I thought i will help all the aspriants of CAT,who belivis that they cannot make into a top10, but still looking for a premier B Schol,IMDR(Institute of Management Development & Research) is a better choice.

telling about IMDR in short, its amoung the oldest bschools in india.Estab in 1974,it is regarded as a good institue to complete ur management studies. One amoung the unique things about IMDR is its economical fee structure (total 56,000) and the amizing part is that you will get a decent enough placement that fetch you around 3k an annum(higest package offered was 4.7 and lowest was 2.3(FCB Ulka (ad agency dont pay much, and the most of the salary ranged around 3-3.5). Also IMDR is known its culture which allows student to be himself and to be independent. there is lot more to tell and i will adress it in coming days

For any queries about the college or admission process feel free to ask to me. i will try my level best to answer it.

what abt the cut off

I am real doubtful bout IMDR?? Would it be fine for some one with with 20 months work-ex?? Which other institutes in india is it comparable with..........

anees:
ok about the cutoff : a decent score of 80 percentil will do. aso the college does not look for induvidual cuttoff
jayesh:
if you got good workex you have a better chance of getting a good placement. Our seiours with good work ex got a salary of 4.67(HCL Tech). also we have students with good work exp with an REC background.
we dont participate in rankings. so its hard for me to say the ranking of institue. Still now we got 100% placements and we got a got alumini network which will help you in future also. Still if you want to compaire u can compaire it with SIBM,KJ Som..etc easlly
hey one of my friends wants do to mba through donations. is it possible in your college ?

mr confusedguy wanto to do mba through donation. is it possible in your college ?

no. all the seats are through merit.

if he got less money and less marks ask him to try for BITS Pilani,he got a good chance to get there

I need to know is the degree provided recognised by AICTE or for that matter Pune University

Hey..
I went to IMDR in April 2005...
As I had got a call from IMDR last year...

Rocking place man..
The professors were fundu...

Loved the place...

After the results were announced my merit number was
WL #5...
And it was converted...:)

But could not join last year because I was pursuing a course then
and could not leave it midway... :x :x

Let bygones be bygones...

This year giving CAT again...
And will apply to IMDR too...

My question is...
Will my decission not to take last year,
affect this year's selection process ?

Thanx..

P.S. : I would recommend IMDR to anyone and everyone.

To tell you more about it...

Now it is autonomous...

ya thats why one of my seniours denied ur college and came to do his Degree from our college. also i agree that BITS is good for Eng but not good for Management. it is only survivng because of BITS name.

Well eeestudent, mayb hes wrong when he compares BITS pilani with IMDR but to say that IMDR is an unknown college would be a mistake.
Let me give you some gyan and increase your knowlege about imdr.
Its one of the best known colleges in pune, has been around longer than SCMHRD and has got gr8 industry interface and roi(return of investment) is comparaqble with any other 'TOP' bschool in india and better than any B or C rung school.
Tell me when you spend around 60k for an pgdm and get a placement of around 2.5 avg isnt it worth your money.
also if u ever were to visit IMDR, i am sure you be be taken in by its old world charm,I havent really been inside the college as such but being a puniete since a long tym, happen to pass by the college a lot of times.
I would recommend IMDR to any1 who wants to do mba from a good bschool.
Its a pity that they dont advertise their college enuff and with their cuts off around 75 in cat you can expect quite an intellectual crowd.
myb nibupraju you could put it across to your college authorities that they hike the fees to around 4 fold and advertise heavily and participate in business ranking, maybe then ppl like eeestudent would be convinced but on second thought...what the heck,do we really need to convience such ppl?.i think not,i think it is better the way it is now.
cheers,
frank.

hi nibupraju,
I have already pm'd you and spoken on this topic but for the benifit of others and me ofcourse, would like to ask a few more details from you again.
tell me how gud is the insti with placements related to the telecom and fmcg sector specifically related to marketing.
i have been to the website and i believe most of the placements are with export houses and logisitcs companies.
would be glad if you could throw some lite on the above.
cheers,
frank/

hi guys.... me too wanted to ask the same question...read that most of the placements at IMDR are in the Shipping industry and in Exports...

What i am really interested in is an MBA in Systems or MBA in IT...Can you tell me what the scene is at IMDR with respect to Systems and IT.... i mean.. the infrastructure, faculty, industry interface, and placements (of course)... i checked out the official website ..but that wasn't too informative in this regard..

please help....

guys we dont have mba in bits. we have MMS which is like a bba. if we have had a mba we would have bits is top ten category in india. and 3 lacs placements for a mms course is not bad
