Allright so we are in the last week of our internship........however few of our batchmates are goin to slog for 1week more....Luckily i am nt one of them!
Fortunately again we are gettin some breather as in break after our prject and hence most of us r goin back home.........nw the timing couldnt have been better with Diwali round the corner!
As far as action back in college is concerned.......2 great things happened:
Firstly our batchmates specifically Suraj and Atma shot a five min video in college as a part of a competetition for IIT Mumbai......and they WON IT!!!!!!!Now its a great news as they shot this video in college with our batch mates performing in it......impressive aint it!

Secondly an exciting news came from Uncle ( Dr Bala for non intiators!) side. He has been appointed as a member of the "Senior Advisory Board" of Waterstone Management Group , which is both a consulting and private equity group acquiring some companies of repute in Business Analytics,, Risk management and other areas. Tom Davenport a well known author is also joining this group.A new feather in Uncle's voluminous and heavy feathered crown
Also a small request.........i see a lot of queries about palcement and other attributes of Great Lakes on admission thread. Now puys i wld appreciate if all such queries are asked here and very specific questns abt recos, profiles, dates etc asked at Adcomm thread. Dont load them with questns which r generic in nature as they anyways are extrmely caught up with many admission related queries.

On this great day, we are finishing our intenship and are all set to get back 2 college
But before that we all will rush to our home towns for few days. I can not overstate the excitement with which v r lookin forward to being back home.
However next week ,college starts and again v need to go through a back breaking schedule ......bt knw wht fellas ........v r lookin frwrd 2 it!

An extended stay back home followed by login issues led to this delay in updating whats latest in campus.
Classes in elective phase has started and Guest Lectures are back with a bang. Also since we are pretty close to our annual b-fest that is Latitiude ...........hectic activity is goin on in that department.
Bt among all of this it feels amazin to be back in college.........a feeling tht nthng beats and v all are relishing every bit of it
The monk is back to issue sermons and all of the junta here watch the space for latest in GL.......with admission activities goin on there is plenty to talk about

As for activities in college goes..........one word i.e. LATTITUDE sums it all up.........with the partcipation from colleges as far as Tokyo , we sure have a grand show on 14 and 15 of Decemeber
Although if it gives an impression that studies have taken a back seat then let me clarify thats hardly the case:( We have tests and classes lined up right till 13th.............hwever v can handle that

Hi ppl,
I know it has been some time since i posted but the kind of grind we are going through is unprecedented till now.
Few of us as in people who have opted for a selective courses have classes ri8 from 7 a.m to 10.30 in ni8 !:wow:the only breaks which we get these days is of 15 mins between sessions and thats how the entire month is lined up for us.
Yours truly is part of these selected individuals who have to go through all of this and no wonder u ppl dont find me issuing sermons on p.g
However there is a quick respite in near future and that is..........LATTITUDE !
Boy aint i am looking forward to it........2 days of fun and entertainment with the oppertunity to listen to dignatries GREAT LAKES style!!!

we had Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt here yesterday......the father of THEORY OF CONSTRAINS and celebrated author of the bestseller book GOAL.
For non intitators this is THE BOOK to understand supply chain management and operations, and worldover it is the must for management students.
The lecture was all about his assesment of managment as a sciencse and how he sees future. Add to that his genius, arrogance , oratory skills and u get a great lecture on hand .Every1 was spell bound by the man's command on the topic and soon it started to settle in that how Legends define the growth and future of an industry.
This is one of the biggest features of GL..........the kind of academic interaction possible here is envy of top colleges.Mr Goldratt flew from Israel to take this lecture and as far as v r concerned.......it was worth it!

So continuing from where i left last time............LATTITUDE was a grand sucess. Very few B-schools in the country can boast of the kind of guests who lined up for our fest and it was great to be there.
Especially the whole oppertunity of meeting the Governor of RBI Mr Y.B.Reddy and Mr. Narayana Murthy is beyond expression. The games , the rock show only added to the flavour and the spirit of LATTITUDE 13 05.

But Lattitude is not the only event which happened here this december. We also organized to grand multinational conferenes here in Chennai. One was YALE Research conference while another was NASMIE..........both these events were attented by academicians who flew in from all over the world. France, Germany, Australia............u name any reputed college...........we had them here presenting their papers.
For the first time in my life and i guess i can speak on behalf of my batchmates here...........i was a part of such an academic event and trst me when i say this...........its had tremendous learning quotient.
It was great fun puys and i am sure all of u who are gonna be a part of GL next year will surely be able to appreciate this.

Recently we were taught by Dstinguished Professor of Stanford Univeristy, Prof Seenu Srinivasan......and it was a great learning experience.
Now Prof Seenu taugh us Conjoint Analayis........a basic marketing research tool which every marketing student needs to be aware off......... however the big deal about the issue is this that he is the FATHER of CONJOINT ANALYSIS!!!!!!.........He is the guy who invented that tool which is considered the best tool for market research!
Now how many MBA programs can boast of concepts being taught by people who actually inevented it, and that too topics which are must for management students across the world! After Uncle Bala who is the best cost accounting prof in the world, E.Goldaratt taught us theory of constrains and now Prof Seenu teaching us Conjoint analysis.........and we Greatlakers are loving it for sure.......

Quite some while since i posted on PG and my buddy theunkindmonk has been holding fort for long. So here i am after a brief break. Well its all been happening here in Great Lakes. Management fest, Research fest and a host of parties. Yes we do manage to party amidst the hectic time tables. After a rocking new year party, we had an alumni meet yday. Alumni from different parts of the contry flew in to grace the event. Man with our alumni playing key roles in the decision making process of most of the top notch organizations of the world, we arent far away from those of the best B-Schools in India. With Uncle Bala announcing some of the major additions in permanent faculty list, the details of which would be made public soon, it really turned out to be a proud day for any GreatLaker.
As we gear up for the most awaited event of the year, i.e. placements, Great Lakes looks set to take the management education in India to the next level of leadership and accomplishments.

Format for recos is available online or otherwise (whichever way u decide to apply) however if you are asking what content ur recos should have then i guess no applicant has a say over it. It absolutely depends upon the ppl who are gonna recommend u to the institute..........and i wld just like to add that a genuine reco with an average assesement is much better than a great recco which is nt genuine!!!
