Volunteering for Meraki 2015

As we know, Meraki 2015 is an international level Business Plan Competition (BPC) for students who are looking to launch a socially, financially and technologically sustainable entrepreneurial venture.  Meraki- 2015- B Plan Competition Organized by Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB), the launch of the 4th edition of the prestigious annual international Business Plan Competition (BPC) - Meraki on 30th and 31st of January, 2015.  The Meraki BPC is a unique initiative of FIIB, which believes that most student business ideas die due to lack of an appropriate platform. As some of the students who have their own business virtual plans but they do not have any path to make it possible so Meraki is globally providing that platform to those students for which they can live their dreams.

Being a student volunteer of this business plan competition, I want to share some important news that this year we had break the previous records and we got 182 registration. This is a huge success of our FIIB Udaan club team. Being a part of Udaan club, this platform gave me also some opportunities, learnings and exposure to enhance my knowledge, giving us an overall idea to become an entrepreneur.

This year in Meraki, top 12 teams are selected for the finals, and the best 3 would be awarded with the fellowships. Selected teams are going to present a business plan describing a B-Plan that will be wholly original and based on the independent thinking of the team.  The idea can be for a product, services or a social venture.  The Judges focus on the sustainability of the business in the specific context.

As per the selection process the judges were asked to announce Top 10 teams; but the plans were of such a good quality that after intense deliberation they came out with Top 12 teams. This has happened for the first time in the history!!

The Jury Panel comprising top level personnel from renowned companies such as Mayfield, Capital18, AsiaBridge Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners declared the top 12 teams who would be competing with each other in the final round which is scheduled for 30th and 31st January 2015.

Also after 182 successful registrations, our club faculty mentors had organised a pizza party, that encouraged us to volunteer with full spirit.

Zee business, EBay, Line and Events Tiger are our partners, and this itself is a success to have such networks initiating to promote our event.

Only 1 day is left.....Let's hope Meraki 2015 concludes with a bang !
