Hey puys...once again today was a fun-filled day..with a tinge of creativity though...
It was macro-economics mid-term exam this evening....ofcourse we all were happy that the exam was over...but what awaited us...was even better...
The creativity club...was on full throtle today..so was the whole college..senior as well as the junie batch........
Ya it was the treasure hunt!!!...followed by some desi style disco...plus water sport...vow that combo was truly great.........
WORK hard PARTY harderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........!!!
Will get back to you soon...surely..
Probably back too soon..I guess..but cant stop myself from divulging this even this late in the night...well I guess the meaning of "night" has lost its meaning at IFMR...yhe hostel is full of life....
But coming to the point the VP...ya you heard it right the VP(Vice president)...of TCS is gonna come to IFMR tomorrow... to address us..what a chance that would be...!!!.. He would give his insights on how we need to be geared up...to step into the managerial roles in corporate companies.....such happenings will surely help us....
its Quantitative methods mid term in a hour and by now everyone will working out all kind of problems vigorously on paper. My motive here to post however is different- to salute the dedication of batch mate - Naman Singh (maverick). For today's exam he was der at 2:30 am all dressed up and has studied 7 hours straight fr the exam despite covering 70 % of syllabus already. now that is what u call dedication:P.
its gonna be "mind boggling" test as our beloved faculty PKV puts it and wud keep u all posted abt it.
I am blessed to a roomate like Naman. IFMRians study hard party harder!
its gud to see dat ppl are getting inspired from me......some ppl are already calling me "owl of the class"........what shall i say. This is what happens when u open ur books only during exams.
Table tennis tournament today! Singles , doubles , mixed doubles . People are all geared up for the gala event. Kudos to Sports Committee
This morning there is a badminton tourney to be conducted across all categories i.e singles , doubles and mixed doubles. So this is the time to unwind ourselves and enjoy the game as well the atmosphere of our batch-mates making some silly comments ...this is on the sports front..
I also have something interesting for you on the corporate front. We had an esteemed guest at our campus couple of days ago. He was the GM, Finance at FORD. He is person with immense expertise in the AUTOMOBILE industry hence the very obvious followed. We were really enthralled by what we heard.
He gave us a wholesome perspective on all the prevailing trends in the automobile industry as well as the economy as whole which was very relevant to all of us as budding managers.
We into the depths of pricing models, positioning of the brand...in short it had it all...another sector is next in line very soon ....
There were also some key guests present a week ago.I feel I sorely missed these sessions as I was out of Chennai at that time , anyhow my buddies are around to give a gist to what was talked about.
Two esteemed guests I understand , one from MCX commodities exchange and one an ex-CITI BANK official who has started his own venture gave tremendous talk...My buddies who were present would be able to give a better picture I guess..bye for now until then

Had a great lecture by Mr Srinivasan- (GM) 3I infotech. He spoke at length about sustainability of our economy in the long run and global picture of india. We discussed at length about what india is doing right and what not. The need for competitive edge was also talked about. Then the talk drifted to what we will do once we join a firm like 3I infotech.
