Thanks gallahad! Do you have any idea of colleges that are good for technology MBA as i would want to work in IT sector
did anyone else do an interview yet? if so...how did it go? Also, was it normal that i did the interview with the career mgmt people before the adcom?

Depends man, you need to look at the recruiters in each of the good mba schools. Queens canada used to be a technology strong mba. Nowadays they portray themselves as a all-rounded mba. I know some in US are quite strong in technology mainly due to their locations: Stanford GSB, MIT Sloan and UCB Haas.
I think you should list out reputed MBA programs that seem fit for you and see if your dream technology companies recruit from those schools.
Thanks Gallahad for the suggestion..Have started the research
So..I just got off the phone with the career management department. I had the interview with Susan Bertulli. She was VERY VERY nice as well as professional. The interview went great and lasted about 45 minutes. It seemed more like a conversation then an interview which is good.
The basic questions were asked:
1. Talk about your current role and how you got there?
2. Future short-term and long term goals.
3. Why now
4. Why Ivey
5. Communication skill question
6. If any plan B
I also asked her a few question myself. Overall, I think it went well and they mention that they will contact for 2nd interviews within 2-3 weeks.
Good luck to everyone else on their interviews and please always share any feedback with this board.
Cheers.
Did you addressed Susan by her name or by calling her Ma'am? From my experience I have learnt to call everybody by name (irrespective of age and designation), but I am not sure what is the most suitable way in Canadian schools address your interviewer.
Can anybody please suggest?
I have my interview tonight.... and I am slightly tensed now...

Cheers,
Chirag
Hey Chirag, don't worry am sure you will do well. You can address them by first names e.g. Susan etc, irrespective of age and designation. I think the focus of the interview is more on your profile rather on these social niceties :).
Hi,
I have a question.. Will Ivey consider the complete application again after both the interviews are done or they have already considered the applications for interviews and now the decision would be solely based on interviews? Please let me know.
Aseem
Good luck on your interview and yes, in Canada you address everyone by their first name in the business world. The only time this would not hold true is if you are talking to a doctor, or sometimes certain professors.
Good luck once again and be sure to debreif us!

I am just now done with my interview with Karen. I am not sure whether she was from Adcom or from career management. When I got the interview call it said "Admissions Telephone Interview for the Ivey MBA Program", so I guess it was Adcom.
Almost all questions were similar to the ones asked to you in your interview. It seems that she had a list of questions already prepared.
I can remember following questions right now:
- Tell me about yourself
- How do you manage ur work-life balance
- Instances of leadership
- Failure example in leadership
- Example where you used your network
- Long term and short term career goal
- Three words that your frnds use to describe you
- What language do you often use when interacting with people unofficially
- Plan B in case you could not manage to get into consulting post Ivey
- Plan C if you could not manage Plan B
- Any questions that I may want to ask her
She told me that Ivey is streamlining their process and therefore I would not have any second interview (not sure if that means I am out). I am slightly tensed and I look forward for their response now.
All the best to all of you.

Thanks for the update. I know for a fact I was told that within 2-3 days they would contact me with the 2nd interview dates with the adcom because my first was with the career mangement people. So maybe you dont have to since you already did the main interview and that is good enough.
I am sure you will get in and please do let us know when you hear a response from Ivey....
how do you feel you did on the interview? Did you answer every question comfortably?

I was feeling comfortable but I was stammering a lot. I think she was happy too and she shared some of her experiences as well. Interview lasted for 30 minutes.
She took names of some of alums of Ivey currently working with me, and she also seemed to be happy by the fact that I work for McKinsey. But I think that she feels that my leadership experience is limited.
I will keep you guys about any further updates that I may get from Adcom.
ATB for your second interview.

Chirag

Hi Chirag,
Any other details you would like to share? Do we need to go through any current affairs? Also, did they tell you when can u expect your interview result?
Hi Chirag,
During my class visit to Ivey, two months ago, the Ivey representative mentioned that they were trying to reduce the number of interviews to streamline the process and it could result in only one interview.
Not sure if the intent is to apply this to all applicants.
Thanks

@puriaseem: I did go through current affairs, but I do not think that makes a lot of difference. I must say that Honesty is the best policy for Ivey interview. Interview result is expected in 2-3 weeks from now.
@ Ctatafdar: Thanks a lot for updating. Your comments have made me feel relaxed, because this is exactly what my interviewer told me. This streamlined process is not applicable for all applicants, but only few lucky ones.. :-)

Chirag
Hi Chirag,
