Alumni Talk Series for PGDM 2015-17

With an objective to provide real life exposure of Corporate Challenges to all our students, IMS Ghaziabad organized the first Alumni Talk Series (ATS) for the PGDM batch 2015-17 conducted on September 19, 2015.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director of the Institute welcomed the alumni to their second home and addressed students as it would be a golden opportunity to be trained from the experienced ones. Mr. Manish Kharor, Research Lead from Evalueserve and alumnus of PGDM 2006-08 and Mr. Utkarsh Deep, Associate Director, Brix and alumnus of PGDM 2007-09 graced the session as speakers for the day.

While interacting with students, they shared their personal as well as professional experiences and guided with various directions. They enlightened the current batch with fundamentals and guidelines about how to achieve success and handle pressure in corporate world. It was enriching experience for students, as they enquired various interactive questions and clarified doubts from the alumni. The Alumni Talk Series enhanced the motivation level among the PGDM students.

Adding another feather to glorious leap of 25 years, IMS Ghaziabad is one of the prestigious institutes who are authorized to take CAT Score as an entry criterion.

Since 1990, IMS Ghaziabad offers 2 years full time PGDM Programme which has been awarded the MBA equivalent status by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and AICTE. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has also granted accreditation to the PGDM programme of our institute. With the advent of CAT 2015, IMS Ghaziabad is accredited to accept CAT Score for its PGDM Programme. All Over India, 97 NON-IIMs Member Institutions are certified to admit CAT Score and IMS Ghaziabad has been the most preferred institute from Ghaziabad district.

IMSians attended the NextGen Healtcare Conclave Organized by CII

With an objective to provide Corporate Exposure to all our students, IMS Ghaziabad provided an opportunity to its MCA Students to attend the "NextGen Healthcare Conclave - Quality Healthcare for All" organized by CII (Confederation of India Industry) on September 3, 2015 at Hotel Shangri La, New Delhi.

The Conference dedicated on the role of technology and innovation in developing quality healthcare apart from establishing standards and certification for valuable healthcare and decoding the Clinical Establishment Act. The other topics that were discussed at large were Next Generation Epidemic, Diabetes and Healthcare models for undeserved markets.

The conference was inaugurated by Shri J P Nadda - Hon'ble Health Minister - Govt. Of India and witnessed more than thirty prominent and influential speakers from Top organizations like WHO, MAX Hospitals, PGI Chandigarh, Apollo Hospitals, Cygnus Hospitals, Dr Lal Path Labs, Johnsons and Johnsons, Fortis Healtcare, Kallows Engineering and many More.

The purpose of providing this opportunity is to apprise the budding technocrats of IMS Ghaziabad with the current scenario prevailing in the industry and to understand the role of technology and innovation in Healthcare industry. It was a great learning experience for the MCA students and will surely help them in clarifying their fundamental concepts and deciding their area of learning and research.

To enhance the employ ability quotient of the PGDM students 2015-17 and to create awareness about self-realization, IMS Ghaziabad organized special session on soft skills on August 03, 2015. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director welcomed Ms. Vatsala Agarwal, Director, Erudion Education Private Limited, Gurgaon and addressed the fresh blood with her motivating words.

Ms. Agarwal started the session with the importance of self-realization and enlightenment. She focused on the identification of conditioned beliefs, opinions, fears, desires, and habits. She elucidated the difference between Endangerment and Enlightenment. Enlightenment is the belief that the self is determined by the positive virtue and on the contrary, Endangerment states that self is limited, inadequate and incomplete. The term "self-realization" is often related to the concepts of self-actualization, self-discovery, self-reflection and self-exploration.

PGDM 2015-17 students gained the real insight on self-belief and gave assurance to practice the same in every situation of personal and professional life.

The workshop was conducted by Mr Sushil Singh (MCA Alumni) From QA Infotech Pvt. Ltd Noida . Dr. Urvashi Makkar - Director IMS Ghaziabad along Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Gupta , Head - MCA inaugurated the workshop.



In the workshop, the participants were provided a proficient level understanding of software quality testing methodology & principles which includes software test automation. The program equips individuals with latest knowledge in testing domain enabling them to excel in their IT career. In continuation to our efforts in transforming students as industry professionals, few more workshops on Big Data, and Technologies, PHP and Linux based concepts will be delivered to students in coming few days.

Special 30 hours Training on Corporate Finance

To continue the magnificent legacy of providing International and National learning opportunity to its PGDM students, IMS Ghaziabad has initiated a 30 hour dedicated sessions on Corporate Finance from November 06, 2015 onwards. Dr. Satish Kumar, Faculty of Management, Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan visited IMS Ghaziabad to train and teach PGDM 2015-17 students upon the intricacies of Corporate Finance.

During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Programme Chairperson of the institute expressed his gratitude to Dr. Satish who had especially travelled all the way from Jaipur to IMS Ghaziabad to share his words of wisdom and knowledge with the budding managers. He also encouraged the young minds to utilize this splendid opportunity and learn the issues and challenges of Corporate Finance. All PGDM students of batch 2015-17 understood the basic objective of the subject and learned the outlines of the course structure.

This subject focuses on some of the important aspects of the corporate finance theories and relevant tools and techniques to facilitate financial decision making. It aims to expose students towards Financial management, Capital Budgeting, Sources of Long Term Finance, CAPM Model and Capital Structure by analyzing the real bottlenecks through case studies.
