however its real fun :cheers:its helping us learn a lot. recently our seniors had arranged freshers party for us enjoyed that too!!
about the events recently there was a HR Symposium conducted, Dr. Syed Shajuaddin was the chief guest-Presently working as Deputy General Manager HR & Head Training with H & R Johnson India. Phd in "Human Capital - Retention and Development"
other speaker was Ms. Savita Sholapurkar holds her current position in middle management at lafarge. the panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Rammakrishnan-has handled various agri-projects for various renowned organisations like Tata, Kirloskar, Usha, Martin group, RPG & the like.other members included Mr. Vishal Bhargav- he posses six sigma black belts from Axa university, he has over 9yrs of experience in the space of strategic recruitment & HR with leading brands such as Sterling info systems, Bharti Axa group, Syntel & Tracmail.
Mr. sherry Mathew - currently working with Diversey India pvt. Ltd. as a learning & organisational capability leader for greater Asia pacific region. He is responsible for talent management, leadership development, organisational effectiveness, training facilitation& process excellence. A National Seminar on Economic Environment of Business was held
at Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Management Studies
and Research on October 9th, 2010. The seminar was organized by Dr
J.K.Sachdeva. He is a world renowned researcher and the Deputy Director of
VESIMSR.
The seminar gave researchers a platform to share their research and findings.
The researchers presented their papers on various interesting subjects such
as fake brands menace, a comparative study of Indian stock markets with
other Asian markets, retail non performing assets resolution in India and many
more. The audience comprised of management students of VESIMSR as well
as students from other institutes.
The research papers were judged by a panel of experts. A few questions were
put forth by the panel to the researchers.
The students present at the seminar learnt the ways in which research has
to be conducted and also the way in which research papers have to be
presented. The researchers also received a feedback from the panel. Some
of the suggestions put forth were to mention the details of the questionnaire
used to interview the target group and also mention their sources of
information.
The students got introduced to various issues affecting our countries
economy. The researchers also learnt better ways of presenting their papers.
At the end of the seminar the best three researchers were awarded for their
work. The seminar equipped everyone present with ways of being a better
researcher.
The Rotary Club organized the third Annual Rolling Trophy Competiton for
Management Studies 2010 in collaboration with Mega Ace Consultancy.
The competition was held at Indian Merchants Chamber, Churchgate on 8th
October, 2010. Five management institutes across Mumbai and Pune were
shortlisted. JBIMS, NMIMS, Welingkar Institute of Management, Vivekanand
Education Society's Institute of Management Studies and Research and IIT
Bombay were shortlisted.
The institutes were selected on the basis of the executive summary prepared
by them on their chosen topics. They had to present the same topic before a
panel of six members which comprised of the President of Rotary Club and
experts.
Each institute was represented by a team that comprised of three members.
The presentations made by the selected institutes were on topics related to
the field of education, medicine and green energy.
The competition turned out to be fruitful for the selected institutes. They all
learnt from each other's presentations. The feedback received from the panel
also helped everyone realize the strength their presentation carried and also
the areas where they can improve.
Vivekanand Institute of Management Studies and Research secured the
fourth place in the competition. The topic presented by them was GLOBAL
EDUCATION IN INDIA: ENCOURAGING FOREIGN INVESTMENTS AND
UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA.

life at vesimsr is rocking so far the first sem is over and the second sem has begun. Now we have a mega event called Chaitanya coming up. Chaitanya is a intercollegete management event. the theme this year is Indai can... Inadia will. there are many events like ad mad show, beg borrow steal, many management games, business quiz, bannd housie, business plan, paper presentation, mock stock, fire the hired, crises control.
these events will help the future managers to showcase their management skills, also there are various sport events which will enable the students to have loads of fun...
the sport events are.. box cricket, rink foot ball, etc.
this mega event will be held on the 3rd n 4th of feb, 2011

It saw a huge participation from various colleges (under graduates and post graduates) like JB, MET, IES, GNIMS, Baedeker, etc. in a plethora of events like the ad mad show, business quiz, mock stock, beg borrow and steal, brand housie, cricket, crisis control, rink football, and the likes. It was great fun organizing these events. It thought us various things like planning, group coordination, budget control, etc. we also learned from the students of other colleges. The winners received gift vouchers worth 3000, 1000, BSA cycle, etc.
The very next day we had Glimpses our intra collegiate event. It began by price distribution followed by various performances by our fellow students. The performances included dance, fashion show, singing and so on the fun we had just cannot be put into words. To just use one word for it, I would describe it as awesome! Now we are back to studies.. the presentations, assignments, all have begun, there is absolutely no time to breathe. None the less our professors have been very helpful & coordinating throughout. The events wouldn't have been possible hadn't it been for their guidance!! Thanks to all professors, non teaching staff, organizers, participants for making the events a grand success.

the average salary this year is around 3-3.5 lakhs. Of the students who had opted for marketing, operations & HR specializations, all have been placed. However a few students in the finance specialization are yet to be placed as the companies that did come for finance specializations had a sales profile to offer. some more companies are yet to come. this year all the 120 students of MMS as well as the students of PG have been placed for their summers.
