We (class of 2k
joined on 22'nd.
the seniors had planned an induction programme for us.
Herein we had all sorts of activities like the Intro Sessions, Mkting+Stats+Fin tests, Assignments. Initially it seemed like too much too soon. Cos the seniors used to call us @ 11 PM and the sessions used to run till 2 in the morning. But now it seems very trivial as the WC matches begin @ 12:30 
We also had an amazing treasure hunt which was a game where you'd to explore the campus w/ the clues provided @ checkpoints.
During the induction the seniors started pouring in gyaan abt the various commmittee's and other stuff.
Currently with the spate of downpours most of us are stuck to the confines of the campus!
That's to get the ball rolling!
Well, it seems that my batchmates are too busy to ccome to PG! 
And yeah I've started getting used to the Night shift life @ hostel (sleep @ 6 and wake up whenever necessary)
We're done with Mandi, and here's my experience

I want your opinion egarding the NITIE programmes......
First about myself,
name- S.Vignan
Doing Prefinal year in BTech from Hyd in EEE(Electrical and Eletronics) branch. Want to go for CAT next year. How are the oppotunities for the PGDIM and PGDISEM peogrammes? I am asking specifically for NITIE because, i feel itz better if you are from Tech background.....
Also, what do you guys suggest?, first do a job, get ex and then go for cat or can I go for it without the ex....
posted this question else where, but i was told that NITIEans will be in better position to clear my doubts.....

Regarding the programmes in NITIE, I must tell you that you would not fall short of opportunities. And being in Mumbai, you would not realize the advantages that beckon until you actually land here..
In fact, NITIE has three programmes this year, PGDITM( IT- mgmt) included.. The curriculum takes care of all the areas.So, you have enough opportunities to gauge your area of interest before taking the call..
Do not worry abt that..
And if you wanted to know abt how much experience you need and stuff, I tell you it is partly your personal decision and partly when you actually crack the test..
Here, we have a wide range of workexes..So, there is nothing like how much u need to work before doing an MBA..There are advantages and disadvantages at every level...

Thanks for starting this thread...
Its been 3 months into NITIE now.. Its been the best 3 months..
Most rigorous and most happening..
Its been said that MOD I here is the toughest bcoz of the demanding curriculum and the very early summer process.. Once this is done life is CHILL.. ( This is wt the seniors say atleast :))
The best days were during the module ending exams were we forgot our exams and sat together to watch almost all the matches of T20.. The way we cheered our team, the way we danced, the way we hopped the way we screamed for every six was amazing.. Not to forget, the way we broke 3 cots.. yeah.... 4th floor rocksss maaaaaaannn!!!!!
Module 1 is over finally!!! And it is supposedly the toughest modules of all... despite that my avg hours of sleep for the module would be somewhere around 9-10. 😃 😃 :)
Conclusion: either the course is not rigorous or I am super efficient Whatevr be the case, NITIE rocks!!
People out here would kill me for the first conclusion and the second conclusion wud go down as a nice tea time zzzzzokkkk!
Now wht's this zzzzokkkk all abt???? You will probably need to "ask the pankazzzzzzz" - one of the more prominent events of module 1! Pbbly someone else can take this up as an independent topic and explain the history and origin of "ask the pankazzzz"
The other notable thing of course was the T20 World Cup! Boy was it fun???
Before coming to NITIE, if I was upset abt one thing, then it was the fact that I would not be able to watch cricket. This is wht I gathered frm the feedback received from other ppl who had "been there and done that". But come NITIE, and I ve not missed a single ball of a match(put aside T20 and ODIs, I ve not even missed a Test).
But a few things need to be said here... I ve the privilege of not being involved in the committees and activities.... I do only wht I like to do 
Not a very good habit I would say, but having watched Harsha Bhogle's talk at IIM-C, I am inspired enough to do that.
You get to learn games which you have never played before in your life... For me it was Table tennis and Badminton...and for a few others it was "Pocket Billiards"
Closing this msg here, I would like to thank YSS for asking me to post here... I ve always wanted to blog but have been too lazy to even create one... and the one that I actually created... something that was titled "Intangible Tangents", died an early death thanks to the deadly internet connectivity that had prevailed for a few days... So this thread will actually serve a good purpose for the lazy fellas to actually share their experiences. Calling all (albeit the number is quite less) the PGites to pour in their views and experiences...

Phillip Kotler - For Marketing
Levin and Rubin / Bhattacharya - For Business Statistics
Stoner - For Management
These are few books that u might want to own. Others, u can choose based on your interest areas after joining NITIE.
You can get the books from seniors for reference - but generally people prefer keeping a copy of the book they purchase and a few others sell it off once its utility is over.
Most of the study materials are in the form of ppts and pdfs - internet is gonna be a big source yet again.

I don know wether i m d rite person to contribute to this thread...s m not the student of NITIE...but i hav stayed der..in total for 14 days in last two years(s my fren is in NITIE:))
The fisrt thing tat struk me...WOW awesome campus...nice weather..superb greenery...beautifully maintained...Lovely view form the MDP roof...absolutely

Yup only prob is power cut...i remember d first day wen i reached der...coz of power cut the lift was not working nad i had to use stairs to reach 7th floor...
Apart from tat simply awesome xperience...

Extremely sorry to say somehow this thread escaped my notice...But again no reasons for guessing why..tis so sleepy :neutral:
Btw been staying here in Nitie since 6th...have my office in Hiranandani and hence the best option was to park myself here.....good to see few more fellow puys turning up here for their stay.
Time permitting, we can plan out and have small PG meet here in the campus itself tonight..watsay??
P.S - 1 : @koolbuddy...thought only Billy is the active puy from ur campus...good to see u also being equally active..lookin frwrd to meeting ya :grin:

My fern stay der..so wen i go to mumbai to meet her i stay @ NITIE...i was der arnd Holi...:)
