Hey Guys,

Any news on more calls for Mohali. Twice stopped short of picking the phone and calling up ISB to check on the status for calls @ Mohali but decided otherwise.

Starting to get the feeling that its all over for this year atleast. Strange thing is no new calls have been reported post Friday for Mohali.

Anyway, congrats and all the best to everyone who got a call.

Cheers

Hello Puys

Done with my interview. The interview was on 20th Jan - panel 1. Consisted of 2 alums and Mr Kanan. The panel was pretty cordial and the most of the questions were from my essays. Now the long wait till Feb 15 begins !
@Njain03 @ElonMusk and all other folks who have an interview in Mohali this weekend. Let's actually get together for a session instead of only planning it :)

How about Tuesday, 22nd January, 2 pm at Market Cafe in Khan. We can all carry a copy of our essays and resume. Maybe even a list of questions we can anticipate beyond the standard ones.

Whoever is coming, can you please confirm here? It would probably make sense to have at least a group of 6 people. This would help us split into panels and practice as well.
@uwahi I want to....but with job and all.....it's impossible before 6 on a weekday :(
@ElonMusk : Sorry man, could not respond and come to your meet.. Hope you all had a good session.

I had my interview yesterday in Taj Vivanta. I was grilled on my post MBA goals and tried my best to convey my idea. My suggestions to all of you: be prepared about what you want to do and how.

@countingdays 1) I think this will unnecessarily increase the load on the ISB mail servers. 2)There is no specific email id to send thank you note to (who do u want to thank?)

Hence, i dont think thank you note is a good idea. I havent and wont be sending one πŸ˜ƒ .

Frnd, Don't stop urself from calling ISB.. Instead call them and let us all know the current status on ongoing application review process..

Guyz,

Congrats to all those who are done with interviews and all the best for those who are yet to receive them :)

Wanted to know roughly how many applicants get interview calls ?

I mean there are 770 seats.
How many get interview calls, out of how many applicants.
Anyone has those stats ??

Cheers,
@isbaspirant12 I just checked with ISB and they said that they will be rolling out interview calls for Mohali till the next 5-7 days. I'm still positive about an interview call though hopes are diminishing after each passing day.
@Amalgum which panel and slot was urs? I had mine with panel 7 @ 2:40 and my experience is so so....anyone who shared the same panel?

Frnd, we all are travelling in the same hope boat and I am positive for my interview call.. ISB rep told me that they shall be sending invites up to 5-7 days prior to Feb 01, 2013, which makes the last date for receipt of call as Jan 27.. Good Luck
@isbaspirant12 Thanks buddy !! Best wishes to you too.

Hi, I was interviewed by Panel 2 and it was grilling and I think I could have shared more with them in the interview regarding me, my aspirations etc.. Any such take-home for you?

@vjmannur

Education :

B.Tech - IIT Madras - 7.3/10,

Work Ex - 5 years - 4years in Finance and 1 year in IT. Currently working with Credit Suisse, Mumbai in Portfolio Strategy team. Developing Index strategies for Passive funds.

EC - Not much, have been part of organizing committees of festivals at College, Was into Film Club and Football teams.

Hobbies - Playing and watching Football

Let me know if you want anything else. Happy to share :)

@Amalgum mine went pretty neutral. They started with the reapplicant question and then jumped here and there. I could pitch on my aspirations and why parts..but scored poor for the guesstimate question.

My panel had one prof and I guess two alumni, the prof was thru with my application and was clear on what he wanted to ask.

Fingers crossed for the result....ATB to u guys.
hey guys, I am new to pg. I had interview at Hyd yesterday. I became quite nervous initially and couldn't respond well. the panel was quite supportive and they gave me some time to settle down. There onwards, it was a normal discussion about my work, industry (civil building/infrastructure) and why mba which is managed to answer. whole interview lasted for about 20 min.

Though I managed to answer their questions reasonably, my pace was quite fast (due to nervousness) and I think I left the impression that I have difficulties in expressing myself. (i know its bad, can't get this out of mind). I am usually a good speaker but that just wasn't my day. I think that panel felt that I know my work and industry but I coudn't express properly.
I am civil engineer with 4.5 year of experience. my job involves communicating with variety of people in management, field and I am supposed to have good communication skills. I wonder if panel will consider overlooking this..

Is interview the only criteria for admission. has anyone heard of any candidate getting admit inspite of mediocre interview?
