720 is pretty good yaar.. and your grads are pretty high..
Wait for the feedback in April before you dcide on the retake.
Thanks,
But sadly i think they look for something outstanding in you .. and i feel an awesome GMAT could help me in on one such note. i think the bulk of candidates are from around my score.. Its like i am near the centre of the bell curve..
Slight scare is what if i get a lower score !! ??
Need to start studying still . Cant find any dates towards the end of May for Bangalore. Din't want to attempt this with IR π ..
The admissions committee tries and gives feedback to everyone. However ever due to logistical constraints they may not be able to answer everyone due to the sheer volumes of applications.
Nevertheless you can mail the adcom directly requesting for feedback. I would also urge you to check the website for any new guidelines the ISB adcom may have posted in regards to feedback before mailing them.
I have taken my GMAT score in May 2011. Got a score of 720. Did not apply last year. I am not sure if I am ready to apply this year. Will it be a disdvantage if I apply next year? Is there a cut off as to how old a score you can report in ISB?

The score is valid for five years even with the ISB
Hi, I took gmat in march and would have applied to ISB this year for 2013. But I came to knw that i would probably not be in thecountry at the time of admissions. Can I apply this year, and defer my admission by one year, if I get selected?
The good thing about ISB is, you can apply from anywhere in the world. Even the interviews are conducted on phone/skype.
Once you are offered an admission, you can apply for a deferral but then depending on the reason the adcom will decide whether to accept or reject your deferral request. In case it is rejected, then you will have to join or you can apply afresh next year.
I hit the expert pagal mark and somehow ISB realized my potential. Got a call from Mr Kannan at around 6 PM. My waitlist got converted .. Got into Mohali
When does the Portal open for applications to class of 2014? By when should I have my essays and references ready to apply in the first slot?
Regards,
Debaditya
The portal opens by around May. And upto mid July is the first part of R1. Take look at ISB: Indian School of Business : Key Dates .. it will be something similar this year too..
Hi Puys, 3 attempts and 1 success at ISB PGP. I have been admitted to ISB Mohali.Wanted to share my experience with ISB PGP selection process. My profile in brief GMAT 710(40 V/48Q)/5 AWA Approx 5 yrs of work ex by the time I join ISB.Typical Indian IT male (Cognizant, NIC) EC's Avg, Strong acads I have applied to ISB three times. *) First time was for class of 2011 applied in R2 on 30th Nov 2009. Had given GMAT on 30th nov itself.(So you can apply on the day you take GMAT that is not a issue.) Got the interview invite on 12th Jan 2010 for interview on 23rd Jan at hyd. Here is my first interview experience. http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/international-indian-mba-schools-accepting/37061-isb-class-of-2011-aspirants-940.html#post1852032 After interview I knew that I had screwed up my chances. So got a straight reject on 15th Feb 2010. *)Applied again for class of 2012 in R1 and did not even get interview call. Reason: Had applied with almost similar essays and 3-4 months of time is actually very less to show some significant improvement in profile. (Which is what is looked by adcom for reapplicants?) *) This time applied in R2 deliberately so as to have enough time to show some significant improvement in my profile. During this time tried to do as much as I can in both professional and personal field and all this while kept on doing introspection of what actually went wrong. And this time everything has happened at the last moment .Decided to apply on Nov 23 2011 haphazardly filled the application with review and help from few fellow (Yogi and others) R1 admits. Submitted it on 30th Nov and had actually very less hopes. Hope was dying down; one fine morning on 28th Jan 2012 got an interview invite for interview at Delhi Feb. 4. Somehow prepared something and appeared for intereview.Did reasonably well in interview. (That's why had the hopes alive till now) Here is the interview debrief. http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62057&referrerid;=291178 Then the wait started come 15th Feb and waitlisted. I knew ISB wants to show its complete admission process (Right from reject without interview, reject after interview, waitlist after interview and finally waitlist converting to admit at the far end of March 2012.)Finally have an offer for Mohall. Indeed it has been a great learning experience and the pagalguy forum has proved of tremendous help, guidance, and motivation. And yes one more thing I did this time is, got a referral from alum which I believe is very important. This is in addition to the two references which we get in application. Here is the link for the same. Please use it. http://pgpapp.isb.edu/User/AlumniReferralForm.aspx ISB was my dream and it feels great to live up to dream. This was the only school I had applied to. May be some people will say I am adamant but this adamancy has helped me. π .When I got rejected second time there were many advising me leave ISB and think of something else because I was not fit for ISB or ISB was not fit for me. But I didn't buzz.Yeah I admit this was my last and final attempt at B school app process. But life just gives us what we want after a complete struggle when we are about to give in, when we are about to assume that we have lost. But in fact we have not. Hope this piece of mine could help future applicants. I will be really happy to help with any of the questions on this forum or otherwise. Cheers!!!
Though the kind of profile I have, I stood no chance among the people with Stellar profiles. But please have a look at it:-
X : 73.2 (MP Board)(State Board) XII : 73.33 (MP Board)(State Board) Engg(Mech) : 70.50
Extra Curricular : Not much (almost negligible)
Work ex: 2 years in Patni Computer Systems as a Software Engineer(mainly involved in Software Testing) 2.5 years in State Bank Group. Joined as PO and completed various assignments including assigments in rural banking, retail Banking and currently working in Corporate Finance (Credit analyst sort of)
Please go through my profile and let me know, are there any chances of me getting into ISB with this kind of profile. What can I do to improve it to counter these negetives. How much GMAT score should I target for? What Extra curricular can be done now.

Hey buddy... for profile evaluation you have to contact ISB adcom. Since you say 'almost negligible' ECs, then see what you like and try to be active. Hey, no time is the best time as now... Well get going.... Engage in ECs not for MBA but for enjoyment.

Debaditya,
The GMAT score is valid for 5 years, so even if you do not apply in 2012, you can still use it in most b-schools including ISB until its expiry dates (well, even this comes with an expiray date!)
You can also check the admissions FAQ section of individual b-schools to be sure about their criteria.
