@satyamism Nice How about anyone who scored between 500-600. What are their chances? I am preparing for GMAT so I am new to all this. I am a doctor, currently self employed meaning I have my own clinic

between 500-600 is bordering on an impossible shot at ISB unless you have an astoundingly different profile!

I'm just wondering, isn't being a doctor already a different profile?
Could anyone please throw some light on how can a doctor have an astoundingly different profile, when all that one is supposed to do is follow the guidelines and treat illnesses?
@sugamtaneja As a doctor, the first question is how does an MBA fit in. As a doctor, one can have a different profile by having taken up different means to practice - for eg: a med camp in a village, or educational workshop for kids.. and different profile does not limit only to work - it will mean with interests, skillset, etc.
1. Firstly, during Quant practice, I have observed that I answer 1 out of 10 questions wrong. (9/10 or 8/10 correct.) Even educated guess was not correct. Does that mean that if I give wrong answer, next question will be easier and subsequently scores will reduce?
2. One of the GMAT guides says: "Not all of the questions are scored. Approx 33 of 37 are scored. What if I give a wrong answer and it's a scored question (one of the 33)?

After you get a wrong answer, the general trend is a marginally easier question but mostly in the same score bracket.. consecutive wrong answers brings you into lower score brackets.. likewise if the questions are getting tougher it will mean a higher score bracket as well as a higher score overall..
There are trial questions as part of the question bank.. they may or may not be part of future GMAT tests depending on the average answering rate from the test takers.. there is practically no way of knowing which of the questions will be trials..
A tip would be to not think about the questions you are getting wrong or which are trial dummies.. it will only waste time

Quant is relatively easier in the GMAT.. especially if you are from a maths/engineering background... Getting a good score in verbal is important.. target a 700+.. that will be playing safe
This is suggested by my counselor. Let me know what's your take on this.
For Australian colleges I'm not very positive as I read very negative feedback. I am considering NTU and NUS for sure. Hope these colleges assist in scholarships.
@Shoan thanks for the feedback. I am engineer..still a bit apprehensive about the quant as I have been preparing since only 2 months now and heard that Gmat quant is tougher than other CAT tests. I am relying on OG as of now.
I was asking about the ideal scores per section: quant and verbal..

HEC Paris I am bullish but HEC Montreal no. Ultimately we are looking for good job after MBA with 81% placement record in 3 months after graduation and 85 k $ average package + discrimination that will alwez exist in every western country it is too much of a risk
@Shoan yes.. Applied n dinged. Gmat 660, 4years in IT.. My profile is on the very first post of this forum.
Feedback said U need to improve GMAT, set realistic goals post MBA( i had put my goal as IB) and highlight recent events ( had highlighted an event frm school/college days).
So, chances are slim with a sub 700 GMAT in IT pool unless u have a rockstar profile.
