Life@ BIM Trichy

Went to Rameshwarm & Kanniyakumari trip after bunking a few classes had a nice time for two days and here now back at college...

this is a normal relaxed week with a few classes here and there... being 2nd year is an added advantage with almost no-class at all πŸ˜ƒ :)

waiting for the midterms which begins on 20th feb...

Had a night class on Logistics Management a couple of hours back, another one scheduled for tomorrow. Am not disliking it. After all these are the last few days of my college life.

Ahead of Valentine's day, IP Messenger and Facebook timelines are seeing a spurt in the number of consolatory messages for singles (i.e people like me ). Wonder what the couples on campus have planned to do tomorrow. As for me, I am off to Swamimalai near Kumbakonam, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga. Call it VEL-entine's Day.

Had ginger coffee at Chandru Cafe after a long time. It's that time of our lives when we spend time filling slam books for friends. The first one has come to me, going to fill in pages and pages of my friendship.

The senior-most junior, Elango, celebrated his birthday bash a few minutes ago. The 'Sparklers' group lived up to their name by lighting up the occasion with diwali sparklers. But the pleasantest of pleasant surprises came when Elango distributed Bournvilles to each and every one present there. Said he had bought 120 of them. Top it up with a glass of Pepsi,Mirinda and 7-Up and it seems Elango has changed the definition of a birthday bash here at BIM.

My good friends Anand Babu and Vignesh have won the Trichy regional round of the Tata Crucible quiz held yesterday. Feeling happy for them and also motivated to emulate them in the quizzing arena.

Exactly 40 days to go before we go out from BIM. We don't want to get out and we don't way to stay here either :wow:

Lots of things have changed in the 2nd year - Think 1st year was more enjoyable.Finding coll life little not-okay at this fag end ... Wanna go out and start working...

Planned to go for a batch trip to Kerala on coming 17,18 & 19th of March ... waiting eagerly for that...

Meanwhile 2012-2014 shortlist for GDPI has been released and the next round of selection process is gonna start by March 16 I guess...

Yes you can reschedule your GD-PI slot. BTW this is not the thread to post admission queries. Visit this thread for more info (http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3318335#post3318335).

Was helping out a couple of juniors with the credit analysis spreadsheet last night. It went on and on and on till 4 AM. Reminded me of my first year days when I was trying all permutations and combinations to balance the assets and liabilities. Was going back to my room when a friend called out to me for a walk down BIM Street. Was casually chatting with him about the 2 years. Brought back fond memories.

Counting days. Enjoying every single second of Life @ BIM.

The treasure hunt turned out to be a debacle for my team. Apparently there were only 7 sets of papers and we turned out to be the 8th team. It was unfair on us but considering the amount of unfairness the Indian cricket team has been going through recently, we decided not to make a noise about it.

The treasure hunt last night was fun... My team came 2nd \m/ winning a prize worth rs.2k.... Meanwhile the other events which are a part of finutsav are going in full gear.... Right now the finals of two events, equity research and perplexes ( a strategy gaming event) is going on.
Meanwhile, tmrw morning sessions are off due to holi. Looking forward for a great celebration tmrw πŸ˜ƒ :)

After jogging and aerobics, I experimented with cycling today. Originally planned a simple cycle ride along BHEL road but later rode 5 kms all the way to BHEL township via Kamarajapuram, had dinner there, dessert at Chandru cafe and returned via the main BHEL road. Never once felt exhausted, probably proof that my stamina level has gone up a bit.

Lined up next is Marcethlon, a series of marketing events on a specific theme. The theme this year is Food.

Lots of free time these days, want to make sure all must-see places in and around Trichy are explored.

Clubs and committees form the soul of student life here. One can never forget the moments one spent in the committee activities. And working with other committees is always a great learning as it gives insights into the way they work. After spending 5 trimesters as an 'honorary' member of Sportscomm, it was Bismarc this time. Spent a couple of hours with them helping them to get the Marcethlon artifacts ready by dawn. Flex banners, hanging cutouts, taking photos of the whole thing was great fun.

The event is about to start tonight and I am eagerly looking forward to participating in it since I did not do so last year.

Participated in probably the last and final competition of my academic life at 'Marcethlon', a series of marketing events on the theme of 'Food'. Won the 2nd prize at the quiz. Was trailing behind initially but scraped through in the final round where we had to go to different places in the campus and collect 8 brands of any major brand house. Got Duracell and Olay at the first point and decided to go with P&G;, ended up being the first to collect 8.

All geared up for the batch tour tomorrow to Cochin and Alleppey. Total fun for 3 whole days in God's Own Country. Looking forward to it eagerly.

3 days of great fun. Headed straight to Cochin Veega Land on 17th morning, had an awesome time there in all the rides. The water rides were the most fun. Spent the whole day there and then went to Marai Beach Resort somewhere between Cochin and Alleppey. Spent the night there in a fisherman style hut that was neatly furnished.

Alleppey was up next and we spent the whole of 18th in the house boat and even stayed overnight. Spent almost a full day in the vast backwaters.

Thommankuthu waterfall in Idukki district was lined up for Day 3 and as it got late by the time we reached, we had to scrap the plan to visit Cochin city. Instead we headed to Angamaly on the Thrissur-Cochin NH where we had dinner at a highway dhaba before returning to Trichy overnight. Arrived at around 9 AM, slept for some time and headed for class at 2 PM.

Life rocks.

With just a couple of presentations in Consumer Behaviour, a one-off class in Rural Marketing and Personal Growth Lab sessions scheduled, classroom life is all set to come to an end. Unable to digest that sinking feeling.

with barely 20 odd days to go, ppl have started leaving home now just before the exams... waiting to finish off all these exams - studies things to get over soon....
