ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

I was interviewed on Nov 2nd and incl me there were 8 candidates on that day !!

hey puys.. did u read this??

http://www.pagalguy.com/news/isb-shifts-placements-mohali-algorithm-decide-choice-campus-candidates-a-29411

When I attended the ISB information fair sometime back, they clearly told that ISB offers equal number of seats in both the rounds and its irrespective in which round you apply.

@Ballistic I second that....but its only 2 days left now..as I am in UK 1.5 for me...:)

With all the estimates and stuff, you have created some unprecedented number-crunching here. ISB would LOVE to have you :)

Relax guys. Go out. Booze. Score big on cards. Score bigger, if you can, with the opposite sex. Watch some crappy sappy movies (cue JTHJ music).

Go, play. Pronto!!!

Hari - I'm almost confident that the R1 applicants won't be more than 1300 definitely. I submitted my app at around 11.45 on 15th September and my app no was below 1210.... Would you think more than 90 apps were submitted in the last 15 mins?
I attended an infosession at mumbai - vashi with ISB adcom - Mr Rupesh
95% of the applications were submitted during last 5 hours for fall 2012

He suggested to be ready with the app a week in advance.
I submitted my app on 12th morning

Hi @anu_161, other Puys,

I had my skype interview on 10th evening, India time... I travelled to India on vacation a few hours later, so posting now πŸ˜ƒ Its middle of the night in India and jetlag is making me sit up and check pagalguy, ISB website, etc. desparately hoping the results will be out early!!

Anyway, my panel had both alumni... I had to call as well as do video thru skype... They grilled me mostly about my app, why ISB, what do you think about so-so happening in your industry, etc.. One of the panelists seem to be blatantly exchanging looks with the other one, while I was answering, seemed unprofessional to me!! What can I say, the panelists did not exactly inspire my confidence in the interview process or in my performance! 😞 Keeping my fingers crossed until 15th...

Generally speaking, ISB might waitlist more people in R1 than in R2 to mitigate the risk of getting fewer quality apps in R2. Also the yield rate would be slightly less in R1 compared to R2 because of greater college options available.

Assuming yield rate of say 80%, the no of offers in R1 would be ~ 62% + 10%(waitlist).
Assuming yield rate of say 90%, the no of offers in R2 would be ~ 55% + 5%(waitlist)
Assuming x = no of seats available.
So we have 1.17x admits + 0.07x waitlists in total which roughly translates to be ~ 400 admits + ~ 45 waitlists in R1 and ~350 admits + ~ 25 waitlists.

So with say 3000 in both rounds, we have around 1800 ppl getting interviewed considering Sudhir's numbers. Going with that the ratio would be 5:3:1

Going by this ratio, it is highly likely that you might not see again the face of the interviewee one before and after you.

Damn! Just 1 more day to go.... As time passes, I regret more and more my decision to fly from Singapore to Delhi just for the interview. Once I flew the same route back and forth over a weekend to meet my girlfriend.... A week later she dumped me... I just hope things are a bit different tomorrow... :)

Yep, I agree. I thought 95% of the apps were submitted in the last 2 hours as we are well-known to do things at the very last minute (especially engineering grads )
However, 90 apps in the last 15 mins looks very unlikely to me.
Whatever be it, All the best buddy.

Guys,

So when do we expect the results for R1 Interviews? Tomorrow 5 PM?

@RJB1 probably.. I am also not sure..

Safe to say that one should refresh his/her mailbox until midnight tomo :)

Last year, the results started pouring in after 5 PM in a phased manner. The rejects were sent communication in the end. So the longer the wait, the more chances of either in the waitlist or in reject list.

Fingers crossed everyone! I am gonna have heck of a time trying to sleep for the next couple of nights...:D

@RJB1 "couple" of nights?

i have a general question.. has the number of applicants come down this year compared to last.. does anyone have any data on this.. I know from previous posts that close to 1400 ppl applied this year.

@debjeet I am in Canada...so tonight and tomorrow night :D
