Hey guys!ISB mentions on their website, that the offer of admission is given "on or before 15 February". Has anybody who gave their interview for R2 got an offer? What happened in R1? Do they roll out all the offers on the las date mentioned (for R2, 15 Feb)?Just anxiously waiting..
Generally the results start pouring in from 5 PM. As per the trends admits get their mails first. Next day waitlists n rejects are notified. In R1, there was an issue with those who got scholarships. They were called and informed about the admit. They received mails in next 2 days.

@srm85 Thanks!! πŸ˜ƒ

Here we are motivating and helping everyone. And I am glad we forget that chances are very bright that that person would get in and get the seat which may be you were destined for.
Even though we all want ISB at any cost, we still help our fellow guyz and girls.

And we still think Indians have no moral fiber etc.

Salaries mentioned on FT ranking are not what is offered at campus. But on an avg how much the students earn 3 yrs after passing out from the college.Please correct me if I am wrong.Cheers,
You are partially correct. I was reading the methodology used by FT to rank colleges. While you are correct they consider the salary after 3 years, that is not the only parameter
They consider the salary students get right after graduation, standardize that across industry sectors, countries, and currencies. They also take into consideration the purchasing power parity. So all these ( and maybe a few more) factors make one of the criterias that is Weighted Salary.
Another factor they use is Salary Increase. And this is where they consider the salaries after 3 years of graduation and take an average and so on.
With that said, 2013 rankings took into consideration the student who graduated in 2009, so as to take account of 3 year salaries.
My feeling is- 2009 was pretty much peak of recession in the West. India and eastern countries were the less affected. Hence, US colleges should have dropped ranks and eastern colleges should have gained. That seems to be true for all Singapore Hong Kong colleges. But not for ISB. So I am not sure what has led the ISB ranking to fall so considerably.

I am waiting for ISB's Press release on the ranking.
That would answer many ifs and buts

But awesome research dude πŸ˜ƒ nice
@Kode_A
yea i would really really love to hear ISB on this. And I have a feeling they will come up with something like "FT Rankings are weird and bla bla"
and I remembers I attended an ISB info session. At that time it was ranked 13th by FT. I think it was 2011 ranking.
And Adcom person, had pointed out to everyone, why ISB considers FT as to be the best ranking in the world, and suggested all students/applicants should refer to the same. He had mentioned various reasons at the time, which I dont particularly recall. But a response now would really help a lot of people understand the reasons.

hi everybody. i had a query which i have attached. i am unable to copy paste the content here. can anbody please paste the content for me. please reply if you have an answer for my query. thanks in advance.regards,heman
its a valid question. I do not have an answer, but all I can say is MBA colleges have multiple certain criteria which often dont make sense to applicants. I say this cuz i have had similar questions about MBA admissions for colleges all over the world.
Do share the answer if you ever find out.

Well guys the thing to observe (also a fact) is that 2008-2009 was not a good year for ISB tht's why slip up in the rating due to that 3 year criteria. Of what I know ISB has taken cognizance of the slip and next year it should be back in the top 20.

I believe they will not dismiss the rankings due to a lower one this year.... Let's wait n watch. Besides the criterias followed by FT et al for the ranking I guess all the applicants also measure ISB or any other B-School on the parameter of ROI/cost in INR terms (no PPP, pure market exchange rate) and that is where most of the times ISB scores. A BSchool so new competing with mighty ones which are more than a century old will surely not reach its best so soon.

Hello Puys,I know, some of us, including me, are waiting for the interview call. All the best to all of you who are waiting for the interview call and all of you as well who are waiting for Feb, 15th.Meanwhile, we (I and one of my friends) have been working on founding a Socially-Responsible Startup (Social Enterprise). Please PM me to avoid diluting the purpose of this thread.Thanks a lot and All the best again!Warm Regards,Kumar Pritam
I did not get a chance to go through the website in detail, but I think i got a good gist. The idea seems to be a good one. Looks like involves a lot of work and effort from your end.
The growth and success might come slow, but as I said, I think it is a good idea and time will be a good investment too.
All the best to you.
Just a suggestion: please increase font size on your website, it is painfully small and unreadable. (Specifically the About Us page)
@sid28 I was discussing effects of ranking with a friend (who I am pretty sure is reading this as silent observer πŸ˜ƒ )

For us Indian Applicants ISB still would be the best option.

But ranking would have -ve affect on the following people -

1. International recruiters (big 4, fortune 500 etc)

2. Global image of the college. I dont want ISB to end up as best MBA college of India. This is not what it was supposed to be. It is our Pride. I really hope it takes on the likes of Oxford and Harvards one day. I know its a long fetched dream. But hell I want to see that happen.

@Kode_A
I totally agree with the above. ISB would anyday be the best option.
What I meant to say was, I would like to hear ISBs thoughts on the new ranking, and I hope they have some logical convincing arguments, and not something that contradicts what has already been shared by their representatives.
And even thogh International reach of a college and the global image are also criterion considered in FT ranking, I hope there is no future dip in rankings.
