Hult Prize 2020 in association with UN conducted  the On Campus Final Round at Somaiya Vidyavihar, for which the theme was “Bold Businesses for Better Planet”.

10 teams got shortlisted out of 127 registered for OnCampus Final round.

The Event was judged by some of the experts like- 

Mr.Dhaval Thanki (Director, Cartesian Consulting),Mr.Dhaval Shah (Co-founder, PharmEasy), Mr.Gaurang Shetty (Founder, SVV incubator riidl) & Professor Satyajit Majumdar (Professor, TISS).

Mehul Mashrani the president of Enactus, a social entrepreneurship cell, gives us an insight into how being a part of enactus has helped him enhance his leadership qualities and explore other management aspects while pursuing his MBA.

Ravindra H Mainkar Sir has been associated with SIMSR since the very beginning. He started in 1985 as a Typist cum Clerk and because of his hardwork and diligence throughout these years, currently he is an Officer of Compliance in the Administration department of SIMSR.

Ganeshan Nadar Sir has been associated with SIMSR for 26 years. He started off as an assistant and currently heads the Accounts Department of the institution.

Hult Somaiya Vidyavihar, a part of The UNITED NATIONS HULT PRIZE 2020 was organized by the Campus Director (Mustafa Tarwalla) in association with Pathfinders, E-Cell of SIMSR, BloomBox, E-Cell of KJSCE and REDF. The theme this year was "Bold Businesses for Better Planet”. The HULT PRIZE competition helped the students to generate ideas and business plans after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue.

SIMSR congratulates team 'Just in time' (Vedant Kalyankar, Aditya Soni, Samarth Kapur and Sameer Suri) for winning the Hult Prize SVV this year. Heartiest congratulations to Team ‘Inquisitive’ (Ankit Bhargava, Prachi Jain, Shubham Mahaja, Indresh Naithani) for being the Runners-Up.

Working in the biggest FMCG company is no small deal, presenting unique opportunities and problems to solve on a daily basis, and Saurav grabbed onto it while working with Hindustan Uniliver Limited. Working with the tax and operations team allowed him to see the inner workings and how its implementation affected the business. Here he talks about his day to day experience and how it helped him understand the corporate structure. 

We congratulate Husain Rokadia (PGDM 2019-21), winner of Novartis BioCamp' 19, a conference & case study competition organised by Novartis. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.  

Learning should never stop, no matter how far you think you've come, and that's exactly what Anjali made sure of. Coming from an IT background, working in Capgemini as a sales intern helped her in expanding her knowledge base exponentially. Working with people from all over the globe she got to experience different work ethics and culture, providing her with the confidence to move forward and work alongside her senior associates. Here she talks about her experience and how with the help and support of her mentors she was able to achieve her goals.

Here Jyoten talks about his experience and how his internship at ACG taught him professionalism, whether it was meeting deadlines or managing various stakeholders.

Interning at Invesco, one of the leading management firm, is no small task, but for Vrishti, no task is too big. Working at Invesco comprised of continuous interaction, working alongside a team and getting an up-close and personal look at the industry and it's working. Here she talks about how it was an enriching experience for her and how it helped her advance professionally.  

Interning at the reserve bank of India sounds like an impossible task, but Himanshu believes in doing the impossible. Here he talks about his experience while interning at RBI.

Siddharth Sharma, the co-head of National Retail Summit 2018 gives us an insight into how NRS brings together a plethora of talents.Being the co-head, it enabled him to learn management beyond classroom and bring such an extravagant event to reality with a team of 50+ people. He also adds on how the months of hard work results into an experience that one will cherish forever.

Challenges are a part of management studies, but overcoming them is what makes them worthwhile, and that's exactly what Karan did while interning at Reliance Commercial Finance Ltd.

SIMSR Director, Prof. (Dr.) Monica Khanna was recently invited to share her thoughts on 'Role of Leadership in Management Education: Expectations, Challenges and Opportunities' at 'The Future of Management Education Conclave' organised by BusinessWorld Education.

 Enactus Somaiya Social Cell's ‘Project Parivartan’ conducted a street play, performed by the artists of ‘Asmita’ Theatre Group, to raise awareness about proper waste management and segregation. This event marked the beginning of the endeavour to make SIMSR a Zero Waste Campus.
