it will cost 13520 @ today's...hope our poor INR will get strong enough..well, what will be comfortable score afa my low acad. are concerned and do ISB have SCM or operations as a major.. and it is a 1 yr MBA in ISB ri8?
ISB does not have a cutoff GMAT Score, but aim for 700+. ISB has operations concentration. Regarding SCM, this is what Mr. Menon said:
Linda Abraham: Great, thank you. Miswareb asks, "What are the opportunities in supply chain management post-MBA? Are there global opportunities as well?" If you could comment on that, and there are a lot of other questions about supply chain management, a lot of interest in that.
VK Menon: If you are a supply chain expert you will just be swooped up. I mean that's the kind of demand that exists today. You can break up this demand into a few specific areas. One is the FMCD sector. The FMCD sector, and let us call it the domestic FMCD sector, that really requires supply chain management. They're really hungry for talent, and such talent is not easily available.
If you have supply chain experience/expertise, or you do your MBA with a focus on supply chain, that's extremely strong. Second, would be global companies. As global companies become more, and kind of increased their footprints, they have larger markets. They enter markets with and have larger market shares. They all look for supply chain professionals I think it is kind of seen that India is a strong destination for supply chain experts.
Companies like Apple, international companies, Apple takes guys in supply chain, takes them to Singapore, manages their supply chain, and so on. Both the domestic front, and the international front on the supply chain thing is hungry for talent, and there is not enough supply. There are not enough people who would actually want to get into this domain. So if you are keen on supply chain, it's really, really good for you.
All fo us understand what you people must be going through on this day, as we had been in your shoes, on the very same day, 3 months back. Those were some of the most anxious moments in our lives. Rarely do you get an opportunity to experience such moments again in your life. We understand that it is easier for us to say these things being on the other side of the situation, but todays emotions and anxious moments are something you will definitely remember for a long time.
Even 3 months after the D day, whenever we meet up, we still remember and cherish the anxious moments from Nov 15th. And i do hope most of you will also, definitely have something interesting to share with us during the next one year.
For those of you, who might not hear the desired result at the end of the day for reasons beyond your reach, we all will be more than happy to help when you decide to enthusiastically reapply to ISB next year.
And the ones hearing the good news, we have a surprise planned for you all.
so guys, have one of the most unproductive days of your lives, look at the phone a million more times than you looked any girl/ guy in your life, drain your batteries, but remember to cherish these anxious moments...!!!
All the best guys...!!!
you are in to meet some of the most wonderful people....
Hi All,Good luck to everyone awaiting results today. To me it doesn't matter anymore because I have already taken up admission with IIM Lucknow. They kind of didn't leave me with much choice. Anyway, to those who get selected, congratulations and I hope you do well in ISB if you decide to join. To those who get a reject, please don't lose heart. It is not the end of the world. ISB rejects candidates for a hundred different reasons. It doesn't really mean you are less competitive. It will be a bitter pill to swallow but I know everyone will pull through and maybe get through an even better school (You never know )This forum has helped me quite a lot. Mostly in finding solace in people who have gone through the same experiences as me. This might be my last post. I join IIM Lucknow this April. Hope all of you get through your dream schools.Take care !!
All the best everyone. May the best men/women win!BTW is there a google doc where people can add their final admit/reject status? I would like to follow that doc.
We can update the same google doc which contains the details of all the puys..
Congratulations to all who have applied.. That itself is a sign of self-confidence. Further congratulations to those who faced the interviews. It's not easy to be in a room with 3 unfamiliar faces, having any and every kind of questions thrown at you.
Today might mark the beginning of a new phase for a lot of you, and it might be an opportunity to accept failure and move ahead to be better in life, for the rest. I am a reapplicant, and now an admit, so I have been in both the places. Although getting selected was a thrill I will never forget, getting rejected was an opportunity that has made me better.
So be confident. Don't lose hope. Results can be expected today post 6pm till tomorrow. (I think). Don't die in the anxiety of whether you will get through or not, instead die in the anxiety of which campus you are going to get π
All these days I was under the impression that today the 15th Feb13 would start with me checking my inbox as I wake up in the morning and see if I am in or out.. I was not aware that the emails start coming in only evening onwards.. Have been very patient for all these days after my P i/v by keeping myself busy with work.. The day did not start as anticipated.. No mail yet.. I learnt that I need to wait for another half a day and this wait has started making me anxious now( first time so far), unable to focus at all in the office.. So I am heading back home with a couple of beers.. gonna drink, eat heavy and sleep my ass off for the rest of the afternoon.. this seems like the easiest way to kill the wait at the moment..
hahahaha best way 2 keep urself out of the anxiety...ATB!
