Talks are on the final stages about the exchange program with Mays business School, Texas University .Most probably the exchange program will come in to effect from next year. Two students from our campus are already in Shanghai as a part of the exchange program with Shanghai university.

1. Work ex - how many students have work ex greater than 4-5 years
2. Faculty - vsisting Faculty
3. If I do not consider the present slow down, then ho does 2009 placements look like?

This is really a good move by Insti. I think now the insti is trying to mark its footprint in the global arena. This wll definetly help the SDM student community.

Sorry for the delayed response as we were busy with a paper presentation
Regarding your queries
1. People with more than one year work experience account for about 50% of the population in both batches. And among first years almost twenty in a batch of 120 people have 4+ years of work ex with companies like Hyundai Motors and Infosys.
2. Though being located in a small town like mysore SDMIMD is having very good faculty with tremendous industry exposure.(You can find the profile of our faculty in the college website) .Many of our permanent faculties work as adjunct faculties in IIM K and IIM B. Apart from that we have visiting faculties like Brand comm CEO.
3. Last year the average salary was about 5.5 lakhs and IT companies were the main recruiters. Investment banks like UBS and many BFSI's also recruited from our college. This year though the placements will formally start only in November many companies like National Instruments and ICICI bank had already shown intrest in visiting our campus..

hi seniors,
i have some doubts...my acads are as follows -
X th - 67%
XII th - 62%
archi - 59.4% (i think it wont be considered as 60% ):frown:
i knw poor background, but i was good in extra curricular- such as was selected for various zonal level and national level competitions,was a state guide,formally trained in vocal and classical dance,art ...and work ex of 2 yrs as an architect at a good firm...
i m getting mock scores in the range of 65-75%tile? wat are my chances into SDM-IMD? :innocent: could u pls tell me abt the placement scenario this time?

SDM-IMD has increased its fees 4m 4.15L to 5.98 L for 09-11 batch......do u guys think its justified?????????? As of now i have deleated this coll from my list.........

The increase in admission fee is well justified. To highlight a few :
  1. It has introduce student foreign exchange programs with Texas university and Shanghai university.
  2. Provides dual specialisation.
  3. Industry stalwarts are the visiting professors with the latest curriculum updated tailor suiting the corporate world.
  4. Provides the best infrastructure in the B school arena.
  5. Provides single occupancy hostels with WI FI enabled campus etc etc..
We wouldnt like to compare our B school with others, but can confidently say that we are in the best place pursuing our MBA. Only deserving candidates get admission here..

Hi AllWelcome to SDMIMD with me Surabhi. I would like u all to get a glimpse of the life here before joining the institute. Our day starts at 6am with the yoga classes. The classes extend from 9:30 in the morning to 6 in the evening and if u r lucky then u may have a guest lecture after that, the extent of which depends entirely on the speaker. Thereafter the group assignments, presentations, self study (coz surprise tests are always there to stun u especially when u are not prepared with the subject) but when u are free with all that, then a stroll around the campus with ur gang makes u forget all ur worries and tensions. Drinking tea at 12 midnight, being awake till early mornings to complete assignments just a day before the submission and rainbows after the anytime rains add a tinge of lemon to the otherwise tasteless water so as to make it a lemonade. Regarding the events that take place here at SDMIMD I wud like u all to know that we recently conducted a Global OD Summit which was attended by great OD practitioners from all over the world be it America, UK or Australia. From India the leading names that attended the summit were Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and managing director TVS Motor Co. and Mr. Mohandas Pai, earlier CFO now Head HR of Infosys.The events that are in the pipeline are Naissance, Asian Management Fest and Brand fair.What else shall I say? Thank you v much for the valuable info on this thread. I am a B.E( Mechanical ) and interested in MBA Opeartions. What are the prospects in SDM for MBA Operations, which are the companies visiting to recruit Operations students.

I have 3.5 years of exp.. in Supply chain management and is interested in SDM., But my CAT score is 15 and no hopes of getting call. what are the chances of getting selected in case I get a GD call? my academics are 65% in 10th, +2, and Engg...

while d site mentions 35000 pa as hostel fees.....
so plz confirm me tht 5.98 is total including hostel n mess as u r saying...
or hostel n mess are aprt frm 5.98 .......

Hi,

The fee structure mentioned in the application brochure is final and validated one i.e Hostel = 35000 exclusive of tution fees..

This point was made to install the sailent features of SDMIMD. However, Wi-fi is a new initiative.
