IFMR MUN | 27 January 2018 IFMR MUN 2018 had 3 committees running in parallel. They were UNGA, AIPPM and UNSC. Details as below. The event was organised by the Model United Nations (MUN) committee of IFMR. The United Nations General Assembly at IFMR MUN, held on 27/01/18 began with the agenda of discussing the roadmap to end the conflict in Syria and stabilization of the Middle East. What began as a generic discussion with facts being elicited went on to give out important trivia that were usually not available to the public. Delegates represented various countries that were integral to the topic of discussion. Countries as prominent as the USA and Russia as well as subjacent ones to the subject of discussion like Bolivia, Singapore, Finland were part of the delegation. The 28-member strong UNGA discussed the agenda in depth with poise, analytically that would be unseen in other discussions. The All India Political Parties meet (AIPPM) was conducted on 27/01/2018, at IFMR MUN. The delegates were 18 members strong from various universities from Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. AIPPM has not been simulated too often in the South Indian debating circuit, and the agendas were chosen with reference to recent developments in Indian Politics representing various political parties such as the BJP, INC, SP and the presence of a member representing Barkha Dutt, the prominent television journalist. The topics involved freedom of speech and expression, Censorship and the role of CBFC, freedom of the press, etc. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) discussed the Agenda that is “Right to Self-Determination With respect To Rohingya Muslims.” Delegates represented various countries that were integral to the topic of discussion. Countries from as important as the USA, South Africa to trivial ones to the subject of discussion like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, France and Iran were part of the delegation. The 10-member strong UNSC discussed the agenda in depth with poise and analysis that would be unseen in other discussions. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1661142323932336&id=220602621319654

Abhyudaya 2018: Whenever February comes the entire campus of IFMR becomes excited. It’s that time of the year when IFMR organised its annual cultural and management fest “Abhyudaya”.This time the madness was no different. It was a 3 day long cultural and management extravaganza which happened on Feb 9, 10 and 11, 2018 with the theme “Mélange”. The students also grooved to the music of “Junkyard Groove”, a Chennai based band followed by an EDM night by DJ Digvijay.Overall the three days proved to be the best 3 days of the MBA life for both students and participants. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1685356944844207&id=220602621319654

We celebrated Children's Day in a Government school and gathered a lot of sweet memories with many adorable children. We played cricket, football, dogs and bones etc. Many volunteers distributed books, copies, soft drinks to those children. It is not only spread happiness to those children but also we feel same after spending time with those children.
