My name is bhaskar... i ve given my CAT this yr... i m awaiting my results..I ve 2 yrs work ex and m very keen on GLIM... i m from bangalore... applyin in the second phase... how is the admission process ?? how important are the cat scores and wat is the weightage for the SOPs and teh appln we fill in... pl help me out guys..!!

hi i am a last year bms student do u think its worth for me to apply to glim witot work experience as i have heard it will soon be in the a list of b schools and also can some one enlighten me over admission process and selection basis and even application process i have registered on glim site so what is the info cd all about and in what time can i get it at my place i live at mumbai so any glim office in mumbai

Thanks for the info , i had called up GLIM and i was told that my status is "ON HOLD". after futhur enquiring i was told that its like waiting list but not exactly.I am really confused as to what this means.

Could you or anyone for that matter please tell me what does "ON HOLD" mean ,and what are the realistic chances to get through to GLIM with this status.

The priority goes like this Selected Candidates, Wait List, On Hold. If some selected people do not accept the offer, people in the wait list move ahead. And it works that way. Honestly I feel that the chances are less given the fact that phase two of the admissions are yet to happen.

I had asked about how "On hold" works from AD Comm..and this is what i ws told>>>

1. First Priority will be given to candidates who are selected.
2. As and when these people opt out of Great Lakes, People in Waitlist start moving up.
3. Then 2nd Phase of interviews take and again 1st preference is given to Selected and then to Waitlist people.
4. If by now they are unable to get in 125-130 people, then they open up the forms of people who are ON HOLD from both Phase one and Phase two,whereby calling them individually based on the better amongst them.

I m sure many more like me who r comin in for Phase 2 will be delighted to see any such post.
Ppl hav done that in past in this forum and now its upto u guys to do the kind work.

Thanks a lot for wishes and all the very best -- I hope you do well and get a call from Great Lakes. My Evaluation Experience :

Attended the GD/PI in Bangalore and as i was applying through CAT scores (2004) i was asked to report at 9:30 AM. I reached there at around 9 but due to some tech snag the process got delayed and GD for me started at 10:30.

Topic : How to make Indian Politics Attractive.

There were 9 people in the Group Discussion and a panel of two members. We were given 2 mins to think. It was a very decent GD where in not many shouted or interruptted but lots did commit a few mistakes like --- Looking at the Panel while addressing,Interrupting between introduction,speaking after the summary has been done etc etc.

We were then moved for Interview to another room, where in i was interviewed by 3 People in Panel, 2 of them some senior people(not from Great Lakes) and one Alumini of Great Lakes.As soon as i entered they asked me to describe myself in one sec (one line).From there on they kept asking ques on the same. {Dont ask me my answers}

Next was what are yur hobbies..I said Biking besides a few...and Biking it was for the whiole interview then...Where all ve yu been,hieghts of places,speed at which yu travel,if caught by a cop will yu pay bribe...and topic shifted to ethical from here on....If yu are CEO of a company will yu bribe Govt, If yu are Bush will yu attck Iraq...and then A one liner ?//?/Success or Happiness ...???Why the one yu select ....

Then they allowed me to ask a few ques...i asked abt the verticals and horizontals and then y chinese is mandatory.....

Then i was asked for verification of certificates...

That was it...

ne other thing...do ask ...

Hi,

I need some time to decide - whether Iam going to apply for GLIM or not. There are some personal reasons for it. I will be able to decide it only after feb. Then I will not have enough time to write the essays. I would really appreciate if someone can post the essay questions on this forum.

just called the glim office and i am in too!!!
i attended the interview/gd at chennai on 17th.
btw vijaikrishnak were u the one who answered questions as we waited that day, along with another glimmer gopal. (not too sure though...)
good luck for those appl in phase 2.

Thanks Manik for furthur clarifying on my doubts.

I am from Infy as well , and if i remember correctly we were part of the same GD . Was just curious about what you answered on the "Bribing a cop question" as i was asked the same Q and i thought i gave a ridiculous answer, would request you enlighten me on this one.

A BIG CONGRATS

Hi Cousins,

U guyz must be surprised i guess, well we at great lakes are a part of a greater family bonded by Uncle bala which automatically makes us as cousins and by joing Great lakes u get into the family and by default become our cousins. Hope all selected people join and be a part of this close knit family.

I would request you guyz to post in your profiles as well as interview experiences in this thread so that it can serve as a one stop thread for all queries and info regarding great lakes. anyways its your call guyz..

Anyways gtg as classes have been too hectic these days and the number of assignments doubling up with each passing day , it sure does take a toll on other activities.
