I am not planning to be a re-pplicant.... I will go to CUHK, where I already have an admit... And NUS is also in the bucket...
Bro - again - we share the same thoughts. I've also applied to NUS. However, no admits yet. It is Plan C to reapply next year and not Plan B.

Guyz,

I wanted your opinion on one situation. Shall appreciate your help.

A friend of mine has got call from Kellogg School of Management. Was interviewed for ISB too.
He asked me what to chose if gets into ISB too.

Shall appreciate your views on it.

My friend shall be a silent observer of this topic on PG I know. So be sure he ll be reading this.

PS : Its not me. I have applied to only Indian courses.

Cheers,

It is a personal choice... If a career in India is his first preference then obviously ISB. He has to weigh the pros and cons of both the institute and compare them with his future plans and what he expects from the mba... Most people including me would be of the opinion Kellog is way better... but it actually is a personal choice... I know this answer sounds anything but helpful in decision making, but it is the real deal....
@vjmannur thanks πŸ˜ƒ everything is helpful. The question is pretty tough.
If the answer was easy and obvious I wouldnt have had troubled you all :)

Guys, somewhere on this thread I saw the collection of interiew questions asked in R2 co2014. can't find it now though. Would somebody be nice enough to point to that post or put that doc once again. Thanks.

@Kode_A Not a single good reason to choose ISB over Kellogg School of Management, unless it is family/financial/fiancee reason.

Are you sure you and your friend are not the same? Just a guess. Maybe I am wrong.

@muni87 I really wish it was me :)

But I had posted few pages back too I have applied to only Indian colleges.
My reasons are fiancee/finance/and career plans: for all INDIA is a MUST

Your Bhabi to be shall dump me if my career goals dont take me to India :)

And trust me that bugger is reading :D

Congratulations bro !!! When did you submit your application?
@vjmannur

@ When did u submit the application for NUS ?? I did it yesterday just on the stroke ofin time ( 31st 12 AM ) IST. Do they have a rolling admission cycle that picks up the application as soon as u submit ? Can you share your profile pls .. I am thinking of plan B already :-(.

Appreciate your views

My profile

IT(male) 6.5 Years of Exp ; GMAT 690; Recos - Good ; ECs Averasge ; Acads 8 - 9+ through out ; Essays OK ;

@Kode_A Being a doctor, I always get queries from patients and friends alike that my friend is having so and so health issues which are actually thier own. Hence, my doubt.

I have same reasons for India, including a kid. I can understand.

@Kode_A : why is "your friend" is so shy that he cannot post this question himself?

Anyways.... An MBA is one of the most important things in your life. It is your most prized, personal and costly investment. Always choose the option that gives you more exposure, more learning, better career opportunities, wider network. Do not let other factors, albeit however important, sway your decision. Money is important, family is important and fiance, even more. But, what about your aspirations? It is ultimately your life. Other things can be worked out. You should not look back 10 years down the line and regret, that you had the opportunity to go to a better school and yet you declined.

Having said that, people do emerge winners even from a mediocre school and some people from superstar schools fail to rise in lives. So, it ultimately does depend on the individual.

Now you/your friend can decide which is the right school for him.

PS: I havent mentioned any school, so kindly dont pass scathing comments on me. Just my personal opinion.
@muni87 Muni Baiiii MBBS 😁
And unlike your patients Kellogg admit is something to flaunt about.
b t w what kind of doctor are u ?
