Yes. I am from the 'infamous' IT background and got an offfer mail yesterday. Few of the calls may be sent out today, as there was a technical glitch reported by some of the puys, based on their chat with the Adcom.
Can you please share your profile? Thanks a lot...V.

Congrats to all those who made it. Please do us a favour and upload your video essays on youtube. it will be very helpful for next year's application .

@travellersoul Hello travellersoul πŸ˜ƒ Time flies.. we are already giving gyan to the incoming class !
@turturri I know of someone who was in the same situation last year. Let me know if you want me to connect you to him.

@Fellow admits:

Who all are from Delhi ? Let's meet up sometime ?

Sorry I cannot join the facebook page yet - I haven't advertised my admit at work till now, and FB will leak everything !

BTW, I am a re applicant, having applied twice earlier (2010,2011). 2010 was reject w/o interview. 2011 was reject after interview.

So, people who got rejected - apply back next year !

If it helps, I am for Telecom/IT background.

Brief profile: 4 WE/740 GMAT/ decent extra curricular activities with some international exp.

+ Anyone who's done a in depth analysis of Mohali vs Hyd campus ? What's spl about each and how do recruiters look at them ? Will joining one or the other make an impact ? In what ways ?

@punters11 Get video pad editor for adding transitions. You can get the link from google

Hi guys

I am an R1 applicant and made it to Hyd campus for the co 2014.

If someone applying in R2 needs any assistance, I will be happy to help.

All the best!

Regards
Sudhanz

Some gyan for the interview from my own experience from last year as well as this year .....

Be Genuine...Say what you really feel and do not think that you need to showcase something that might attract the adcom's attention but is not really true . What I mean is if you have X,Y & Z of qualities just concentrate on those and not try to showcase A,B,C which you do not have but think might give your profile that edge.I am telling you these becoz a couple of my friends fell into this trap being greedy and got a ding. Be happy about what you really are becoz the people on the other side of the i/v table are way smarter than us and know it in an instant. Don't sound desperate to get into ISB , suppose they say that you dont need an MBA to do wt wanna do....try to understand their point of view behind giving you such a statement ,analyse it and give an answer truely why is it that you need an ISB mba...All the while being alert not to over push it with something vague. Its not a sin to admit that the goal that you have in mind might/might not need an mba however an mba from ISB would give you all those other things and make you complete as a professional . Suppose you do not know about some general affairs or current happenings say that you do not know becoz that will only prove that u are not updated with recent happennings however it will not affect ur candidature as an applicant with what you are good at. Keep going thru your profile, essays and achievements from now on and dont wait for that call becoz believe me you wont be able to ready ur brain in those 5-7 days time between the cal and the i/v. Thats the time when you should relax, watch movies...chill out and go to the interview happy :)

Hope to see more of you guys n girls as peers this year.

All the Best R2 friends!!!

@trailblazer123 ISB has done all that it takes to promote Mohali campus as an equal counterpart to Hydeabad. I think the only edge Hyd has over Mohali is the number of students are more, hence you could end up interacting with a lot more diverse group than in Mohali. My only reason for prefering the HYD campus. But then this is just my view...

I have a generic question.

In the 2nd essay question, my career goal is in a different industry with similar function. Is it ok to have an ambitious career goal and back it up or should u just play it safe and stick to something in line with what we are currently doing?

Frankly i don't think a similar function in a different industry is too ambitious to write in essays...

Hi guys .. Iam an R1 admit for Co14 .. I will be in Hyderabad starting tomorrow for next 1 week . Anybody wants to meet up plz pm me , will surely catch up and share my experiences

@punters11 It's ok to have a career goal in different industry as long as you can prove that you have done your research and its a logical career move ..Adcoms will also want to see if what have you done in the past or doing currently to move into this role other than just banking on an MBA ..

Can someone let me know if the amount for the non-refundable deposit in the email and the admission portal is different? It is different for me, just wanted to confirm with other R1 admits.

Thanks!

@target2013 The difference is because of service tax. Isn't it apprx 2.24 L INR?

I am planning to apply for R1 of 2013 with an experience of 7 years in IT. Would it be considered as a very high experience or would it be considered as negative? Which all good collages can be considered with this level of experience in Asia??

@sudhir3127 Thank you, I just checked again, and the amounts match now. You're right, must have been the service tax difference which I didn't notice before.
@as8584 r1 2013 was last yr .. I guess u meant R1 2015.. I am an R1 2014 admit at ISB with 8.5 yrs of exp .. So it's definitely not considered negative and on the contrary it's considered positive as you bring in quite a strong workex and leadership skills .. Apart for ISB , I would say IIM A Pgpx, Insead ( sgp) and Hkust

@soumidattaiitd What you say is correct, but cuts both ways - smaller batch size means stronger bonding and more cohesive community environment. I am judging this by the community experience shared by students at top International B schools with a batch size of 200-300 people.

Moreover, Mohali is closer to my homecity - Delhi. I think being at Mohali will make it easier to look for recruiters & positions based out of NCR. I am also more comfortable with the North Indian weather, food & the language(s) !
