Life at MDI

Mid terms coming up from 1st of August here. Various club selections were going on all till last week. There is a lull because the seniors are having their exams. Life is hectic but at the same time it is chill and not to say i am just it.

With mid-terms almost over for the seniors, club interview mania is going to start once again. Some sleepless nights lined up because after that PG11 have their mid-terms. Yaar abhi to aaye the MDI mein. Life here is as hectic as it can get but I am loving every moment of it.

Well a lot has been said about the hectic life of MDI. So here is some clarification regarding it(as hectic has a negative connotation to it). As an aspirant I was worried a lot about hectic life at an MBA college. But after joining MDI I have realized that it is not acads that make Life hectic. There is of course a constant pressure of Acads with quizzes, projects , assignments and case studies. But what makes life hectic is so many activities/clubs happening in the college. And believe me, you don't want to miss out on any of them. Plus there is the famous Hostel Bakar and Late night parties that stretch for hours. You just start loving it. There is something to do all the time. Life outside MDI just seems slow.
Its 2.15 AM and its time for chicken roll and tea at World Famous 'Arcus', the night canteen of MDI.

Was in campus yesterday evening after a long time... Sharmaji's the same, new Amul cafe is a cool addition, footie attendance has dropped, arcus is doing rocking bu$ine$$ as before....
Also attended a class though only for 10mins... was with the evening course guys...

PS: all those who have sent requests for MDI ranks need to mail me the official mdi e-mail id. Wont be approving requests without this.

Blood donation camp here in MDI in remembrance of Vijay Diwas. And i donated blood for the first time. 😃 Its a great feeling guys. I was really scared initially but believe me after its done it feels really awesome.

MDI in monsoon season looks like heaven on earth. Awesome weather along with garam garam samose:w00t::w00t: i don't even feel like stepping out of this campus

Mid-terms and over and the First years' are relaxing( not for long though as the activities will pick up from Monday again 😛 ). But the last two weeks were full of activity.
First there was the awesome Karaoke night on the eve of Kargil Divas. It was one of the best events I have been part of. It was awesome seeing around 300 students including those from the Armed Forces Programs singing some of the best songs together. The atmosphere was filled with music.
Thereafter it was the Blood Donation Camp on Kargil Diwas wherein more than 100 people donated blood as a tribute to kargil heroes.
The week before midterms was full of quizzes and project presentations. And then we had our first exams after joining MDI. The Padhakoos were seen with books all day long. And then there were people like me who did more bakar throughout the night in the name of studying for mid-terms. The experience of preparing and giving two exams a day was new to most of us.And most of the times we had to sacrifice one of the two papers. But on the positive side the exams were over in just 4 days and it was time to party again :D.

Some Pics from Karaoke night

Read about this in the Mandevian blog... Great stuff and congratulations to the winning team...
These 2 years are when you can go out and stretch the boundaries... Try new things, seek ideas and innovate... The competitions are a great way to get the "learning" in a B school... so participate in as many as you can, but give your best to each... you never know when something big is around the corner... so go ahead, be whacky, and dream!

MDI Speaks | We are CHANGEMASTERS & THOUGHTLEADERS
respected seniors,
i'l be appearing for cat this year! mdi gurgaon falls on the way to my college and every single day that i passed infront of it for the last 4 years, i have muttered to myself that one day i'l go here and fulfill my dream! now that day has come! but i have a doubt and i want it addressed by the seniors at mdi, especially the ones who gained admission through cat 2010 because you'l be the best one to solve it! anyone who gets into mdi gets a minimum of 96%ile in cat and since those who got in through cat 2010 encountered basically the same format of 60 QUESTIONS OVERALL (20*3), can you plz tell me how many questions approx. you got ri8 in the exam inorder to get such a %ile! ( I KNOW SUCH A QUANTITY IS VARIABLE AND CAT HAS SWITCHED TO 30*2 FORMAT DIS YEAR BUT THE ESSENCE IS THE SAME AND IT WILL GIVE ME A FAIR IDEA OF HOW MANY QUESTIONS TO GET RI....plz ans my question and pardon me for the long mesg! plz give me a definite ans!

hi, firstly this Life at MDI thread. This thread is for current batch students and alums to talk about our b-school life. So, ask your query on a relevant thread. Secondly, since every slot has different paper, there is no fixed criteria as to how many questions should be attempted for a fixed percentile. Plus pattern has changed this year so no one can predict in advance. Prepare well and give your best shot on the exam day. If you deserve it, you will surely get admission in this awesome b-school. Inter section sports tournament going on name is King of Kings. Awesome competition in cricket, badminton, chess, table tennis etc. Records being broken, whole sections cheering and jeering are some of the highlights of this friendly rivalry. Yeah that oxymoron suits here well.

And how can we forget the important festival of Janmasthami? We celebrated it with the Matki phod competition for PG11 Vs PG10 Boys at the grounds next to Change Masters Hostel Mess. It was a treat to watch all the junta cheering for the teams.

And yeah as the PG10 have their endterms PG11 battle it out for Creativity Ka Karmayuddh which is a branding exercise for your respective section and comes under KOK.

Anand

PS: Section A rocks \m/ 😉

I know sports was a concern till last week. But hold on we are in TT finals and yeah Phase 2 is gonna begin. And as you rightly put it CKK mein macha di section A ne!!

Anand

Creativity ka Karamyudhh is finally over and after three hours of awesome finale, Section-A a.k.a Alpha-Q won the trophy!!!!!

Section - B (Ball Busters) are the runners-up. Great show by all the six teams. Really good innovations and creativity were seen for the past one week and CKK provided us with hands-on experience of marketing our own brand. Now, focus is on KoK where, err... Alpha-Q is slowly catching up.

The Admission Invitation for PGPM, PGP-HR, PGP-IM 2012-2014 is out.
Gosh!!I feel it was just yesterday when I was on the other side filling forms, giving mocks day in day out and preparing for GD PIs.Time just flies by.
All the best to all MBA aspirants.
Now,Its back to work. Presentation Tomorrow

Exam fever has taken over MDI once again. End terms begin from Monday and with final projects/assignment submissions going on till saturday, we are stretched to the limit this time.

And yes the most important thing, Section B has won "King of Kings"
We also won the points for the most Cheering Section.
"Daal baati churma, B waale surma"
What say Anand and Sourabh?

Now, I know why our seniors weren't so active on this thread. In MDI, one barely gets time to do anything extra leave alone post about it here. After entering the second term, the previous one seems like a child's play. And this is going to continue for three more months:shocked::shocked: Hope everyone survives it and don't become a "Pagal" by the the end of the term..
