Best of luck for CAT...remember what u do in those 140 mins matter, the mocks and their scores...they are only for analysis (learnt from own experience).

Lots of time left. Chill. As you rightly pointed out, you need to learn the basics, start with that. Try to understand which specific topics you are weak in, and try to develop solid concepts in those topics by reading books or practising. You can start by taking some previous CAT paper to realize how much you need to prepare.

Should i join a coaching institute? which books should i prefer?
Hi all Puys of kolkata..I am a cat 2013 aspirant. I wanted to join an insti as I have no previous preparation. I have been going through the Puy forums where I read about faculties moving from Time to VistaMind.
So currently, which insti/centre has the best faculty? It would be very helpful if anybody could please share their experiences(good/bad) with CL/IMS/TIME Kolkata?
And, how important is classroom coaching anyway? Is there anything which cannot be picked up by self study and mocks? I keep reading in Puy forums that classrooms are a waste of time and money.Also, I took the test this Tuesday and managed to solve about 37 problems(no guesses). So where do I stand? And what could be the best strategy to prepare? Request all experienced Puys to please suggest their views. Please help. Thanks.
