As a student of MILE I would like to share my experience..The first day of the college was good .Samir Patham sir told us about the timings that we would be working from 5:00 AM to 10.00 PM and I was like what we will do in the early morning. It was basically jogging and it was very difficult for me to get up at 5 in the morning. It was actually my time to sleep in the Vacations ....lolz .But noqw it has become a regular schedule for me.During my bachelors I hardly studied in the college rather went to college for 5 to 6 hours .Here the attendence has to be 90% or above for each subjects. And guest lectures would be compulsory. We also have to shave daily and if not again assignments. The first 14 days of induction we learnt leadership, team work, coordination ,played various management games, also learnt how to handle critical situation and also to be punctual .If we were 5 minites late even for any lectures or classes or even for jogging .Sauraj Sir had 2 assignments ready for us.In a way it was good and that actually made me punctual. We interacted with CEO of Tata Quality Services the first day.Apart from this we had around 20 guest lectures from corporates wherein they gave us the exposure of Banking ,Telecom,BPO,KPO,Insurance,Hospitality Industry..We were also given exposure to Outbound training wherin we had to do river crossing ,and ya i cant forget we also were given vegetables and we had to cook food in an unfavourable climate(you never know when it will start raining). Its was first time that we started to cook food and it was really a lovely experience.and last if we dont even like the food we had cooked we had no other option but eat.But to be frank I think we managed to cook sabzi and khichdi which was yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I cant forget this experience that mile has given me through out my life.
All the credit goes to the entire Management Team of MILE who had been working for months to arrange such a lovely and interesting induction program for us

Life @ MILE is full of surprises. Lots of expectations, lots of activities to do. MILE is completely different from the conventional business school.
  1. Quality & quantity Guest lectures
  2. Outbound activities
  3. Amazing campus - cool cafeteria, fully Wi-Fi enabled campus, auditorium, library with books life Harvard business review
  4. High profile corporate panel
  5. 100% placement assurance
  6. Highly knowledgeable and interactive faculty and many more.

It has completely changes my life. We have started developing interest in reading. We are watching so many different kinds of movies in MILE. Its just amazing.

Recently we went to Koregao Park and worked there at shopkeepers, roadside vendors, restaurants etc. this exercise removed our mind blocks.
We have been taught not say I am not paid to do this job". It is preparing us for the industry.
We all are very sure that our MILE is soon going to be in the top 5 b-school.
CHEERS TO MILE, CHEERS TO OUR FACULTY.

life at MILE, as the name suggest its not an ordinary b-school because here u will get to know what is the knowledge gap that you have to be filled within two years for getting into the corporate world. At MILE we have a culture of working hard foratleast for 15 hours a day. here we also getting the industry exposure through various corporates from various good companies. here the syllabus structure is totally different from other b-schools. We have diversified subjects like liberal arts, talent acquisition, big bing, graphology etc. In all we are getting overall development for today's corporate world here .........

Life I think its discovered here at MILE.

MILE is full of innovative surprises.
What I like at MILE is

First: ~MILE STREET CAFETERIA~
Second: The quality of faculty that we have, corporates, guest lectures.
The overall program design:
Induction, outbound, business activity, mind twisting assignments.
Personality development based daily activities

Hardly missing my home.

Importance of MBA: why I choose MILE
Mile stands for management institute for leadership & excellence where leadership & excellence are different from those of IIMs. MILE is place where coal is converted into the diamonds. And not is that because I am studying in this college therefore it is best but it is actually incredible!
Anyways, why there is so much of competition prevailing in the markets? Why people are getting good packages? May be a job satisfaction or 6 digits incentives.
Especially so in these times, you know the market slowdown and all. What with big brother casting shadows on our pride and joy, our young vibrant and growing BPO industry. Things seem a little murky right now and no thanks to monsoon really. It is just aint raining.
Anyway speaking of the slowdown we heard someone say this is the best time to invest in myself. Stock up on new skills sets; go after that PG course you always wanted to. I agree. I agree to that and I think it is best time to strengthen your career prospects so that the when the market bounce back your into the better position to leverage your work experience with sound CV that proudly proclaim you as an MBA. But compromising with the goals is impossible for me. Now talking personally, I want to see myself five years down the line working on the WALSTREET one of the reputed investment bank

Apart from setting goals one should be always proactive and do some implementation of what we decide in the planner. I really need to understand how it will help me and my career considering I have to invest my hard earned money and 2 years of my precious life ? I dont have any answer, almost as if I had expected. Firstly you do not need hard earned money or your parents money since you gets educational loan which you can start repaying only after getting recruited. Secondly MBA provides better career prospects with the wider choice in HR, FINANCE, Systems, MARKETING across industries like advertising, financial services, insurance, IT, retail, banking, capital markets, media, international business and many more options those are available

Chill big bro...have you ever seen a national calamity news headline carrying J-lo gossip in it?

Ok in case you couldn't connect - subject of this thread is self explanatory and you don't expect "LIFE AT MILE PUNE " to talk about XYZ b-schools

I think everything in it is constructive about what the subject suggests AND no one dragged you to see what we discuss in here.

On your comparing it to the IIMs -at least at this stage you are trying to compare apple to orange

Go read how Stanford was started to have a better clarity in life and between no one here is interested to know your views on Mr Good,Bad or Ugly.

So....get out of your cell and stop being a self proclaimed critic

Will not look forward to your reply.

R.L.DUBE (Former Director, Planning and New Services, BSNL): - Often referred to as the man responsible for bringing a complete revolution in the operation of BSNL, Mr R.L.Dube took out some time from his busy schedule to interact with the Senior batch of MILE on Saturday, the 19th of March . His innovative thought and modern approach changed the picture of the telecom industry in India and during his time at MILE Pune, the student managers were given a rare opportunity to relive the evolution of Indian Telecom sector. Mr. R.L.Dube started his carrier with BSNL after completing his graduation and helped BSNL achieve the position of one of the best telecom companies in India. He also gave us an overview of how BSNL, over a period of time, has transformed and adopted new conventional methods surpassing all the difficulties for implementing them. Mr.Dube has been extremely successful in creating trust in the minds of the people, by creating a customer service centric approach; which is otherwise given a very low priority by most PSUs.

Hi Everyone,
Thought you guyz shud read the below article on summer internships which appeared in ET a couple of days back (n I am sure most of u wud have), since u guyz have created a big bang in Pune with Microsoft paying Rs. 1 lac for their summer internship and the overall summers lookin good at MILE.
The emphasis and focus is very clear with this article...the quality of ur finals will definitely depend on the quality of ur summers....as a good B-school one just cannot compromise on summers (certainly MILE has delivered on this front).
Its quite surprising prospective students ask irrelevant questions like laptop config, and campus size...But very few students ask abt the summers...of course they do enquire abt the finals...

Summer internships a misty world for B-school students-Education-Services-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

Read on and i invite comments and discussion..

hey. I read that article. Yes summer internships are important activity for a quality B-school. I being a student at MILE realised the importance of structured internship process. Students getting into the best of organisations helps both the organisation as well the student manager. Organisation benefits from the fresh talent and the student gets a bright opportunity to work in a professional environment. my batch mates getting in organisations like Standard Chartered, Deloitte, Firstsource, I got in Microsoft. This is not possible if an institute is not bothered about the summer internships which play a vital role in a student manager's career. So its a matter of concern for the institutes and the students to take care of these things. It proves to be a life changing opportunity. These two months spent efficiently and effectively proves to be a transforming factor in a Student manager's career.
