˜› Anyway, let's not speculate and enjoy our Diwali !!
All the best to everyone.
@sugamtaneja In Delhi there were just 4 rooms booked for interview and there were 4 panels. Panel 2 (the panel that interviewed me) told me they had interviewed 5 ppl on 8th nov.
