I was interviewed on Nov 2nd and incl me there were 8 candidates on that day !!
hey puys.. did u read this??
When I attended the ISB information fair sometime back, they clearly told that ISB offers equal number of seats in both the rounds and its irrespective in which round you apply.
With all the estimates and stuff, you have created some unprecedented number-crunching here. ISB would LOVE to have you :)
@debjeet said:Hari - I'm almost confident that the R1 applicants won't be more than 1300 definitely. I submitted my app at around 11.45 on 15th September and my app no was below 1210.... Would you think more than 90 apps were submitted in the last 15 mins?
95% of the applications were submitted during last 5 hours for fall 2012
I submitted my app on 12th morning
Hi @anu_161, other Puys,
I had my skype interview on 10th evening, India time... I travelled to India on vacation a few hours later, so posting now π Its middle of the night in India and jetlag is making me sit up and check pagalguy, ISB website, etc. desparately hoping the results will be out early!!
Anyway, my panel had both alumni... I had to call as well as do video thru skype... They grilled me mostly about my app, why ISB, what do you think about so-so happening in your industry, etc.. One of the panelists seem to be blatantly exchanging looks with the other one, while I was answering, seemed unprofessional to me!! What can I say, the panelists did not exactly inspire my confidence in the interview process or in my performance! π Keeping my fingers crossed until 15th...
Assuming yield rate of say 80%, the no of offers in R1 would be ~ 62% + 10%(waitlist).
Assuming yield rate of say 90%, the no of offers in R2 would be ~ 55% + 5%(waitlist)
Assuming x = no of seats available.
So we have 1.17x admits + 0.07x waitlists in total which roughly translates to be ~ 400 admits + ~ 45 waitlists in R1 and ~350 admits + ~ 25 waitlists.
So with say 3000 in both rounds, we have around 1800 ppl getting interviewed considering Sudhir's numbers. Going with that the ratio would be 5:3:1
Going by this ratio, it is highly likely that you might not see again the face of the interviewee one before and after you.

Guys,
So when do we expect the results for R1 Interviews? Tomorrow 5 PM?

Last year, the results started pouring in after 5 PM in a phased manner. The rejects were sent communication in the end. So the longer the wait, the more chances of either in the waitlist or in reject list.
Fingers crossed everyone! I am gonna have heck of a time trying to sleep for the next couple of nights...:D
i have a general question.. has the number of applicants come down this year compared to last.. does anyone have any data on this.. I know from previous posts that close to 1400 ppl applied this year.
