hi friends, i've been working for Satyam for around 17 months and i want to switch over to the management from my techie field. will my experience count if i opt for HR? which is the best course offered at UBS in terms of placement? i'll appreciate it if somebody enlightens me on this...
All those who have taken admission in UBS this year are requested to join ubs2008 Yahoogroup.Every Group have its own yahoogroup ..like Batch of MBA 2005-07 have ubs2007 Yahoogroup. Remember only those who have taken admission in UBS this year are allowed to join this ubs2008 yahoogroup. To subscribe to ubs2008 yahoogroup one has to email at following address [email protected]
By 'count' i assume you mean to know whether you will be offered a lateral or higher package. It really depends on the company policy. As you were working as a software engrr and not as a HR professional, you might not qualify for it, but again an It company might judge your experience to be relevant, and offer you a better deal.
which is the best course offered at UBS in terms of placement?
Instead of thinking of best placement, you should rather focus on what you want to do. HR is a very distinct field from say, Finance, and accordingly there are separate courses at UBS to cater to them.
At UBS, the maximum bulk of the students pursue a career in Marketing (including most of the MBA-IB students), so in a way Marketing is the 'best' field as far as the sheer number of people placed is concernd. But Finance was the first to be placed 100% this year .... so as you can see there is no real "best course" - it depends on what you want.

hi candy cut off was 92.65 but as ubs gives 85 percent waitage to cat score....so people with higher percentiles(generally 95 or above) actually make through. reg course ubs have three courses MBA(general), MBA(IB) and MBA(HR).In general u ve further specialiation of marketing/finance.ubs is a good insti with gr8 faculty and there all courses are good... depends wht u r interested in.placements u can ve a look at there website in there placement brouchre www.ubschandigarh.org
Hi there Some of UBS' best alumni are frm HR.Like evry B-school,UBS isnt much diff in placmnt i.e.Mktg guys r high in demand as usual...so thy r picked up first..thn Finance(coz core finance jobs go to peep' with strong qualifications ..CA+MBA is obviously bettr thn plain MBA in finance...thn HR..prob is finally some guys in HR may b left behind but tat doesnt mean thy rn't placed. Any other queries r welcome.
(PS: m joinin UBS tis yr)
thanks again vinesh!!!!
i looked at the placement brochure but it doesnt say anything about the average salary offered. Can u plz tell me if u have any idea??
And I also heard that HR@UBS is not good. Do u have any idea about it???
about hr cant say much bcoz i was never interestd in hr so nevr lookd for any info.reg ubs its university school where thngs work lik a govt insti babu type enviroment but its main strength is its faculty so the onus is on the student how much he can get from his profs. caio
acc to this article the placements have been good. About the placements across banks and stuff, it would be for people with MBA finance ( I think but correct me if i am wrong).

finance wht i ve heard is not tht easy but thn most of the higher salaries r generally given by financial institutions, banks etc...so it depends on ur interest. personally m not too keen on finance more interestd in marketing and oprnts but keeping my options open as i ve to choose the specialised subject in 2nd yr.which generally is also the case with many other insti...
hey....u still ve to give cat and get into a b-school, rht?? so y r u thinking abt these thngs abhi....u ll get lot of time to think abt ths later on...as of now just concentrate upon prep for cat and give ur best shot.... caio
