Definitely we will join you dude..

8:5:1 ratio existed when ISB did not have the 2nd campus and such a large intake. This year they have included a video essay, so this ratio must have changed. Also, ISB used to increase the intake each year, whereas this year it's the same as last year. We don't know all the variables that determine this ratio. We will know the real picture only when we enter ISB

Congrats dude
@srm85 good luck.
@muni87 Thanks bro

Before Mohali was in the scene the 8:5:1 ratio was a fair approximation, with Mohali campus up and running reliable numbers might not be available right now. However, lesser number of applications will not allow anyone to lower than guard. The general sense that I got of ad-com was that they would much rather let seats go vacant than lower the bar for admission.

So my advice to all applicants - don't worry about your chances and the ratios, you do not control that factor anyway, just focus on coming up with the best possible essays, recos etc.

I completely agree with this point. For example, CO2013 has a strength of 767 students as per Placement Report 2012; although the intake was for 770 students.

this might be for the reason that 3 chose to go for entrepreneurship
@srm85 which city?

Isn't the 2012 placement report for CO2012? The placements of CO2013 happened only 2 weeks ago, I doubt if ISB put up a report already for CO2013
@puneet124 Sorry for the confusion. It is the placement report for CO12, but it also gives a snapshot of CO13. As per the report, ISB had a vacancy of 770 for CO13, but they took 767 only. So 3 seats were left vacant. We cannot be sure of the reasons for that. Entrepreneurship would be applicable for students of CO12 who opted out of placement. 46 students opted out in CO12. Some might have gone back to their previous employers and others would have taken entrepreneurship.
@srm85 I have a close friend of mine from CO2012 who opted for placements but couldn't fetch a job as he was looking for some niche segment specifically. He headed down to Singapore to find a job on his own now. So the stat of 767 doesn't really conclude anything ;)
@raghupro That report only gives a snapshot of CO13. Class size is mentioned as 767, whereas the intake was for 770.

I am an applicant from Chennai and I am waiting for my interview call.

Got my Verification email on 21st Dec and no I/V calls yet. Is this normal??

I have pretty much lost hopes but want to clear the air for myself.

Any advice/insights on this is welcome.

##Damn anxious##
