National Workshop on Entrepreneurship: Create an Entrepreneur

IMS Ghaziabad always values the importance of Corporate Interface and endeavors to provide the best environment to its students fraternity, to learn directly from the leaders. 35 PGDM students of IMS Ghaziabad were selected by CEGR for attending National Workshop on Entrepreneurship on February 24, 2015. The workshop had the presence of entrepreneurs who emphasized on being job creators rather than being job seekers.

Mr. Ajay Tongar, Director, Care Voice shared the realities and myths associated with entrepreneurship and its forthcoming challenges. Mr. Lokesh Mehra, an Edupreneur, elucidated on how Technology = Entrepreneurship and how everything these days become digitalize with 5 C's i.e. Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Computing and Critical thinking.

Mrs. Jayashree Srivastava, M.D., IshaanVidyaprep pvt. Ltd and President, CEGR focused on importance of soft skills for effective leadership and role of collaboration, consideration, communication & commitment for a leader. Mr. Shantanu Srivastava, Director, Ishaan International Pvt. Ltd shared his journey of success which started with just $852 dollar and has turned into a big venture today.

The other vibrant speakers were Mr. Vikas Kandoori, Director,Viva Voyages Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. S.P.Singh, Former Director, NTPC Ltd. and Ms. Surabhi Dewra, Cofounder & CEO, Meracareerguide.com who had initially faced lot of challenges, failure in their life when they started their own enterprise but learnt from their mistakes & failure and every time they regained themselves to climb new heights in their career.

PGDM Students acquired knowledge and wisdom from those young leaders of entrepreneurial world and were exposed to a new realm of management.

Special session on 'Analysis of Union Budget 2015-16' at IMS Ghaziabad

Institute of Management Studies Ghaziabad organized a special session on 'Analysis of Union Budget 2015-16' on February 3, 2015. The session was organized by faculty of finance for PGDM students with an objective of creating awareness of the key declarations made in union budget for economic development of the country and their impact on different industries.

The session started with the gracious presence of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad, Dr. Tapan Nayak, Program Chairperson and all faculty members of IMS Ghaziabad. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, in her address to the students, emphasized the importance of union budget and its impact on Indian economy and the corporate world. She also shared major breakthroughs of this budget, which targeted on economic development and refrained from populism.

Dr. Vidya Sekhri presented an overall view of union budget and highlighted the salient points of it. Dr. Nandita Mishra discussed the developments made in the budget related to direct taxation for individuals and corporate sector. Professor Mayank Kumar addressed the key changes proposed in union budget related to indirect taxation and its impact on the pricing of goods and services. Dr. Anurag Pahuja and Dr. Neeraj Sanghi presented the effect of key declarations of union budget on different industries of Indian economy. More than 500 Budding managers were benefited with the key takeaways from the session.

Industry Visit to Anmol Biscuits Pvt. Limited, Greater Noida

"Learning is the only way of growing", believing in this notion; IMS Ghaziabad has always initiated to provide the learning directly from industry.IMS Ghaziabad organized an industrial visit to Anmol Biscuits Pvt. Limited Greater Noida for the students of PGDM 2014-16 batch.

Dr. NeerajSanghi and Ms. Nidhi Agarwal along with PGDM students visited the plant and had an interaction with Mr. B.S. Sharma, Assistant Manager Plant and Mr. A.K. Saxena,Senior Manager Quality Control. Mr. B.S. Sharma addressed the students and gave a briefing of procurement, manufacturing and dispatch departments of the industry.

PGDM Students visited the plant and observed all manufacturing processes of the industry. Students have shown a keen interest in plant processing and quality control section of the company. Mr. A.K. Saxena settled the queries of the students about the quality related issues of products. It has been a wonderful learning experience to the students.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad was invited as a special guest of honor during their two day annual intellectual fest Odyssey'15 on February 18 & 19, 2015. It was an honor for IMS Ghaziabad that She shared the dais with Dr. Ashok Khemka, Transport Commissioner, Haryana.
