Do you mean to say that Great lakes provides decent switching oppurtinities? (after 4+ years of IT experince). Just like you I have a similar interest but absolutely no experince. Will GLIM be able to provide enough opuutunities?

GET tests more of your quant ability...its not as tough as cat...prepare well in basic maths like - Percentages, speed time etc....dont dwell too much into modern maths like set theory, Sequences etc......and again there are only 75 qs in 90 mts.......so time is not a critical factor....for DI, a basic prep is ok since when i took GET i dint find any DI qs.....and for VA, if you have a grip over basic vocab, the test should not be any cause of worry for you...this is my experience with the GET.....junta....if u have experiences pls do put it across......

Glakes is having a 1 yr MBA and they are hoping to cover the syllabus on the same lines as 2 yr MBA. This means that the time at Glakes will be rather stressfull. Atleast thats what the students of ISB say. can some of the current glakes students comment on this.
Also, how are the international placements ? what kind of ppl(exp, domain) generally get such offers.
In the degree certificate which one gets after completing the course, what will be the degree awarded. is it MBA or a diploma in Business ?
One more thing, guys please keep these correspondence in the forum posts only, rather than requesting/replying persoanlly, as this will help all the ppl intersted in Glakes.

Stress - Well honestly speaking i guess u can manage. its not kinda panicky situation. yeah somedays you might have to sleep 3 hrs, some 2 hrs some days u might sleep 10. so its all upto how u prioritise and how u want to work. if u want u can free -ride and have a blast u can, but at last there is no such thing as free-lunch in this world. so its your call buddy.
International placements
first batch had 50% freshers and besides college had zero percent publicity. so it has been really difficult to really inform recruiters to come and recruit for international operations. but still there were around 5-6 offers and they were for experienced people and yes some 2-3 years experienced people did get into dubai and singapore in case that falls as international
this batch i cant say . we have 88% ppl with work ex. college has just a year of history.so lets wait n watch.
Degree
since we do not fall under any university the degree is just a diploma not a MBA degree. for that matter even the IIMs,ISB,SPJains have diplomas. ours is PGPM diploma bearing labels of IIT,chicago , Yale university and nangyang.
i hope i have clarified a few points.

Seems individual mails has already been sent to the applicants. The reporting time is 7 45 in the morning. The GET will start at 8 30 and the GD at 10 00.
The academic office people said that individual mails (both email and snail mail) have been sent.

The feedback that you have received is not correct. The faculty may use videos as an aid for teaching, but the videos replacing the faculty is not correct at all. Probably your friend had attended our Conclave where a video of Philip Kotler's address to students of Great Lakes was shown.

This is Rakesh from Australia. I am working as a Dealer in a Casino which is more of a customer service role. I did my Master of Business in Accounting here from Victoria University in dec 2004. Earlier I was working full time @ Indian Railways during my bachelors for 4 yrs b4 comming here.
My plan is to come back to India and settle there. And I believe that an MBA of 1 yr from GLIM is cost effective and helps me in getting a job there. Guys I have a GMAT of 590 ( was expecting atleast 650+ but u know it is one of those days). So is that score enough or u guys suggest me to write the GET. Also do you guys think that i have a chance of getting the admission if I do well in other areas or my stint here in Australia goes against me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can anybody plz tell me about my chances for GLIM ?

GD : will rate it as 5-6 in a scale of 10
PI : PI was going very well till they asked about where do I want to land up after doing my MBA...and to my utter misfortune I said "FINANCIAL CONSULTANCY". (I am an Elx and TC Engg, having an exp of 18 months at HSBC Software India pune Ltd). I think i should have better said IT consultancy. .... 😞 Then my interview was screwed up because of that question.

This is prashanth a Great lakes student. i think from whatever i can gauge the chances are real high . one question does not cause a blemish on your credentials which seem real fair to me. as far as results go, honestly speaking they were supposed to come out by today , i dont understand the reason. The thing is consolidation of results from different places takes time , besides we have close to 7 courses going on.so the workload on administrative staff is really high. i can assure you that the results will be out by this week.( this is what we have heard from admission office). if not next week it shud defly be out. I will try to get official confirmation. just thought that i should keep u guyz posted on whatever is happening till this instant. in case of any updates i will immediately apprise u ppl.

Chill buddies.... We hope all of you get to hear whatever you want as far as the results go :D. The admission round for Mumbai bangalore hyderabad etc took place on saturday. The team needs quality time to go through the process. So chillax! Ideally everyone will be e-mailed about their results, but i'd suggest you peeple call up and find out about the same personally. Yes results were to be announced on MONDAY... that is today... final call has prolly not been taken. Hopefully you will get to hear from them tomorrow!
We shall try our best to post the results here! No promises on that one though.
