well,it's not 8PM ..it's 8 AM

heya ppl! :)
Can c tht i've missed a lot of action on this thread...well the juniors sure r busy but 2nd yrs r busier πŸ˜‰ the choice of electives made sure tht some of us ended up wid 2 exams evryday 😞 n trust me it is realy bad wen u've got a finance paper in the mrng and a mrktng paper in d aftrnoon wid hardly a break of 1 hr in betwn...

but then xams n assgnmnts r part n parcel of life here n v hav become experts at handlin them ...the stress-busters( as they r calld πŸ˜› ) tht r multicast on the ip messenger provide loads of relief πŸ˜‰

n like vijay said all of us r eagerly waitin for MARWAR n then the Football tournament for guys n throwball tournament for gals ...
(Hail Bismarc n Sportscom πŸ˜‰ 😁 )

Btw a few of the BIM 25 guys dropped in for the weekend....spent a lot of time catching up wid them...was total fun 😁

Mid-term exams nearing conclusion with just two more papers to go. MARWAR is all set to begin hours after the last exam day. Bismarc, the marketing club, set the ball rolling with a preview today at dinner in the mess. After that people began to disperse off into all directions forming groups of 8 for the event.

With the football tournament scheduled to happen next week after Marwar, the ground is swarming with some professional footballers and some beginners (myself included) trying to impress the "selection panels" and sneak in to a team.

Minutes after we were done with our midterm exams, we had to gear ourselves up for Marwar 2010. Team BISMARC got into the process of assigning guides from PGP 2 for each of the 15 teams. The 15 presentations were a mix of some humourous and serious stuff. In another two hours we need to decide which segment our product or service is going to be based. Wagah Border is going to be buzzing with activity soon.

Wagah border is indeed buzzing with activity...classes + marwar activities seem to be keepin the 1st yrs on their toes πŸ˜ƒ the 15 teams were busy with their Business plans today...aftr deciding upon the segments they had to come up with new products/services followed by a market survey -- both inside n outside campus 😁 even as I type this, ppl are roaming around wid questionnaires tryin 2 get the 2nd yr guys fill their forms πŸ˜‰

Team BISMARC sent a mail early this morning about the tasks and deadlines. It said "2PM to 4PM : consulting with faculty member about the approach to the field study; 4PM to 8PM : field study outside BIM; 8PM to 10PM : internal field study". What actually happened : designated faculty member had class from 3 to 5 and only two or three teams managed to get inputs from him. Field work began only from 6 PM, during the two hours from 4 to 6, the printer in the computer centre reached peak print load. Despite such tight deadlines, BISMARC calls this as the "easiest" part of Marwar. No wonder they say "Marketers are Liars".

No casual conversations have happened among friends in the last 24 hours. It has all been frenetic marketing activity. Entry of a non-Marwar team member into a room is viewed as a threat to the confidentiality of blossoming ideas.

As sekhar said,
the Marwar'10 is taking toll on us..... not lettting us to sleep hitherto... we are in the process of preparing our tomorrow's presentation ..... we need to submit a report about our Market Analysis we did for the project 8 AM sharp .violation will be dealt with penalty, they warned !!..... and before 2PM tomo,we need to give 15 mins presentation about the Project in front of PGP2 Bismarcians and convince them ....

ok guys, let me get back to prepartion now and will update you soon....

Eight teams have made it to the next round of MARWAR. My team got dinged. It is only after the presentation that we realised we were on a destinationless journey. However there is a second chance in the stall activity on Sunday. Let's see if I can impress there. Meanwhile, exit from MARWAR means I get to concentrate on other stuff and probably get a couple of hours of sleep.

MARWAR, finally came to an end.
One of the most hectic days of most of our life were easily those that were spent on MARWAR.Those merciless deadlines and ruthless rules, kept us awake all the time in the last four days..Congratulations to the top three teams that put in all their heart into their work.Remaining five teams were pretty good as well; its just not their day...And for people who arent in sports-com its time to unwind for a while after quite a long time, after the pre-midterm,mid-term and MARWAR( save assignments ,presentations and other back-breaking usual),as they can afford to lay-back and enjoy the game of football. Football tournament kicked off today at BIM in surprisingly pleasant weather conditions.,Trichy has the reputation for being cruelly hot through out the year..Chill weather, drizzle gives some respite from the cruel heat and signals a great start to the tournament..

And the football and throwball tournament was kicked off right after the Marwar'10 .8 Football teams decided to flex their muscles and so far 2 days have gone and Team Galacticos seems to be in strong position with 2 wins continuously and the remaining matches are being played as i type here......

unfortunately our team, Sizzlers have lost both the matches !! We have our 3rd match tomo and hope to strongly come back ...

parallely we got to sumbit our FRPA assignment tomo... as usual we are yet to start that..

ok let me update you guys later and i'm going out to watch the matches.....

Freekick'10,the annual football tournament is in progress here and it provides a perfect way to unwind after a day's work. Team from PGP I,section B, GALACTICOS, is rocking the tournament with two consecutive 4-0 winsThey are through to the semis already. As the other three matches for night progress,I sit in my room working on my Financial Accounting assignment.

Team Galacticos tops Group B with three wins out of three matches. Won 2-1 tonight against Team Arcanes. Semi finals on Friday.

sounds like BIM-trichy is really gud..what's the CAT cutoff for trichy??

Guneet ,it was 94+ percentile for OC,last year .ATB dude

As penned by sekhar, right now Galacticos and Catalance occupies the top spot in their respective pools, in Freekick'10 as of today.

As i told yesterday ,we,Sizzlers, strongly came back today and won the match against Furious 12 !! Go Sizzlers !!

Though we missed our chance to go to next level, this win really boosted our confidence level after 2 continous losses !!

and we managed to submit our FRPA assignment on time too :clap:

Tomo, throwball games start for the gals and we are expecting a lot of audience for that !!

Last year, cut off for OC was 94.62%-ile. The admission notification for 2011-13 will be out some time in september in leading national dailies. We will be opening a new thread to handle all admission related queries then. Keep checking this thread for updates.

End term exams scheduled for September 14 to 24. One day's leave before all exams except Information Systems and Fundamentals of Mgmt. Time to start studying. I'm reminded of the senior who reminded me of the preparations last night.

whoa!! Which senior was tht??oh i remember ..it was a fellow PRCOM member right? πŸ˜› anyway, there r still around 3 weeks to go n that translates to "ages" 😁 The week before exams is bound to be more hectic than usual with end-of-term assignmnts and projects and what not.but right now it's football and throwball time ...after classes all day the games provide the much needed relaxation :)

it's time for throwball today and yes as as rightly pointed out it's always the girls' matches that draw the highest crowd. πŸ˜‰ Good luck to all the four throwball teams(2 each frm pgp-1 and pgp-2) Do well, girls. :)
Btw 3 cheers for the pgp2 team-catalans-who got thru to the semis of freekick'10 πŸ˜ƒ
