ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

Is the feedback provided in a one-on-one session? I always thought that the feedback would be via an email......

If they feel that your GMAT score is on the lower side based on the competitiveness of your application pool and on your previous acad scores, they would let you know.

Feedback lene ke samay, dun be embarrassed to ask anything. Dun keep it inside. Let it out. Who knows, maybe they will provide an answer to your dilemma.

Aaah! 1st of March'12 and hunt for the coveted ISB 2013-14 admit begins!

Hi, even I screwed up my 1st attempt coz of verbal but you could definitely pick it up. I used the much less known e-gmat verbal course the 2nd time - really worked well for me and my verbal score improved from 27 to 37 in my 2nd attempt. I retook gmat in the span of 3 months. Would definitely recommend that you try e-gmat verbal for SC and CR.

All the best dude - put in some more zeal and you will score high in your next attempt!

Hi guys... I appeared for gmat earlier but ended up with less than 600 score 😞 nemesis was verbal.

I have gone through SC grail, manhattan CR and OG etc. but somehow can't understand what exactly went wrong. At the time of test..got little nervous 😐 not sure if this could be the only reason.

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Yes.. If they feel it, they do tell it... I was a re-applicant this time and last time I got this feedback, that "you could try to improve your score a bit, even if by 10-20 points since you are from the competitive IT pool" (I was wait-listed and later dinged last year)

Untill last to last year feedback used to be a email affair, but starting last year ISB took a new initiative and started having a call to give feedback (very good initiative I must say, much better than an email).
I hope they continue that this year as well.

When you'll ask for feedback in April they will schedule a call with you and tell you in advance to call. You can discuss anything and everything.

Hi,

Whats the latest of the supposed new integrated reasoning section on the GMAT (due in June 2012). Is it a seperately scored section? Or will it contribute towards your GMAT score on 800?

Hmm........kewl profile........you just need to score good and defend the RnD >>> Brand Mgmt switch........ATB dude πŸ˜ƒ

This is slightly off topic but i thought our puys would have some good advice
I am a ISB 2013 Reject (5.5 yrs IT exp,GMAT 740) and i want to re-apply this year to all the premier 1 yr programs in India including ISB(Missed some deadlines last year as i took the GMAT late)
The situation is that i have a valid US Visa on hand and my company is ready to send me ASAP if i am willing to go,however i'm in a dilemma whether to stay back in India and apply in person or
travel abroad and handle the applications from there
Does anybody know how easy or how hard it is to manage applications/interviews
with IIMs, XLRI-GMP and SP Jain from abroad ?
I think applying to ISB would be the easiest, however not so sure about IIM
XLRI and SP Jain, there is some offline stuff involved(physical docs) and also not sure if they entertain telephone/skype interviews

really confused here, please chip in with some advice

CO2014 !!! This will create a lot of confusion, isn't it? Those who will actually get into CO2014 will have to create some other group when the time comes.

Moreover we are CO2014 applicants as of now...

Folks,
Am also an ISB CO2014 aspirant.

But I've few questions:
I might sound like a pessimist guy but still would like to ask this question:
Is paying fees $40K worth? I mean for a guy like me who is from a middle class Indian family, this is really too expensive.
I understand education is not expenditure, it's investment.
But for initial decision making, it's kind of tough.
I know here we are discussing the pre-admission stuff and we're just aspirants. But this is too expensive, isn't this?

Yes, there are some scholarships available. But for a guy who is recently married and whose wife is also not working, isn't it a tough call?

Regards,
Chaitu

PS: Apologies if I have posted this in wrong forum.

As you rightly mentioned, it is expensive and that it is an investment. Many like you and me are from same category of society. Do not depend on scholarships. If you get it, its gr8 else you can get education loan from banks without any collateral.

Plus with the job that you get after ur mba from isb, the salary will be sufficient to pay you monthly loan emi plus work out your monthly expenses and live a modest life for a start.
