come on candlez there are many great philathropist who fund various institutes throughout india...agree that mr. karsan bhai is one of the great personalities and a gem of a man but they do not interfere in the admission and placement process...they just fund the education and value addition to society
(in fact our own pharma college is promoted by mr. pankaj patel(cadila Rs. 2 crore) and new MBA college promoted by shri indukaka (ipcowala Rs. 2.5 crore) so as far as my knowledge goes they only promote and feed the system rather than churning the administration)
so hope we remove the cloud over clouts over this personalities....

i skim scanned few quotes, lot of queries on comparison, benchmarking...queries on nirma and gim etc...
wel...guess i am late to give few infromation but it will be helpful now or later.
talking about GIM - primarily placements, Average salary increased this year to 5.66 lakh as against 3.77 lakh last year. more or less same story with fore in terms of avg salary. highest package was offered by erix advisors (Rs. 8.5 lakh GROSS - Risk management consultant profile) again same with fore highest 8 point Odd lakh from accenture (finance and operations functional area - profile). moreover we had a company called axis risk consultancy in our campus who offered a good package and picked one student. infosys largest recruiter in GIM (14 offers). lot of new entrants like infosys, igate, cognizant technology solutions, IBM global services and few more. had visited GIM campus in this year placement. fore dint have such recruiters in 2006 placements but we had new companies at our campus too where these companies dint visit their campus viz HSBC AMC...
campus as whole dont have much idea i.e. infrastructure, faculty..go thru the site.
conclusion - if you ppl are keen on IT related jobs GIM has good companies visiting their campus, it has a better stand compare to fore. else they stand equally good. its you who have to decide.

hi people,
some relatives in delhi went out and xhecked the accomodation fascilities.. one was shubham(working women's hostel) and another was the fore hostel.
this fore hostel was a little far away and even if u keep the distance out of consideration my aunt didnt like it cause of the approach area,, as my masi calls it, there were 2 "sharab ka thekas" on the way which at 4 30 in the afternoon had started gathering crowds. mess fascilities are not available .the advantages are that thay provide all the furniture required, and we would be staying with the seniors..
the shubham hostel- adv- extremely close to the college, mess fascilities available, no "surrounding area" trouble, no security trouble.
disadv- too dingy rooms, study tables were not being provided toall the students, desktops cant be installed.
here the pg accomodation comes into picture, if around 4 or five girls come together then we might hire an appartment or a pg nearby subject to the availablty, although that has a lot of put offs..
i am not looking for a plush residence or a fancy hostel but these were the accomodation opinion made by a relative of mine and i suppose some responses by the seniors and the new batch will help. i am a little too confused about which one to choose.

@ CANDLEZ ---Hi I will be your batchmate. You had talked abt the hostel accomodation. How are the other aspects of the FORE hostel?? In working women's hostel I feel there will be all kinds of women around and god know what kind of ppl flitting in and out . In the FORE hostel atleast we are with our batchmates and seniors.
I had called up the FORE admin. and asked them . They said the building is clean ,with security wtot mess ofcxourse but students make arrangements for catering for dinner on their own. The breakfast and lunch can be had at the college Canteen....Dear Seniors is this true????
Also we willl be with known ppl so we can come and go at our timings. There is a bus facility provided by the inst. btw the coll and hostel. the charges of Rs 2500/ includes the hostel as well as this bus facility.
As for the PG accomodation it can be thought abt once we are acquainted witht he area and the places and do find a decent livable place nearby then few os us girls can decide to go for PG. Coming straight frm outside with no idea of the city I feel its best to be in hostel for first 2-3 mths...wot say Candlez? I'm coming frm Kolkata.
I haven't seen any of hte areas. I HOPE THE EVER BUBBLING SENIORS CAN PLS GUIDE US BY ENQUIRNG WITH A GIRL BATCHMATE WHT THEY DID.....RITESH, BRYAN ADAMS, RAMDEO BABA.....KINDLY ANSWER OUR QUERIES....

Bryan Adams Sayswell i guess the college ppl take whole years fee for hostel so u have to make decision bfore joininh bcoz if u opt for hostel than u need to stay hostel for one whole yr so think and nake ur decision:satisfie::satisfie:
