@asifmohammed I think FDI in retail is good for India in general and will lead to improvements in our lifestyle. If implemented properly, it will eliminate middle man who are responsible for profiteering and artificially raising the prices of commodities. FDI will result in better storage facilities, improved product quality and range, more money for farmers and hopefully lower prices for consumers. However, many sensible issues are involved with FDI in retail such as loss of business and employment for local kiryana stores, vendors etc which need to handled well both administratively and politically.
I think any major decisions will have some negative impacts as well. It's about weighing the tradeoffs and measuring the better parts of the decisions.
We had lot of discussions that went along when the super markets stated to flood tier 1 cities but as of now the mom n pop stores are surviving along with the super markets. Hope the same happens even after the biggies like walmart go aggressive in India.

@tripamb I had my interview on 13th at ISB Hyd. I am Hyd(Mum) Applicant. We had a mixed crowd from Bang , Hyd and Mumbai. I had 3 panels in my panel. My interview involved all aspects about my application and career so far.They touched upon the financial domain in which i am wroking to extra-curriculars to why i am not chosing any US B-School and why MBA in India. A few jokes were cracked in between. Basically, as everyone has already said be very thorough with your application and all the significant words that you have mentioned. I just hope that I make it into ISB .
