ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

@Kode_A okay, I can now understand your point of view. But, the career goal that you mentioned is more the exception than the norm.

And with regards to building your profile, I have had the benefit of working in an MNC for past 4 1/2 years. The nature of the work that you do, the impact that you created for your organization, the leadership skills that you showcased, the challenges and the learnings derived form the crux of your application. This is what differentiates you as an applicant.

EC's can exhibit any or all of the above and can add further value to your profile.

Considering all of the above, if you can frame a convincing story (read apps) and co-relate your future career goals to your current profile, then I believe you are well on your way to the stars and the moon (read dream school).

Again, strictly my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Santosh

in B school rankings IIMA wt.salary is given as 171K $, how is it possible ??? which puts iima into top 5 b school (considering sal alone)...... what am I missing here... some one please shed some light on this

@Rockstar14

It's better to read their methodology here: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/03bd60fe-609b-11e2-a31a-00144feab49a.html

Salaries are converted to US dollars using PPP rates supplied by the IMF.
@ammo44 Why?any specific reason?

Salaries mentioned on FT ranking are not what is offered at campus. But on an avg how much the students earn 3 yrs after passing out from the college.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

@ammo44 dude, feb 15 ke pehle everything is pure speculation. And if you would see the R1 discussions, they wasted a lot of time over app nos. It was all for nothing
@Kode_A Really appreciating thoughts.
Well, regarding ISB I have a query: I am particularly interested in pursuing my career in Human Resource management.really interested to know whether ISB offers any such specialisation?
@Dips2802 Nope it doesnt

Dear

@nickleblade: thank you for your words of appreciation, they boosted my confidence at a critical time
@ammo44: thank you for the invaluable tip of writing down answers so at least thinking portion of my brain does not have to work too hard during the interview, only the portion regulating 'fight or flight' response shall be in overdrive
@srm85 : thank you for your detailed assistance...
Now all that remains is I assimilate all this, act like a sane human and perform like robot

Does anyone know if ISB has a special quota for crazy women?

@Dips2802 there is no specialisation as such, you got to select your courses which suits your future plans..... and ofcourse you can pursue research fellowship as well in such dedicated fields if interested

Checked the courses offered. Didn see HR specialization anywhere.

Are you done with the interview ?
For HR and IR XLRI is numero uno in India.

Are you already in HR field ??
Curious to know why you thought a 1 yr course shall help you.

@ammo44: just to add to my list of problems, this is another one I have; I am not serious or ambitious or goal oriented... I was just about to ask you assistance on the question 'Why an MBA'.... As if to say there are a 100 reasons why people do an MBA! There is one but only one true, shashwat satya answer to the question. Are these interviews designed to propagate the art of fibbing? Also to me the question 'Why ISB/xyz/abc college' is an agenda by the aliens to create an epidemic of brown nosing on earth....

P.S. I guess you get the general drift of how hopeless my I/V is going to be....

@ammo44 : I am SURE I am crazy because I have INADVERTENTLY (honest to GOD) flirted with one of the interview panelists during an interview! Needless to say, I did not even dare to check the results of the particular interview!
