Life@ BIM Trichy

whoa!! Which senior was tht??oh i remember ..it was a fellow PRCOM member right? πŸ˜› anyway, there r still around 3 weeks to go n that translates to "ages" 😁 The week before exams is bound to be more hectic than usual with end-of-term assignmnts and projects and what not.but right now it's football and throwball time ...after classes all day the games provide the much needed relaxation :)

it's time for throwball today and yes as as rightly pointed out it's always the girls' matches that draw the highest crowd. πŸ˜‰ Good luck to all the four throwball teams(2 each frm pgp-1 and pgp-2) Do well, girls. :)
Btw 3 cheers for the pgp2 team-catalans-who got thru to the semis of freekick'10 :)

With the amount of work to be done,"ages" will seem like seconds. ;)

Was refereeing in the throwball matches. Powerpuff Girls of PGP 1 and ReGALS of PGP 2 won the two matches respectively. Finals scheduled for tomorrow. Was refereeing in the first match and got attacked by Torandoz, the other team, for a call for foul. ReGALS are currently charting out strategies to disqualify the referee.

The semis of the football and the final of the throwball competitions were scheduled to be held last night. However tried to play spoilsport by wetting the fields. Throwball finals had to be postponed to tomorrow while the sports committee members tried to get the football semis going by dumping sand on the small puddles of water. Soon every Tom, **** and Harry joined in and in about an hour the ground was fit for a game although there were still some slippery areas.

The Galacticos decided to risk their bodies by opting to play the first game while their opponents, the Tyrantz, expressed reservations. The matter was soon sorted out and by 11:30 pm, the Tyrantz agreed to play. The game got going and it was the same story for the Galacticos as they once again won 4-0 and cruised into the finals

In the other match, the Catalans defeated the Arcanes 4-0 and made it to the finals. Tomorrow evening promises an exciting contest between the best two teams of the competition. Looking forward to an exciting contest

Today's final football n throwball matches got postponed to a future day,coz of heavy rain .....

but had a wonderful day today.... 1st n 2nd years joined together and played kind-of throwball in the heavy rain....

everybody started stomping the stagnant rain water and u know what wud have happened coz of that !!

ppl were pulled into mud-water and made to bath in the mud, literally mud i say !!

after that, had bath for more than an hour in tap,but still couldn't scrub the mud properly !!

The finals of the throwball and football events were postponed to tomorrow. Hasn't rained all day today and Catalans involved themselves in a practice session while Galacticos are chilling out in their rooms.

Had a special lecture yesterday on Branding,Positioning and Purpose by Mr.Roger Pereira, advertising and PR expert and Building Brand TCS by Mr.Jayant Pendharkar of TCS. Mr.Pereira recounted various anecdotes in his branding journey involving companies like GE,Tata Sons, etc. Our marketing professor says these two will be coming to BIM again in December. Looking forward to more interesting fundas on branding.

The sporting events for the current trimester came to an end with the Powerpuff Girls, the first year team, winning the throwball final and the Catalans, the second year team, the football trophy defeating the Regalls and the Galacticos respectively.

In the first set,the Regalls got the better of the Powerpuffs thanks to missed catches but in the next two sets it was the Regalls who was at the receiving end.

The football finale between the Galacticos and the Catalans, the two best teams in the competition so far, was a nailbiting one with no goals scored in the regular and the extra times thereby leading to a penalty shootout. The Catalans goalie bent every inch of his backbone to stop the Galacticos' penalty kicks and gave away only one goal but by the fourth shoot of the Catalans, the result was decided. The Galacticos lost 3-1. Kudos to both teams for an excellent display of spirited football action during the last 1.5 weeks.

The Students Council election happened last evening after classes were all done with. By electing 8 members, four from each section, the trend of having 6 members in the council every year was broken. Yours Truly was among the 6 nominees from section B but could not garner enough majority.

Just a week to go for the end terms. Final academic week of first term is less packed with fewer classes but with at least one presentation to make for each subject, midnight oil keeps burning in BIM Street, LH and Marine Drive.

This end term never seems to end ! only 3 exams (MSM,Marketing & POM) are over so far..... 4 more to go n then holidays for close to 10 days waitin for it !!

Today the first sem officially ends for first year... what an experience this 2.5 months was @ bim so many new frnds...so much of learnings... so much of presentations ,so much of exams.. and of course less marks

Trichy is a surprise package to most ppl here but we have found out the way enjoy as much as we do in our home town !!

And the next sem starts on 6th Oct... till then let me go to my home and hibernate

First 2 months @ BIM zoomed past us like a flash of scintillating lightning. Irony of time movement is that, hectic periods, while you are at it, you would feel time is flying, traveling extremely fast, but when you look back, you would recollect the millions of things that happened during the period, giving you a grand delusion of a very very long time period, and interestingly, when u laze around, time would seem to move very slowly, but when you look back, since theres nothing for the brain to recollect, it would give you the delusion of a smaller period.

For BIMites first trimester went past in a jiffy, but when we look back,
Ocean of presentations, projects, assignments,Contemporary reading,PARAN, Cultural,Case studies, Football tournaments, Treats and last but not the least merciless exams, pop up in our heads, that the first trimester looks like it happened for eternity. Wisdom of seniors is that If one had seen through this trimester very successfully, rest should be a formality.
Hoping for more fun filled further semesters and praying for positive results in all the exams.

First term gave us a peek into what life at B-school is like and set the stage for better planning and organising (and thus better management) for the subsequent trimesters. The general outlook is that responsibilities are going to be bigger next term. And I'm eager to get back and be part of the action. The urge to get back to classes has already begun to sink in.

October 6th is going to be the great opener for the second and fifth trim....
Hopefully its again gonna be full of classes. And undoubtedly ofcource presentations and assignments..
But before all that its time to chill , enjoy, relax n doin all the other jobs .
Well iam busy doin all that.

Second term of academic year 2010-11 began the day before. Cost Management appears to be interesting and the professor, with his way of teaching, makes sure that students develop a liking for finance. First presentation already assigned, deadline Monday.

Software System Analysis and Design (SSAD) is handled by Prof.Ramanathan of IIMB. The initial concepts are simply an extension of the Information Systems subject we had in the previous term.

After dealing with behaviour at the individual level OB now moves into group and organisational levels.

With Crescita, set for November, the coming 1.5 months are going to be very hectic with the various committees organising things at a feverish pace. The term promises to be a cracker.
