having 2nd presentation of Mergers and Acquisitions and 1st presentation of Advertising Management. In Advertising Management our group's topic is "TRADE PROMOTION". Its really an interesting topic, i hope my group members, Siddharth, Rajat and Pratyush must have found some informative facts and figures for the topic. As, mine part was to cover the Historical facts, which is almost done, and other group members had decided to work upon the current facts and activities.
Life @FIIB.. Life experience is the word.. every body in a B-school does the regular course that every MBA student has to go through but here at FIIB life is a little different than the rest.. We recently had our annual cultural and management fest Samavesh-12.. and what an experience.. With managing last minute preparations to participating most importantly winning.. the amount of responsibility on your shoulder-tremendous.. Samavesh was more than a learning experience.. A start of a new venture, new friendships and new learning.. i wish next march comes real soon...

Placements have been in financial service, banks, consulting, mktg/sales in FMCG etc. While the highest placement as per my knowledge is about 7 lakh, the average is somewhere between 3.5 to 4 lakh. FIIB allows you to do 2 majors(i.e. Dual specialization), for example you can specialize in Finance and IB, or IB and Mktg. Depends on your interests but most jobs are in Finance, Marketing and higher paying ones especially.

Placements have been excellent, you can get detailed information by visiting the official site. I myself have been placed at CapitalIQ at a package of 4.2 lakhs p.a., my room mate has also been placed in IDBI at a package of 5.6 lakhs p.a.
Now its upto your own judgement.
As far as specialization is considered it depends on your interests:)

Nominations for the co-head positions for the 15 Clubs and Committees on campus are in full swing. We had an excellent placement season for the batch 2010-12. Near about 75-80% of students have been already placed and more companies are visiting and are in the pipeline for April month :):)
Placements 2012 at FIIB are going very well. A significant majority of the batch has been placed and balance placements continuing with a good pipeline of companies. FIIB students have been recruited for diversified functions, sectors and international postings. A snapshot of some of the recruiter brands by the functions they have offered to FIIB-ians includes: Banking (Federal, HDFC, IDBI, Kotak, Yes Bank.....); Financial Analysis / Consulting (Accenture, Amex, Capital IQ, Deloitte, KPMG.....); Marketing (Citibank, Future Grp, Neilsoft, Reliance, Radio Mantra, Tata AIG, UB.....); International Business (Committed Grp, Kuehne+Nagel, Safexpress, Siesta.....); HR (Corner Office, Genpact, Mancer.....). Do follow some earlier posts from students on this thread to get a sense of salary packages.
If your question is for 2011 graduating batch, placements were 100% and with good recruiter brands like the current year. If your question is for summer internships for the 2011-13 batch, there is again a good recruiter list which includes names such as Bajaj, Reliance, Pepsi, Carrefour, Percept, Business Standard, SAIL, Radico, Khaitan, HT Media and many more.
