I'm a single guy, so I accept the challenges that Canada can have in store for me. In the long run, I know that it will pay off and it will be worth it. So that's why I'm not so concerned about whether I will struggle to get a job in Canada after my MBA.
Mbablackblet & Jetekic..thanks for your reply
To tell you frankly being married is helping me to go for MBA...I had an extra saving just b'cos we both were earning, moreover, my wife still be earning while I will be studying..
Not everyone gets placed through campus so she will support me while I will be looking for job post MBA...
I have PR of three countries ( Singapore, Australia & Canada). I chose Canada over Singapore & Australia for MBA, so lets see what is in there for me in Cananda... Otherwise doors of Singapore, Australia & India will still be open for me....
Ivey placement numbers are quiet promising...and I am bit positive for MBA in Canada...

OH...You cover 3 continents out of 7! Asia, North America, and Oceania! Do you plan to get PR from the remaining 4?

All the best!
Well...depends...how far i can go.... it matches with my long term goal... My aim is to handle global business and I am working towards it.....getting PR gives me freedom to stay and do business in these countries...and i am doing it..... If your best wishes are with me then i will cover remaining four continents..
Seeing all the stuff that you people are discussing here seems like intl and even people with PR are finding it tough to get placed after graduation I was of the belief that after graduating from College like Ivey you can get placed in company of your choice. I applied to Ivey and if i get admitted I wud love to join but things abt job that you ppl are discussing here is making me nervous as i dont have PR and i will be coming on student visa. I dont want to be a fool takin 35 Lakh loan and not ending up with a job Please pour in your thoughts about job scenario for intl candidates without PR

Hello sillyfool,
Your belief that once you graduate from Ivey you get placed in a company of your choice is VERY wrong. Not only is this not true during the recession, but even during good times you dont get placed in the company of your choice just b/c you are an Ivey grad.
A school like Ivey (and any other top tier MBAs), give you the tools and support to land the job and/or company of your desire, but its your job to get it done. You will not get hired just because you have an Ivey, Harvard or Rotmans MBA. I am not sure where you got this belief from, I would be very interested to hear.
While it is true that degree from Ivey or any other school for that matter does not guarantee the desired job, I believe that it is not appropriate to think that job would depend a lot upon student visa status or canadian PR/citizenship.
Many students, after graduating from good B schools in India, land up with a job in North America or Europe. So, IMHO, a canadian degree would be far better to help one get the job in Canada, provided one does the necessary hard work for that.

Guys Dont be too much hopeful with canadian degree... Someone posted a blog of admission director niki also...she also told that most of international students go back to their home country. i pesonally know students of Queens who went back to India after three months of struggle in Canada... As an international student after mba staying witout job in canada for long time is not easy... I am not discouraging you but want all to be prepared....as they say hope for best prepare for worst....

I had a link to select the time slot. The location and date was fixed by the adcom.
Ok well thanks all i can see is the same old app, to be more specific I can see 3 panels one on the left with app status and resume assessment and middle one with my info and the message from ivey is none and one the right register for events? Where was the link if you can throw some light? Do you think i should mail them or wait for sometime?

I think its "register for events" on the right had side. Interview will be shown as a registered event after you select a time slot. If that does not work, get in touch with them.

Ahhh lucky you, I just got a mail from Laurie but my app is yet not updated I hope they do it on monday Anyways best of luck for interview
I applied in R2. I got telephonic interview invite this week. I was expecting face-to-face interview at QS MBA fair at the end of Nov. This is a surprise for me.
Do you have any idea why adcom would conduct telephonic iv if face-to-face iv can be possible?
One reason could be that since the adcom members would be here in India for a limited amount of time, their f2f slots could have already been full.
can you share your profile ?
thanks gpm Indian IT Male 660/5.5 significant int'l exposure decent acads/extra-curr's
Hi GPM
Yes. I was also thinking about the same reason. Lets see what happens in the interview..I guess most of the Indians have got f2f iv invite in this month.
