here above my mates have discussed everything, i think i hardly have anything to say.
But i am seriously impressed by Mr. Mani. His sheer experience speaks. The best part is his communication skills. He is a fantastic speaker. The stress and puses he use id just ear-catching.
I think he will be able to guide us properly for this 2 year journey.
Regarding the I&R; (Idea and Research) thing, it is taking people's hell lot of time. But the best part people are getting closer to each other. The best part of this community think is making people to manage TIME in a good way. Having said that, currently i am myself not able to do so :)).
But I&R; will make people to think, which we didn't do till date. The best part of the topic is, none of us got a topic familiar to us. Hence we are forced to do some basic homework and apply thought on it to make the paper.

hurrah every one!!! completed 1 month at SIESComs .Time has jus whizzddd past all of us .and as sum 1 pointed out the fairy tale has already ended and the grind has started ..
for me its time to get on with sum serious work and gyaan enhancin to b done ...
Same aplies for every one and I know all these mates of mine will vouch for this .. and ya EBSCO is a wonderful thing to use .. make max utilization of this .
The first wave of Virtualities has hit us!!!! tho being in the placement committe January is gonna be one helluva month for our team , will surely multi task and help u all in makin Virtualities 08 a gr8 event ..
nex 2 month I am jus into core work and a lottt of funn that i know is yet to come ..

hey guys, really regret 4 not having posted 4 long...trust that only goes to show how things r goin on here....lotsa activities, guest lectures, mgmt games n stuff.......we also enjoy @ the end of each day with star guitar players exhibiting their talent which is simply amazin......can't afford to miss their performances........alongside we are doin serious stuff like we have 3 projects goin on at the same time so that's testing our time management skills to the core n conflict management skills as well......but we r enjoyin every moment of it as we get to interact with diverse people.....its only gonna get better from here on as new initiatives seem to be forthcomin with all committees putting their heart out in their respective endeavours......SIESCOMS is the place to be......watch this space for more..........

Virtualities.....EBSCO.....Santa I missed it all.Unfortunately I was not able to attend the lecture in audi today cause I had something more important to do..We(My IR project group) had went to slums of Turbhe to interview Ms.Shobha Murthy the Founder and Director of a NGO named AARAMBH.. Home.
It was an undiscovered experience to know the story of how she started a small institute of educating slum students mainly the dropouts and then putting them back to school which went on to become a community developing organisation.
What was more inspiring that the Ms.Shobha a CA by education and left a successful career to chase her dream to educate underpriviliged children in slum areas.

Theres something i need to add out here...
The kinda unique pedagogy @ SIESCOMS...
We have a set of really inspiring faculty members who have their own way of teaching us...
First of all ,all of them concentrate on the kind of profile the batch has...
and accordingly they set the level of talks..
they dont get too deep for eg: the finance faculty dont get too 'financial..' in the sense people like me (Engineer) get lost...neither do they let people like Prasad (Chidambaram 
) sleep 
........
They all create a presentation and send it to the google group that we got...
Next day morning in the lecture we are supposed to 'have gone thru the ppt...' and then the discussion goes thru...and hence that ease in understanding is achieved...
At the same time we have compulsary projects for each subject...the best part is we got different groups for each subject...that leaves us in a jeopardy (too strong a word!!!) of what to do and what not to do!!!!!Kindly note...all 5-6 memebers have 5-6 different groups to report to...so a permutation combination cud lead to what...phew...jus think...
we all have problems to link up...but still...we all are up for it...we all have now started feeling a bit accustomed to the hectic schedules and with the kinda motivating speeches of our Director and senior faculty members ...which pep us up!!!!
we are all the more motivated to work harded and smarter...
And besides also find the time for committee work...:nervous:

Dudes, my apologies for showing up once in a blue moon, Well today was fun, we had the MBTI test. And man it was fun, ppl were falling over themselves to get vazi sir`s opinion on what majors they should take, what kinda partner they would get.
I will say i am normally skeptical of such tests, but this one was awesome. It described exactly what I am.. If we include such learning it will be even more fun to learn....
Forgot to mention about the inauguration of the entrepreneurship club.
Probably the most awaited event.
At 5 O clock in the Seminar Hall.
The chief guest is from NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network).

Well Life at siescoms has been a wonderful experience for me....just to remind the readers ...i am from the 06-08 batch....believe me......SIESCOMS is a place where all the initiatives are adored and respected....infact u get full support for anything u wanna come up with.....and thats what gives u a high......ofcourse there are negatives...its afterall not gods own b-school...but overall a great experience........was reading "snapshots from hell" the other day......its a novel by a guy who passed out from Stanford....and ya i am not comparing siescoms and stanford...but ya i can relate to it somewhat.......

Yap Raheel (our senior advisor) the hot topic here is THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB..
And on Friday finally after a long wait it got inaugurated.
The program started with Lighting of Lamp and invocation and then with a power punched
Speech from Dr.Sengupta.
Cyborg aka Amol my partner in crime has already told you about the collaboration with NEN
So what is this NEN...?
The National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) is a network of academic institutions across India performing research and developing and delivering world-class education, skill-building programs, networking activities and company-starting assistance to new, high-growth entrepreneurs.
So what role is NEN going to play in the club...?
NEN along with are advisor board and the core faculty of SIESCOMS... (Includes SenGupta Sir and Subramaniam Sir) will design a course structure which helps the students with ideas and passion to become an entrepreneur. Not only the course structure it also will help students to draft the business Proposal, to approach Venture Captalist, to participate in various business plan competetions.etc.
OK...Back to the inauguration...after the speech by the Dean... the Chief Guest "Sunita Singh" from NEN released the official logo of "SIESCOMS ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB".
Then we had a tte--tte with her.. were she explained how NEN is going to help the students of SIESCOMS...and the method by which it is currently done. That is the STRATEGY...
In her words
"NEN will inspire thousands of talented individuals to choose entrepreneurship, and equip them to build companies that are more successful, on a larger scale, creating 100,000s of new jobs. A crucial part of NEN is the network. Linking institutions in a formal network allows for a whole much larger than the sum of the parts.
Every participating institution will be able to leverage the resources created by other NEN partners, allowing for enhanced offerings. Participation in joint activities creates opportunities for larger networks, and continued sharing of ideas. The NEN interaction will significantly enhance the effectiveness, quality, scale and reach of each individual participant in the network.
Research performed by NEN partners will increase our understanding of the needs, contributions and characteristics of entrepreneurs and their ventures. This in turn will allow for the development of ever-more effective world-class offerings tailored for emerging markets. NEN Partners and NEN Affiliates will offer courses, course content and cases, experiential learning opportunities such as internship, networking events, mentorship programs, and company starting assistance including incubation.
And I am looking forward for more entrepreneurs from SIESCOMS."
And then the program ended with Subbu sir telling us tales about successful Entrepreneurs..(Steve Jobs,Larry Page,Narayan Murthy etc..) . And why he respected all the members in the club. Because he believed he was in midst of Indian Bill Gates...
Also Statistics ka test was great I got 20 out of 20 ...My mother so proud of me...

I think the entrepreneurship club is a novel idea of SIESCOMS to encourage guys to generate jobs rather than run behind jobs...as Prof.Subramaniam once said...
Guys who dont know Prasad...I must say (for no charges..) he is one person who knows to follow his dreams..trust me...I wont be even a bit surprised if he becomes the next big name in the industry...simple bcoz i have met only a few people with a vision and more importantly the guts to follow the vision...
n this fellow is so humble tht I'm sure he will kick me tmrw for having written this openly on a forum..
I guess it jus goes to show that SIESCOMS not jus produces good managers but also good human beings...kudos to u bro!!!
2day we did the TEST OF STEEL.. the desert survival game.must say. we fell short as a team on decision making.never had a clue that the expert rating on that wud involve so many scientific parameters...
anywayzzzz.... hy guyzz the word is out ..Our outbound trainin program is scheduled on Sept 14th... hold ur horses..the place is yt to be finalised ..+ the logistics..this one is gonna be funn for sure....
