@Abhichar You should check your application portal. Mail or not, the portal should have updated information IMO.
Thanks mvikred. Is there a separate link for checking the status OR its the "Apply PGP" link itself ?

@Abhichar Seems to be the same page man.

If someones application number is 61** and they received the verification yesterday.
I am assuming that the total number of applications would easily touch the 8k - 9k mark. That means the school will have to more selective than it was in the past (don't know historical numbers, but it looks like it will be more selective). Here's a guesstimate.

I submitted mine on 29th Nov and my application number is 46**. Considering majority of the applications are submitted on 30th, I could assume that at least 500 people submitted their application before me, approximately 4000 people applied in R1.

Going by historical numbers R2 always has higher number of applicants, which means its fair to assume that R2 can have easily 5000 applicants (a conservative number .. could definitely be more). For the sake of simplicity, if we consider that ISB would've received 9000 applicants this year then, 770 students out of 9000 ... thats a selectivity of 8-9%.... Damn !!! That selectivity is comparable to that of the top schools in the US. Not to scare anyone, but .. Damn !!!

ps: All the calculations are based on assumptions that I've made. please don't take them to be the real numbers.

Scary assumptions, indeed
@mvikred Application reference number is allotted internally when you create your login ID on the application portal, it in no way reflects the number of applicants. To get a fair figure on the number of submitted applications try downloading your submitted application as a pdf. The pdf will have a name like 142***_302****.pdf the first part 142*** indicated the number of applications submitted where 14 indicated the batch (graduating in 2014) and 2*** indicated your submission number which means you are the 2*** person submitting the application. I submitted my application on 30th november at 4:00 PM and got that number.

This forum is throwing all kinds of theories, to arrive at the number of applicants, and the probability of finally getting into the coveted 2014 batch.
The kind of thought process that is going beyond all these theories, are indeed marvellous. I would presume, the reality would lie somewhere between the 2 extremes, that proposed by mvikred and then by raghupro.
@raghupro If, as you suggested, the application reference number is generated when one creates an ID and not when one submits it, then all my calculations are incorrect. Someone might've created an ID before R1 but submit it now. I wonder if there is any way to get an estimate of the number of applications this year.
@Abhichar LOL ... It is obviously just for fun man !! ... Do not take it too seriously ;)

look at the previous pages guys, @raghupro is on the right Track. There are approx 4000 applicants for PGP 2013-14. Out of which, 1300 were R1 applicants. That leave ~ 2700 applicants competing for ~400 seats in R2.

guys are the results out for R2 interview shortlist?

@abyroy Nope, not yet. If you take my case I haven't even got application verification mail yet :D
@mvikred A simple verification, I got my application reference number as 694 as I created my ID long back but when I submitted my application the number I got on my pdf is 23** :)

But anyways, I myself captured this info from previous posts and it seems quite convincing for me :)
@raghupro same here dude ...
@raghupro Neverthless, this wait is killing. Can't stop scanning my emails, every 5 mins. The fact that I haven't received verification mail yet, adds to the anxiety.

phew! Got my application verification mail just now.. I submitted my app on 30th nov and recos on 3rd dec....it seems the applications are reviewed sequentially and the next review date is 21st dec... so all those who havn`t got the verification mail yet should get it by then.
